Here are my general thoughts and reactions on our first 10 months of living in the UK. Since moving here from Germany, and formerly the US, we've experienced a variety of different aspects of living in UK. From the healthcare system, to the cost of living, and a variety of other aspects, these are my unscripted thoughts. 00:00 - Introduction 00:44 - The Good 00:47 - London 02:05 - Shopping 03:4...
We Indians went through 9 British manufactured famine and our Food is still the best so stop giving excuse
As a British I’m concerned for what you think is “bad food” I’ll stick with my chip butty thanks
try sticky toffee pudding
My mother gave us beans on toast. Never thought 2 things about it, except that it was poor food.
Beans on toast is great. If you want to Americanize it, try barbecue burnt-end beans on Texas toast. Amazing.
i don´t think beans on toast itself is weird, but not for a breakfast..... Who can eat that within 1 hour of waking up
Beans on the side with two slices of toast and butter hate it when someone puts the beans on the toast and makes the bread soggy
Try sunday dinner with all the trimmings, go to a nice pub bro its a game changer.
my husband liked it?

@@OurCrazyLifeIn it was never been ground breaking.. you guys looks so perfect together ❤️
@@OurCrazyLifeIn the problem is the girl not having a female role model
Heinz is the best, good Bread butter'd be for the beans go on top, Adding a knob of Butter to the beans adds a silky smoothness along with a pinch of decent Sea Salt as they warm on the stove, additionally you could add a few slices of nice Streaky English Bacon on the side, Its usually used as a quick and easy meal just to get you by and also a great money saver.
Thank you for these great tips! I’ll have to try it again with your suggestions.
@@OurCrazyLifeInif you like worcestershire sauce you can also stir a little bit of that into the beans, it's a really simple way to elevate the beans and give it a good tangy kick as well as more umami flavour. Honestly beans on toast is great but there's a tonne of ways you can augment it beyond the basics too 👌
My friend, find baked beans that you like. It sounds silly, but it makes a huge difference. Start with Heinz, try Branston, then go through the various own-brands and supermarket varieties. Get a decent bread. I'd recommend something seedy and toast it just over what you'd normally want, once you add butter and beans, it will fall apart. Black pepper, a little cheese, delicious, fast, cheap and not badly nutritious :)
Thank you for the advice! I actually usually eat seedy bread, so I’ll try that next time. I’ll check out Heinz and go from there!
I think Shun is just misunderstood because he gets lost in his head so much. And also we can't forget the fact that Netflix capitalised on this I would really want to see the cut parts of the show.
toast samwhich
Dont call it POM for nothing.
The thing is. Good british food is just locked up for the poor people which is expensive and hard to create without proper tools. For example wellington is hard to make because of the need for more tools to make it. Its not cultural unless its for everyone. Not expensive stuff for rich people.
I think that’s one example, but I think the pies, Sunday roast with Yorkshire pudding, scones with clotted cream, etc. are all accessible and more representative of classic British food than just beans and toast, and would be enjoyed by most people outside of the UK
british foods stilll suck
Vinegar on the french fries … I think I’ll pass
First of all it's called chips and secondly, not our fault you have boring yank tastebuds from the periodic table chemicals in your yankee doodle food
Im pretty sure there are much much bigger problems in the UK than food.
Nah dude British food has earned its reputation for being shit. Mushy peas, beans on toast, and shit ass fish and chips have definitely cemented UK cuisine as the worst. I mean fuck one of UKs popular dishes is CURRY!
I’d say the USA and the UK are both victims of selection bias when it comes to food. Both are often ( at least online) insulted for the foods they eat. In the case of the UK, people tend to pick on foods like mushy peas or beans on toast, and for the USA it’s things like hamburgers or other fast food. The irony is that in the case of the UK and the USA, none of the dishes people pick on were ever meant to be “high class” examples of cuisine. They were common items people could afford that stuck around for one reason or another and became culturally relevant. People picking on food from the UK won’t bring up dishes like Beef Wellington which is both world renowned and difficult to make, just like they won’t give American Barbecue more than a cursory glance.
Exactly!
we ran the world we created nearly everything our food not being to your liking is not important to us we like it
There’s more to UK food than beans and toast… 🤦
When one of your examples is MULTICULTURAL FOOD... Yeah sorry.
Beans on toast. I rest my case.
There’s more to British food than beans on toast.
All you have to do is see what everyday UK citizens post online about the food they eat, it’s bad. The average American doesn’t eat shrimp jello, so I’d say that’s a bad example.
You can’t judge an entire culture based on beans on toast, there is way more to British food than the 2 examples anyone ever gives or what circulates online. Have you actually been to the UK and tried their food firsthand? Or are you just looking at photos online? I’ve been in the UK for nearly a year and there are so many delicious foods. Is everything great? No of course not, but America has its fair share of foods that are repulsive to the rest of the world too, yet most people don’t focus on the worst examples popular with the locals.
@@OurCrazyLifeIn just curious what would those repulsive American foods be ? Is it stuff Americans under 50 ever seen before?
The food in Britain is fine, its the same you'll find in the rest of Europe and even america. :/
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight 🙄
I would argue that Italy, Greece and France are exceptions that have way better food, and probably a few others.
The out dated data : beans on toast
I just want to say upfront that Curry does not belong to just Indian food. It is very bigoted to think so. Save me the history lesson on where Curry orignated because we all know. Many countries besides India Curry is a staple dish. There is no one way of eating curry either. The Culture Apropriation believers should consider that what they are doing is in face feeding into bigotry. Culture in humans is meant to be shared and as we share culture we become wiser and advance quicker. While we all love traditions, traditions are history lessons but should never be blockades to progress. What you do when you say don't appropriate my culture is actually isolation. You can enjoy the benefits and wisdom of your culture but not others. That is in fact supremacy. Read the Nature of Prejudice and you'll see the first steps to bigotry is in fact negative bias which leads to groups isolating themselves from others. In that isolation that group results to violence over reason eventually. This is because that group uses it's negative bias to justify the fact it's greedy for power struggles. While the british were a fine example of this in history, lets remember that in that history we should not follow in the footsteps of the past but learn from those who have already walked that trouble path. Let people enjoy your culture, let them blend in with it, it breaks down the walls of prejudice when we share. We surely should share with love.
The main Benefit from a world where everything is inter connected
It’s not a bigoted thing it’s actually just association nobody knows any other dishes and it’s what India is most known for food wise it’s the same exact reason people think of fried chicken when you hear Kentucky and the reason people think of fried rice when they hear about Chinese food and haggis for Scotland
No no, it's bad.
Beans on Toast.... And, claiming the international food as 'british', is literal cultural appropriation. Curry is Indian food, not British, the brits can't claim it.
I never claimed Indian food is British food. However the U.K. population is diverse which makes the food landscape diverse. Also, literally every culture appropriates food. You can practically take any cultures food and trace it back to another culture throughout history.
Excuse me but more than Indians eat Curry. Curry is a dish in majority countries of Africa, the Carribean islands, and Asia. While Curry comes in a variety of dishes and a variety of ways it is not just and indian staple food. Also cultures are meant to be appropriated. Tacos are just as American as they are Mexican. Italian spaghetti has been made all over the world twisting it a bit to adjust to local tastes. Much like fried chicken has become a world wide staple food and not just a southern American Food. Culture is meant to share, and if we don't do that we feed into the bigotry and prejudice of the past. The first two steps to prejucide is negative bias and than isolation. We should make sure we don't become who we hate in the process of helping the world cure it's racism.
Cause it's aweful
Many people are riding the coatail of this program's popularity 😂
This is completely off track but we Japanese seldom eat raw chiken. it has bacterias and is dangerous to eat. some restaurants serve raw chiken as sashimi but it must be really fresh and it is pretty pricy for daily meal. you can't eat so often.
Thanks for sharing. When I lived in Japan I never heard of anyone eating raw chicken besides sashimi, but bodybuilders sometimes have odd habits so we weren’t sure. Thank you!
Even Westerners would never really eat raw chicken it is as you say contains bacteria and it does need to be thoroughly cooked before being eaten. The chicken smoothie is made with boiled chicken although they only explain the cooking process in the show with one very brief shot.
Pls react their 7 month reunion. Netflix Japan ❤

As an Asian myself, I think Shun looks very Japanese. He has these big eyes and natural looking nose structure which kinda reminds me of Miura Haruma (RIP) and a younger Yamapi. Also, Usak is a stage name which is derived from his first name Yusaku.
They do not look similar but yes Korean or mixed
Usak's chicken smoothie was made with boiled chicken.

My husband gets really angry with me if i scrub his tea stains out of his mug. My grandma soaks her fine china in white vinegar but I've always thought that was more effort than just giving them a good scrub every now and then.
Just curious, why does your husband want the tea stains in his hug?

Interesting, I didn’t know that was a thing!

Our food is brilliant multicultural and very tasty I'm a pretty good cook myself, I make Indian, Chinese and Italian as well as our own. My brother say's my Tuscan chicken is restaurant quality and my fondant potatoes are like a meal on there own, he's a great cook to so it's high praise.
So what's your favourite British dish? Aaaaand... have you tried a Full English Breakfast or Sunday Roast? P.s..... Try Toad in the Hole with onion gravy x
Honestly, I’m not sure what my favorite dish is. I have had a Sunday roast and the one I had was very tasty. I also bought a Mary Berry cookbook and have tried a few desserts which were all delicious.
Who would of thought that the most multicultural country in the world would have good food...
It does annoy me a little that the UK is labelled as having bad food because it's untrue and unfair. The label exists because in WW2, when American military personnel came over to the UK from 1942 onwards, the food in the UK was genuinely very limited and bland compared to America. However, that was because the UK had already been engaged in a total worldwide war with the Axis Powers for 3 years before America got involved, and so food was in limited supply and had to be heavily rationed to just highly nutritious but very cheap and bland staple food, nothing sweet or luxurious. That food rationing lasted till 1954. So when the American military personnel returned home, one of the first things they all talked about was how bad and bland the food was, and so it became a common prevailing reputation in America passed around by people and passed down the generations still to this day, very unfairly so as WW2 and rationing ended 70-80 years ago.
Yea, I completely agree. And when they come here to visit they aren’t really giving it a fair shot because of this trope that has been passed down.
Some of it is a bit wank tbh. Jellied eels, blood pudding, eugh
To be fair, every cultural has the oddities. In America we have “squirt cheese”… I don’t think it gets much worse than that lol
