Intro to Stone Restoration- Removing etch marks using MB-11® Part 1
Interesting, I would of thought you go through the lower grits faster because you're removing more material with the lower grits.
Great for countertops. Definite learning curve.
Great video. After I use the 200 and 400 grit, all the etch marks are gone. However, is it common to have ring scratches on the entire slab.
How long from start to finish would you estimate this would have taken? Also another quick question regarding MB-20. At what point or color of stone do you need to start thinking about tinting the MB-20?
Can the MP20 be used on Quartz?
I have a Dallas white granite and it turn little grain to white after it dried. I thought after I used Finito it would be gone but it still there. Plwase advise what I should do. I already sealed it.
Do you have photos we could look at?
@@mbstoneprofessional where would you like for me to send it?
Great video, question.after you apply Funito do you still apply the mb Barrier or is not necessary?
If you plan to seal the stone you would do that BEFORE the finito.
I followed this method but it popped out many tiny grain in my granite by turning it white. Any help please?
Could you send us some photos?
@@mbstoneprofessional where would you like for me to send it to?
What is the machine speed set at when using the MB-20? 2 or 3? Also, I have 3inch hybrid diamond pads, but it leaves swirls, I don't apply any pressure and I keep the speed at 1, do I need to increase the speed?
Check out our how to video on MB-20 here th-cam.com/video/OC-GpjFKEKM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=HbI5HgL8xtj4webe
Is that just a concrete block/paver?
It is!
@@mbstoneprofessional Thanks! I'll throw one in my truck!
Great video. Very helpful!
Glad it was helpful! Let us know what you want to see next!
Can you guys make a video on how to use each component of the box?
Sure! We can get that up for you.
@@mbstoneprofessionalgreat! Looking forward for it.
Trying to learn with that noise in the background would drive me nuts lol
lol we try to eliminate those these days.
Great demo Cameron! I noticed your polishing patterns have evolved. I’ve been doing left to right and back, around 5-7 passes each grit. You’re moving much faster too, with less passes. Gonna try this technique! Also, I am an octopus. Thank you for your inclusivity!
Equal opportunity over here. All-inclusive.
Nice!
Thanks!
Great video!!!!
Thank you!
Where can I buy the whole granite kit?
www.mbstonepro.com/products/granite-reconditioning-kit
Would an orbital forced rotation machine work as well or would the rotory be the best option.
I have a marble kit. Are the same steps the same? If not, can you send me a video to follow?
Somehow your comment slipped by, did you use your marble kit already? how did it go?
not very useful without any expiation.
No masks?
Is that zelensky before the war?
Dude, don't quit your day job. Making DIY videos is NOT for you. Fail 👎🏼
Eh not everyone can be great at everything... lol
seriously, you don't have to watch
Great video. Thnx
Is Stu or Denise the emo kid that picked a "Panic!" song for the theme?😂 Glad you folks had a good year!
Haha thanks J!
I. Love. This. So. Much. 😂😂😂
We thought it was pretty good!
will this work for marble. ive got sealed marble countertops and they have etch marks all over them. will this help?
Sorry for the delay! This kit is made specifically for granite, but we do have other kits and items for marble. Contact us and we can guide you to something that will fit your needs.
Would you be able to use this on Quartz or just granite?
It technically works on quartz, but it will not match the original factory shine. It will end up too shiny. if you are polishing the entire top, then it can work
@@CameronDemille-ui2up Thank you!
Will it remove hard water spots?
The easy scrub in this kit is great for water spots on granite.
What pads were you using?
Shouldn’t the stone be sealed before polishing?
There is no need to seal prior to polishing.
I’m a carpet cleaner , how hard is it to pick up this skill
Many have picked this up quickly as this was designed for others who don't do stone restoration to add this as a profitable service. It's not too technical in process. However, we offer an intro to stone restoration course if you are looking to expand in that direction.
Will this paste work on any color granite?
It will work on different shades and colors of granite. Many professionals prefer to add a tint to the polishing compound when working on darker granites.
These demonstrations always look easy when done in these small sections, that are not that dirty to start with. I will like to see it done in a more realistic larger square footage commercial setting, with real dirt and grime and where doing it this manually on your knees, is practically impossible.
This floor was filled with dirt and grime in the grout. We will be posting another video that shows the dirt that was removed with MB-2 before colorsealing. We do recommend using other means that hands and knees when cleaning the larger area in preparation. The racatac cart works great when you are ready to colorseal the grout! Saves the knees and makes it easy to move around in a larger area. You can always give us a call at the office and talk with one of our restoation professionals. We have 2 in the office that have been in the restoration business for 20+ years.
You are correct. Many years ago I before I had any equipment I would clean big floors on my hands and knees...it was brutal. I've been using ColorClad for around 14 years and This Old Grout (Modern Stone Technologies) for 5 years before that. Most people (like me) doing commercial areas are using either a truckmount or a portable extractor with a "turbo hybrid" that is pressure washing at 1,000+ psi and vacuuming simultaneously. I just did 700 s.f. with a floor machine and a shop vac this past Wednesday with my nephew and I in a day. We've done tens of thousands of s.f. of ColorClad including lots of showers.
Awesome, well done video
Thank you very much!
How should we tell the homeowner to clean and maintain the counters afterwards. Should we tell them to use neutral cleaner, wipe foods off, etc.?
Absolutely. Clean with a pH neutral cleaner like Easy Oxy or MB-5. If they end up needing something heavy duty you or they can contact us to help determine what they'll need.
Wow, ini keren
I will help thoes that want real answers. 1) wet sand it . hit it with 400 then 1000 grit sand paper , in circular natural wave of the stone , wash it good , then go rub some dirt in it ! Yes dirt . That’s where the magic happens . Vote this up so ppl who need this info can see it.
Never heard of dirt as a honing option. If someone wants a truly creditable answer or advice we will happy to help them with proven methods and products.
No one cares on tile not even Laid yet. Let’s see in a floor where we need to keep congruency. This is easy
We begin on small pieces to show the techniques, then move to the floors. If you attended a class, you would have a better understanding of what we do. These are only small snippets.
Hello. I poured harpic toilet cleanser on bathroom floor and it left a white stain. Will this method help to remove the stain?
We would have to see some photos to determine if this will help or if the damage is extensive and will require more abrasive means to restore.
