Yes, you can use a whisk but it will probably take 5 times as long to reach saponification

You can add fragrance to yours. This is just the cream soap base, you can use the base for many different things

How do you calculate KOH and NaOH?
I use an even split for this recipe, if you want it to be softer use more KOH. and vice-versa. In the future I will be using a 70:30 ratio, 70%KOH and 30%NaOH. I think this split would be easier to work with, and also easier on your mixer 😉.

Do you teach any classes? I’d like to learn how to formulate my own cream soap recipes but I don’t understand how to adjust things like Stearic acid, glycerin, etc. I formulate my own recipes for CPS, HPS and all other products but this cream soap eludes me. The Catherine Failor book is $200+ and there are only a few copies on the internet.
I dont teach any classes at the moment, but I can make a more in depth video about cream soaps if that help 😁

You do realize you added too much sodium hydroxide? You added a spoonful then turned on the scale.
This is so satisfying🤍🤍 Do the bath salts start to get wet after sitting for a while or is that what the baking soda is for? Also if I don’t use citric acid would I just put more baking soda in its place? (If that makes sense😭)
Thank you. The salts dissolves in the water 😂😂😂 you don't need the citric acid. You don't have to double the baking soda.
@@hsborganix4541 Thank you😭🤍 also I know the salts dissolve in the water😭 I made a typo I meant to say will the essential oils start to make the salt get a lot of moisture after sitting in the jar after a while or does it just mix in very well to where it doesn’t do that.
Oh I see 😂. The essential oils do not devolve. They might leave a little residue in the bath. You can choose to omit the essential oils and just light a candle while your taking your bath.

There is no difference between flakes or powder.
This is the first whipped soap recipe I've seen that has sodium hydroxide. Don't you have to cure it for at least 6 weeks before use, just as you would bar soap, to avoid chemical burns? I mean...that's fresh LYE.
As soon as the soap is saponified, the sodium/potassium hydroxide no longer exists - it has transformed into soap. Curing is to allow excess water to evaporate, therefore making the soap harder. It is a common misconception that curing has anything to do with the lye. In fact, hot process speeds up saponification, so in theory, the soap can be used safely right away.
I have what is probably a really stupid question: It looks like you incorporated 2 different lye's. Why?
It is to have a harder consistency. If you want a softer consistency just use KOH.
But it's not clear and it has bubbles ☺️🤣

You can store it in any jar of your choice. You can reduce the amount of water, glycerin or liquid oils in the mixture.

If I make niacinamide serum with hyaluronic acid without using any preservative, how do I store it and what will be the shelf life? I heard that hyaluronic acid serum should be stored in fridge but niacinamide shouldn't be stored in fridge. So how do I store it?
The serum is shelf stable and does not require any preservatives. The shelf life is based on the manufacturers recommendations, ask your suppliers for that. You can store it in plastic or glass jar, just keep it away from the sun.

Yes it is the same base.

Yes you can add sugar, I prefer to add mine after so that the sugar can retain some of its grit. I will not get hard again after it has been whipped, If you let it cure for weeks before you whip it, it will get hard. But if you whip it first it will stay fluffy.
How can i add aloe vera into the mixture?
You can add aloe to your lye solution, although you would have to reduce your water by the amount of aloe you are adding, I find it is better to add aloe juice than aloe jel, less chance of discoloration. Also try to avoid overheating as best as possible if you can.

If you use Sodium Hydroxide it would firm up a lot and it would be very difficult to whipp.

Your welcome, let me know how it goes. If you are going to add more of any ingredients it should be KOH.
I think I over cooked it ? It was not as fluffy as soon as I put in my kitchen aide it would clump up and harden into semi soft chunks ... I think i will turn it into laundry soap if I can get it crumblely in my food processor. Will try again though and cook it less .. I doubled the recipe I think this time will not double and see how it goes.

I would say Grapeseed oil... a cups worth... start at smaller amounts at a time then work your way up and see what works for you.. looks the be the consistency of a bath bomb before setting it
