Battery Testing/Charging for Dummies ~ This Made It EASY!
We sheared the shaft in the ps pump this week ...That was fun. Why the hell doesn't the English language have a punctuation for sarcasm? It's almost 2025! For Pete sake!
At least we have the finger
I used to take a gallon ziplock bag, unscrew top off empty bottle, cut top off the bottle and put inside bag at one of the corners, snip the corner off and screw on the spout over outside corner of the bag, fill bag with gear oil and open spout and squeeze bag. That’s the hack we did back before the squeeze bags were a thing.
I switched to an edlebrock mechanical fuel pump and never changed a pump again.
Right on 👍
The rear probably was swapped because those cars were basically built like the early 2000s gm cars, lol
Do SN95 axles bolt in? I know there's a whole bunch of similarity, and the front suspension is really popular to 5 lug swap foxes.
Sn95 housings are wider. You can use the whole sn95 rearend and just change up your backspacing on yer wheels. Gets ya rear disc too.
That's good to know. I bought a Killshot kit but don't have anything to put it on yet lol. I hate it when life gets in the way of having fun!!
I hate stingy and bitey insect things! 😠
What about backlash?
Normally I'd care but I've done so many i felt it was about spot on so just ran it. And since September it hasn't made a sound
Just put 8.8 in it , they should be reasonable priced
It was cheaper to do this. But eventually probably put in the 8.8
Is that 454 engine for sale??
No
You got right
Always the hard way
Better than the expensive way
Begs the question well if the pump failed why is it working now if you didn't replace the pump?
I changed the mechanical pump in New Mexico but it was to late it had already ruined the electric pump in the original tank 👍. It's in my Duct Tape Drags video.
I never look at the screen and yell wtf you doing because i am not a tinkerer or mechanic so i watch to learn. I do question wtf when you call yourself out because you know you should and i believe in if you half ass something or cut comers because of laziness then your just going to end up doing it again when all you had to do was do it right the first time. Lol
I get pretty hard on myself
Camera man need a raise
Which one lol

You've got a new door gasket!
Same gasket as when I found it in the scrapyard 15 years ago
Ashley. Looks like the copper would burn up
Nope, already been running it this year again.
It is good to see he's dialed in now. It has been an entertaining journey for me.
Adventures with Austin has put 3 or 4 new mechanical fuel pumps on his 70 Lamans with a 455 as well!!! Some garbage fuel pumps!!
Know Austin well. And yip we've spent hours bitching about parts.
@IrishOutlawGarage ROFLMFAO!!! Sounds like my cousin and I !!!!!
@GrandPitoVic why I tell people always take a fuel pump, starter, and water pump on long trips in the hotrods. Cuz they're all junk.
@IrishOutlawGarage I have a 2018 Kia soul that I use for work and I have a starter in the back of it. Starter, alternator and fuel pumps are always a great idea to have on board any trips. Definitely!!!
@@IrishOutlawGarage Forgot water pumps as well as you mentioned lol. That's another one lol
ok, i'ma go out on a limb here... 21:46 in and already you have stated you don't have a shop...i beg to differ... you do have a shop.. it's just full.. i'd be willing to be, if you cleaned out the full lit concrete floored garage you are working in the doorway of, not only will you have lit covered work space, you will also find a ton of things you thought you lost!... i'm kinda new to your channel, but after 5 videos, same thing.. nice garage FULL and you gotta work in the damn rain? hell no.. clean your garage how ever long it takes and get organized... you got this!
Well, sounds easy enough. Been told that very same thing since I started my Channel. There's a point I'm making that anyone can do it. But there's also the fact that I have pulled the front of a car in there and jacked it up only to have the jack fall through the floor. There's no support. It's not a shop. It's a glorified woodshed. Floor is basically quickrete over sand.
But yeah, it needs a good clean out 😁. It's engine building time.
Missed it, but subbed now Jay, greetings from the UK 🇬🇧 👍 old wagons rule (Old-ish in my case) Appreciate what you are doing 😎👍
Thanks!
I have almost 20k on my production prototype killshot classic. I am happy to see the pink one out in the wild. The iac will move around a bit as the fuel trims get closer to targets. Good job on such a cool build.
This thing not only runs good it's an eye catcher. The Classic may go on my 73 Chevelle. Plus I have a few other projects for spring. 👍
I have been trying to decide between killshot and sniper. Thanks for helping me decide. Great channel!
It really is a great setup
Both are better than fitech because the apps are easy to find. Android, apple, windows
I might get the Kit they have for 599
You talk too much. Show us, don't tell us.

Hey Jay I appreciate the update. I found your channel because I'm a hearse guy and I'm about to start installing a Killshot on my 68 caddy hearse. I like your content and I'll stick around.
👍 Once you get the hang of it you'll love the Killshot
awsome mate love it
Thanks
I think my blood pressure spiked watching you easy out that transmission case. Worst name for a tool ever- most of what they do is make my life harder. 😂
Jay me and my wife met you on power tour and got zeppelin’s autograph. I’m sure you already know but the reason the kick down cable comes through the fire wall is the car had a factory turbo 400 trans the kick down works off the accelerator
It was a factory th350 with cable controlled kickdown that hooks to the accelerator pedal. TH400's have electric servo kickdowns 👍
My bad I never knew a th350 had a kick down like that live and learn
Jay I’m an over the road trucker too I’m still watching the chevelle video I would like to support the channel but not sure how
@staceyrenaweiner just watching is plenty. I appreciate that
@@IrishOutlawGarage I like your channel me my wife and grandkids put a cam and whipple on my third gen challenger she’s killer what about dalton putting a rough body fixes on Zeppy’s chevelle then nascar wrap it. Also I’m watching your last ace’s video you said you could buy fuel pump anywhere why didn’t that happen
Ramble away Jay, ramble away!
Such a cool car
Thanks
I'm starting the installation of a killshot on my '66 mustang in a couple days. Appreciate the video
Awesome!
That engine sounds good. Good. Good job. New parts suck
Tell me your pissed off without saying your pissed off lol. Gotta love them brand new Chinesium parts and I feel your pain.
Great job with the engine install. Glad you got it running. Thanks for posting. New subscriber.
Thanks!!
Don't hold back Jay! Tell us how you really feel 😂
Now I see that plastic line you’re using for oil pressure 😂
That's temporary. I keep 2 to 3 copper kits in my tool box for when I mount the actual gauges in the car.
Jay stop buying junk please it’s cheap for a reason not because it’s quality stuff. Spectra is garbage and the hardware is even worse. You make way to many problems for yourself that don’t have to be. Hate to be that guy man but cmon you say you been doing this stuff a long time.
Here's the reason I keep buying cheap. Because it's unfortunately affordable to the average person. And when I head to orielly or any parts store for warranty it's replaced no questions asked. For example I bought that Edelbrock AVS2 directly from Edelbrock. Was garbage out of the box. Called and called and Gdamn called, email after email... NOTHING HOLLEY same damn thing. I've tried Holley and Edelbrock fuel pumps... junk. I'm not a corporate backed influencer. Like some. And I never wanna be. I wanna stay in the realm of the average Joe or Jill in their driveway. Plus I enjoy bitching about it all 😁🤣
Look like you don't know what you're doing. Poor kid
It doesn't matter whose name is on the part. It's all made in the same Chinese factory. I am convinced of this. Imagine all the labor hours being eaten in the repair shops due to crappy parts and having to reinstall replacements.
Different boxing but same parts.
