yeah it had two releases each with 2 road numbers. the tint of the colors is even a little different between the releases.

How much can be hauled depends entirely on the track gradient/landscape/geography and drops quickly as grades are encountered. Let's see, the Hoosier Valley Museum website says this is a 1908 Baldwin. So, looking in a reprint of a 'The Baldwin Locomotive Company Catalogue of Locomotives', a telegraph word code order 0-4-4 of "Masterasso", Class 8-14 1/3C, 10x16 cylinders, 37in drivers, (which looks about what this one might be) 44,000 pounds total weight in working order, Could Haul: on level track 640 tons (which indeed is more than two cars!); on a 0.5% grade, 305 tons; on a 1.5% grade; 130 tons; on a 3% grade 65 tons. For those who might not already know, railroad track grade, slope, here in the US is referred to as a percent derived by dividing how many feet of rise (or decline) in a run of 100 feet. Meaning, that 0.5% grade would be a rise of 6 inches in a run of 100 feet & that 3% grade would be a rise of 3 feet in a run of 100 feet.

Thanks for watching! Yeah this is QSI. Sort of the proto protosound 1 so it's even more basic than menards. Conventional control, no crew talk, and I had to install a BCR.

I think the sounds are QSI Mark which are also in Protosound 1 engines.

tightening the screws on the trucks helps a bit. it used to be worse. but really its so top heavy because menard's die cast vehicles are solid chunks lol

When I was there it was in the shop and the tender was out back with what looked like a new paint job. Not sure beyond that

@@hoosierrail3588 I have a few PS1 engines myself. They can do different things but programming them is more difficult than with newer stuff. But they run good!

Mr muffins trains, but I think they sold out

Lionel is not very good with sounds in general. The horn is only barely tolerable at the pitch I have it set at. Any other setting sounds like a toy or a tugboat. I'm not sure if anyone at Lionel has ever actually heard a train horn or radio chatter

Well I think 4002 had a K5LA at the time this was built. The horn is alright better then the K3LA
