Burying old plastic statues will take hundreds of years to disintegrate that's bad for the environment and the plastic chemicals can leech into water systems. Secondly, burning plastic is not good for your health being around the fumes. Any other options??

I've visited the sisters there many times with my mother. I respect their lives and response to the call of God.

When I saw my dad around Thanksgiving I knew he really loved and understood me when he took me to the graveyard where many of my family are buried. It'd been years since I went to pay my respects with Dad. They were gifted and unique people and I think of them often.

There is some evidence in Scripture of Angels having wings - there is mention of "6 winged Seraphim" I believe.

The Feast of Our Lady Of Guadalupe is a very big deal here in south Texas, with Masses celebrated, processions, and songs honoring La Virgen. I have a statue of her, on top of a bookcase devoted to Mexican folk art pieces, especially Day of the Dead figures. Several years ago, on December 12, I found my cat on top of that bookcase. He was sleeping very contentedly, with his head on the base of her statue. He never went up there, and I believe she called him, to spend time with her. Or maybe he picked up on it being her special day. Thank God for giving us such a loving mother.

You'll notice, your excellency, you get a little distracted and forget to answer the question. The people of the church want their shepard to guide them with clear answers. You could simply cite church teaching on the matter. I'm sure it is quite clear. You seem well prepared with note cards, but you never answer the question. Are you ashamed of Jesus Christ and the Church He founded and therefore muddy the water so as to obscure Her teaching? If so, remember what Jesus said would be the fate of such persons. My family prays for you every night. We love you, Bishop Doherty. Take courage! Christ has won! You don't need worldly affirmation. What can the world offer you that is greater than eternal life. Life that YOU make possible through your ministerial priesthood! I beg you to reject the world and and put on the new man! Viva Christo Rey
