I don't like to be negative but I gotta say I really don't like this rider's style...way too harsh and machismo...that is one beautiful, talented horse but the look in his eye indicates he is man-handled. That is brut force, getting what you want by force. I don't see a beautiful connection there...just fear. I wish harmonious connection was more valued in this sport rather than speed and 'flair', not saying that can't be there but I want the horse to look happy.

Really cool horse but I don't like the roughness of this guy as a rider - so reliant on those harsh spurs why just not try a little leg on that horse rather than those spurs - horse looks very irritated by them and would probably give a much smoother harmonious picture, you can tell that horse is sensitive and quick enough he does not need them. Definitely a top horse though - stunning color.
He wasn't gouging the horse..
@@ddjackson04 This run may have been the runoff run, which is why the horse is so sweaty for one....the cool thing that is happening right now in the sport is that they are finally rewarding the runs that look smooth and don't look like the horse was roughly trained....this horse's body language and subtle cues looks like he is being over shown and gives the impression of rough training but, certainly, one can't say that as a fact. This aggressive bravado look is hopefully going out the door. I don't know Bertolani and his methods, I am just commenting on the impression it gives. This horse is one of the greats and an absolute beauty and his sire record is speaking for itself.
