Raise the Yard Gutter Floaty Thingy!?
My rain gutters empty into a hose that runs out to my yard. The problem is that they were installed before sod and the sod has buried them so they back up and start coming out of the gutter by the house. Not good. So, I fix them using a hobby 3D printer and some CAD designing. Whodathunkit?

This video explores the science to bridge and saddle placement for acoustic guitars. We also prep a guitar top and get read to install a bridge fro proper intonation of the guitar. I am playing with a new camera and even though I had it at 60 hz and shot in 4K 60fpm, I still have flicker and poor color quality. I now shoot in 120 hz and it seems to be better, but I am still figuring things out....

Two J Tech lasers on Onefinity CNC? We can do that! Use one for cutting and one to engrave.

In this video we see if a 7watt and a 24 watt J-Tech lasers can be used on one CNC. Spoiler - IT CAN BE DONE! Watch how I take two diode lasers (a 7watt that is better for engraving and a 24 watt diode laser that is better for cutting) and incorporate the two so they work on one CNC to get the best of both worlds. I have the Onefinity original Woodworker (32" x 32"), one 7 watt J-Tech Diode las...
There has to be a better, yet cost effective way to do this - HELP ME PLEASE

This is an hour's worth of work condensed to 1 minute, because, well who could watch this process for any longer. You will see this guitar body had some nice reflection already due to the hour or so I spent sanding from 600g to 5000g. I have been dreaming of the StewMac buffing system, but I have to do what fits in the budget and make it work. This does a great job for now. If anyone has a cost...

Garden Watering, getting ready for a drip system, Part 0
มุมมอง 995 หลายเดือนก่อน
I tapped into my main irrigation water (city irrigation, not drinking water) so a back flush preventer is already installed. I dug and plumbed in a line that was always on to supply three hose bibs (one for each garden box). Today I woke up and thought, "silly me why didn't you put in a valve and wire it so you can control it with your sprinkler system?" I didn't answer, I just got to work. I a...

    I made the same mistake !! I ordered the 44w first cuz they say its the best on the market!! Then after reading ALOT! i learned, thats better for cutting so i ordered the 7w+ 24volt version just the head. All ill have to do is unplug and swap out the head. Hope i dont wish for the 14w one myself!!!😂

    Nice project. Sticking to the wasteboard was that double sided plus single sided? Or 2 sets of double sided? PS. Hope the neck surgery went well. Take time to recover, don't rush!!

      Good question. I use single side tape on the back of the work piece and matching strips of tape on the waste board. I use medium viscosity CA glue on the waste board tape and accelerant on the work piece tape. Then, I line the tape strips up and press it down. Of course it was dry tested to make sure it was lined up with the X and Y axis before using CA glue. I hope that helps. So far the intense arm pain is greatly reduced and I’m just waiting to get sensation and strength back in the left hand. Thanks for the well wishes.

    A vacuum pod based finishing area is very useful for quickly securing objects to sand and buff. You'd be surprised how much nicer it is working on a fixed object.

      That is a dream of mine. I’ve seen some with that set up and it looks pretty slick. Thanks for the tip, I’ll look into some options maybe some DIY vacuum pod options.

      @@nelsonoriginals I really like Pierson Workholding 1/8" and 1/16" cord gasket material and they have custom endmills with built in chamfer that make gasket slots perfect (I use cnc router). Would not recommend their SmartVac3 since it's a 1cfm vacuum flow rate pneumatic vacuum generator that costs $600...SMC have plastic body vacuum generators with 2cfm vacuum flow rate for $35-$40... 2 piece vacuum pods are easy to make, can either glue them together or put a gasket around perimeter and bolt together or just have generated vacuum suction the 2 pieces together. I'd recommend a 5cfm or 10cfm vacuum flow rate pneumatic vacuum generator or electric vacuum pump. Non porous wood or material works with only 1cfm vacuum flow rate, porous wood needs more flow rate. A couple 3"x3" or 4"x4" vacuum pods should hold most things you're finishing.

    The grid system looks cool but why not a sprinkler or soaker hose? I’m afraid my weed weasel would ruin it.

    • @nelsonoriginals
      @nelsonoriginals 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are correct, it does look cool. I have found that most gardening professionals suggest not using a sprinkler for a couple for reasons. The main two being that sprinklers succumb to increased evaporative processes as water is on the leaves of the plants and flying through the air. Some suggest water on the ground at the base of the plants absorbed in the soil where water is most effective. Plus, the plant foliage acts as shade and decreases evaporation form the ground level, meaning less water to do the same job. The other aspect is that some plants are susceptible to molds or other disease, such as in tomato plants. The weed weasel looks like something you should always be afraid of. The grid water system is mainly used for square foot gardening and you are correct, the watering system could be in the way. I found very little about using the weasel with the grid system other than suggesting that the soil remains loose and damp so weeds are easily hand pulled. They also make a hand held look-a-like to the weasel that may allow you to work within each grid around larger plants, but if you are planting 16 carrots or radishes in a square foot space, good luck. it may be easier to pluck by hand.
