Hi Federico, the car i took thr cc switch from didnt hsve the extra connection like im your first video. Im thinking in my 2003, they made it all one plug. Do you know any more about rhis? Thamks and great video
@@roialblu I donr really know. Maybe. But it could be that the cruise control is not available in Your vehicle. You can try, but do it at Your own risk 😉

In My case it was just plug n play. You have to check if Your car has all the hardware required for cruise control. If only a swich is missing, then it should work without any activation.
and did you program the lever at all or its automatic ?

In my case I didn't need to activate it. It was just plug n play. In some cases You might have to activate it.

In my car it was just plug and play. I heard that in most such cars cruise contrall is built in from the factory, but the handle with controls not in every one.

After 30km/h is when the cruise control can be activated. It won't work below 30 Increments of reduction or addition to sites, is 2km each click. Click 5 times = 10km/h change in speed.

Your car would have had cruise control initially and the stalk has been changed. Only cars with cruise control had the wiring loom, it runs through the ECU and is not present in any car without it being standard. So you can't just fit the stalk and get cruise control unfortunately.
Thanks for information. You may be right. I don't know why, but a lot of cars that I had to deal with had all the wiring, but no control on the switch. I always propose to check the wiring before buying the handle. :)

What kind of throttle valve do you have in your car? Mechanical or electric? Cause I'm thinking if it's Mechanical how the cruise control will operate if the valve opening is controlled depending on how we press the gas pedal.

Hello, thank you for this instructional video. However, after installing my new indicator switch into my Astra G (also a 2 liter DTI, Y20DTH for engine model if I'm correct), it doesn't work. OPCOM shows that the Clutch and Brake switches are present and functional, but the Cruise Control switch for O(off) is always active, and other buttons are being ignored. Do I need to go remap my ECU for this, or am I missing something?
Yes, You might have to remap your ECU, but firstly check connections of the switch and O (off) button, maybe it is defective.
Does the R button feels a bit awkward at yours? Mine does, you have to press it hard or just at the right angle lol..

Just bought a 2002 Astra TS Convertible for my daughter, yes the R button is a bit strange to push, I replaced the switch with one I bought from Ebay as the indicator cancelling was not working

I do enjoy driving her car but it is a bit hard to get in and out of for and old fart like me, lol, Yes as it is the Resume button that would make sense to make it a deliberate act to turn it on.
Mine is a 2000 1.6 16v automatic, so it has a drive by wire gas pedal and 4 wires on the brake pedal switch. I've connected the cc switch and it did work immediatly. Was a bit weird since it had no light on the dash.. But I think it originally had CC? But someone replaced the indicator handle without CC controls just to get it through the yearly test.

Thanks so much for this tutorial as I own a 2003 Astra with cruise control that I have blown a Piston ring in and just bought a second hand Astra that does not have cruise control and I will now bcoz of your video will take the cruise control out and put it in my purchased Astra. Many many thanks as I loved having cruise control. 👍🏻🇦🇺

Hi, I am not familiar with this type of engine. Try looking for a connection behind your steering wheel. If it is present, then it should justbe plug n play. But if there is not, then you might need to put in some work.

Hi, if you have had the connector for it, so it should work. Check for switches under your pedals. There should be switches under your cluch and brake pedals, which undo the cruise controll setting.
Hi Federico, mine cables are preinstalled however ONLY has break switch, not clutch switch. Do you think Thats enough?

Hi, check if your car has cluch and brake switches installed. They are visible under the pedals. If they are, then cc should be working fine. If not, you might have to buy additional hardware and remap your ecu. 😉

This will work for Astra G and Zafira A, if cruise control does not work straight away, check you have clutch switch installed. Also you may need to program your ecu if it does not work, but is really easy using a simple $20 OPCOM unit off Ebay and an old laptop running Windows 7, takes about 5 mins to do... (check out You Tube on how to use Opcom...)

Hi, the accelerator throttle pedal is electrically controlled, so nothing else needs to be installed in my case. The CC switch comunicates witk ECU and sets speed as it was sent electrically from pedal.
I have Opel Meriva 2004 , 1.7 cdti and its not working for me, i have done everything the same as you on this video ..
Sad to hear. But astra and meriva differs and it's 5 years apart, so something might be different.

If it doesn't work just with the switch, you might have to remap your ecu. You might also need to install some hardware to the pedlals.
@Immortal Cluch and brake pedal switches that turn off cc. If a connector is present at your steering wheel it might be that those switches on the pedals are also present. If they are not, you'll have to install them.
