He was so smart and articulate... can you believe he was only 29 here? So sexy and gorgeous!
I was at this concert.

The best person I miss him what a loss to music
My all time favorite music is from 74-84 great Era great music an Mr.Mahoney falls in this category Old school guy and yeah down to earth I was glad to his commercial skits in his older days Funny stuff
God bless you Eddie Money. So many great songs, the boy from my parts, NYC, and I still love listening to you.❤
He was such a nice guy love this interview.
great voice rip while in paradise c u soon
Man watching that interview really takes me back. I was 11 years old when he did that
I wanted his hair really bad. He Had great hair along with his music
Regular Rock music was great. It united a broad section of people. Stuff like Eddie Money, The Stones and even Boston, etc. It was Rock with sometimes harder aspects, but still had walking basslines, and drew very heavily from R&B/ Motown, with guitars in place of the horns, or sometimes, added to the horns section. like early Aerosmith and the Stones.
What a sweetheart 💕
I miss this guy it was so sad that he passed
I have seen many of the great rockers from 1976 forward. ACDC, Foreigner, The punk bands. I seen a lot of live shows.. I saw Eddie in 1977 at Winterland. I was a San Fran Bay Area kid.. He blew us away. Absolutelty, blew our doors off. Jimmy Lyons on guitar was incredible as well. I hold that show, "Ronnie Montrose" was the other act, as one of the absolute best shows I have ever seen. . I survived the very same cancer that took Eddie, at least so far. And I was diagnosed very close to the time he was diagnosed. .This was one hell of a guy and I was deeply saddened to see him taken away. I actually shed a tear for his passing. With him went a piece of my youth and in some way, a piece of the memory of how happy and uncomplicated youth is in its best moments I hope he is in a better place.
He is Sweeeeet
I will always love him
He’s so adorable. ❤
Nice guy.
Apparently this is a concert because you can barely hear music in the background and there would be no reason for a police barricade. So maybe he is high but he also may have tried to answer the questions as fast as possible OR he was just a fast talking New Yorker. Obviously a genuine dude !! Refreshing !
H*** yeah, love every song and got to see him once where everyone was as drunk as he was lol
Eddie must of really liked pork chops, he mentions them in a Dan Rather interview decades later! 😆
Love Eddie Money ♥️ Fell in love with him in Junior High and never stopped! My forever crush!
He didn't age well, too much of the nasty stuff.
Jeez this is incredible...wow the filming and era so cool...looks just like 1978 to me.
Ray leiota interview
Ray Liota? What r u talking about? Nobody there looks like Ray Liotta?
The accent maybe ?
Pork chops, potatoes & mom happy for her son. Eddie 💲 R.I.P. Money Man🙏
Eddie was so down to earth and funny! I loved his music as a youngster in the 70's & 80's!
He’s an Island trees graduate and I’m ion the island
Back in the day it was so much easier for someone to put out a record. Nowadays you gotta be pretty.
Here are some good songs released recently: Deep Sea Diver - Impossible Weight Soccer Mommy - Your Dog Mitski - Your Best American Girl Courtney Barnett - Rae Street Waxahatchee - Fire Real Estate - Crime Drive-By Truckers - Puttin’ People On The Moon Pinegrove - Darkness
@@wildmercuryfilms You know, I got turned on to alot of great bands from people who do what you did here. There should be more people here on TH-cam recommending music to others. Good for you, and I'll check out your recommendations. Check out a band I love called The New Mastersounds. My favorite album of theirs is called 'Ten Years On'. Whole album is on TH-cam. Cheers!!
Cocaine’s a helluva drug.
Everyone was on coke or some other speed back in the 70s & 80s.
@@michaelmace924 Not Eric Clapton. Not Linda Ronstadt. Not James Taylor. Not Stevie Nicks. Not George W Bush. Just Kidding: They were all high on coke.
R.I.P Eddie Money miss you dude i loved your concert i went to years ago
Me too! Westbury Music Fair "In the round" with Loverboy & Survivor!
what.... a...... cool..... guy!!!!!
If this was when Eddie did one of the Dr.Pepper shows,I was there that day.He opened for The Kinks.
God, he was adorable here. So smart and fast talking and funny and sweet...
She don’t like she don’t like she don’t like..,,…..cocaine.
@@wildmercuryfilms she don’t lie* But also there are many people who talk that fast without cocaine, I’m one of them. It’s also a musician thing, many musicians speak very quickly
@@wildmercuryfilms «She don’t like» 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
young eddie 👍
Aww Eddie you shoveled snow to buy records...when you really love music you will do anything to hear it. When I was in high school working part time half my pay went to my mom to help out and the rest went for records. I can relate. ❤ you Eddie.
Good on ya' for helping mom out! : - )
@@robjones8733 I loved her so much...I'd do it all over again. She introduced me to all of the great music I love today.
Great interview Lloyd.
Thanks, Robert!
R.I.P. Eddie 💛
His son Joe looks EXACTLY like his dad here..Julian & Des..and Jess...
Never met the man but was 2nd roll center at his concert think it was in 88-89 the No Control tour absolutely wonderful. I still listen to him all the time my favorite song of his is i wanna go back. I think it was the first song of his i heard. Fell in love with it. Bought his cassette and found his music wonderful
Imagine Studio 54 did not let him in
That's a badge of honor. I'm guessing at some point they wanted him to come but knowing him he said F YOU!!
wow
He sure was a cutie! He was down to earth and even though he rebelled and got on drugs he still had a solid respect for his parents. It's admirable!
He may have been high, but so honest and open. I met him around '83..very shy.
Eddie and Ronnie James Dio were friends. When Dio has your back? You must be a solid person. RiP Eddie and Ronnie.
😘😍😔
Met Eddie at one of our many festivals here in Arkansas. The kindest man I've ever met. Humble man.
It's good to be humble and real. This is a lesson for all of us.
Really cool interview and I can relate to not sounding funny when around other East Coast people. This guy is as down-to-earth as anyone can be, regardless of fortune and fame.
LOL... this is a fantastic interview..! I met Eddie in 1983? at Niles Station near Fremont CA. He played with his old band in this tiny bar. RIP Bill Graham and Eddie.!!
My all time favorite singer. I absolutely loved loved Eddie Money. My heart hurts so much.
It hit me really hard this morning. I met him through a good friend of mine back in January he was such a kind man not to mention his incredible music.
@@quentindugger5389 I met him at my friend's wedding. He was the entertainment for the night. Great man.
That is amazing. I got to meet him for the first time back in January.
@@quentindugger5389 Awesome
I will always miss him. So many memories. My mom got so sick of listening to him. LOL I used to just laugh, shut the door and get lost in " gimme some water " I can almost smell F street. My digs.
It was all for nothing with cigarette in his hands.
Haha Long Island too this guy's dirt poor mmmmhmmm. It wasn't Martha's Vineyard was it that slum.
Ignorant comment.
Love this guy but he talks about growing up poor, moving to Santa Monica in and out of school, bands and trouble and then talking Berkeley which isn't exactly cheap. Somebody was helping pay for somethin...I know people who would never have a chance to move anywhere like that one time they are so freaking broke. hell even my first trip to California wasn't until I was almost 40 cause I couldn't save up the gas and never even been out of the country cause it's not affordable, if I want food next week. Love his hits but it's funny he thought he was pretty poor. Maybe things were just cheaper too.
in the late 1970s and early 1980s Berkeley and the Bay Area was very affordable to live.. houses were $40,000. Apartments were $300. per month
Youdate You obviously don’t know what you’re talking about.
He said he lived in Oakland, too. Not exactly upper class although there are nice, funky areas. People think visiting California is expensive. Some things may be...like Disneyland...but there are so many things to do that are free or low cost. Back in the 80s, my sister in law came to CA for a visit. Drove to L.A. from Orange County. We bought a map of the stars homes for 5 or 10 dollars. We drove around for hours looking at beautiful homes, laughing, making up stories. It was one of the nicest days I ever spent in my hometown. Museums have free days. The beaches are free but parking can be a challenge. Driving the 1 and or 101 is some of the greatest scenery anywhere. Some cities have weekly concerts that are free... All a person can do is search the internet, its all there.
He took a leap of faith and followed his dreams. I am sure it wasn't easy moving to California from NewYork. He paid his dues. I really doubt your assertion that he was given financial assistance.
Dude worked his ass off to get where he eventually got. His family had no background in the entertainment industry, he had to find capable musicians, find the right material to appeal to the general public, and do lots of touring to get exposure and prove his talent. Before he hit it big he was an nyc cop. How many celebrities (esp. ones from a privileged background) ever did that kind of work?
