Actually have to go flash water at the temple entrance to clean yourself before enter to the temple. The robe was extremely wet after so many wet and cold men climb the robe.

That is japanese traditional wear. Putting underpants would defeat the main purpose.

Not an insult as you might not know the Japanese culture :) That is a traditional festival, that Funsoshi is kind of the traditional thing for Japanese men to wear :) That is not the Sumo's "uniform"

We have a "Bay to Breakers" run here in San Francisco. Quite a few people run it naked. 13 miles I think. I'm not keen on that, but each to his/her own.

It was really cold, our feet were numbed running on the wet floor with snow for about 2km.
