    from what I've seen these trucks have a problem with weak clutches in 3rd and 4th gear. My 2001 Yukon XL 1500 is having the same issue. Probably gonna have to either have it rebuilt or swap it out altogether. Good luck

    Try to manually shift it with the gear shifter put it in first then shifted up the second then second to third and then third to drive and it might manually shift itself out of second gear you're driving around in second gear at 5000 RPMs i.

    I appreciate your one-handed work. I would have dropped the stupid thing and gears would have went everywhere. Just changed mine. The main gear was broken. When you said you are using one hand on the camera it reminded me of Richard Brenner's joke about his mom. His mom would get exasperated with him and say "Richard I only have two hands!", Brenner turns to the audience and says "Do other mothers have more hands?". That always gives me a chuckle. Thanks for the video.

    That's actually the easiest one to replace try replacing the upper driver side actuator that fails such as hot air blowing on passenger side but cold air on driver side requires removing upper dash I removed the air bag for easier access still a PITA...

  • @lisab3396
    @lisab3396 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    By 8:43 I found this to be absolutely eye opening. In short, had you take a picture of that blend door actuator gear prior to dismantling it, all you need to do was re-align it back after making your adjustments. 2nd, Had you cleaned off those contacts and the carbon surface with Isopropyl Alcohol to remove grease on them, plus Re-Grease with synthetic grease the gears, all would likely be as good as new. When you adjust/bend old brush contacts, you risk stressing them and they "may" break before or after re-installation.

    Fantastic Video! Great Camera work - totally amazing that you did this without second person. You showed a perfect view of the actuator blend door and the need to align things when reinstalling. I had already gotten a replacement, but now pulled the old one apart and see the issue - it was the same as yours! Contacts had gotten buggered up with grease. Again - THANK YOU!

    💯. My heater control didn’t work and I “thought” it was the actuator and watched your video. Simple/plain & easy. I’ve paid to replace them before 😂. Turned out that the knobs needed to be pulled off and the knob post needed to be sprayed with electrical cleaning spray and turned back and forth a few times. Cost $7 & 4 minutes and 20 seconds into your video to get er dun! 💪🏾THANKS BRO 😎
