Can Seeds Be Saved From Rotten Tomatoes
มุมมอง 1614 หลายเดือนก่อน
After being gifted some delicious tomatoes from back home, I couldn't stand to have any go to waste, so the two that became overripe before I could eat them were salvaged by collecting the seeds for next year's garden. This is a relatively simple process, but it is so worthwhile.
The Scoop on Canning Hot Dogs

Because I was concerned that those new to canning may pick up the wrong information on what some consider safe canning practices, I researched the subject of canning hot dogs, and this video discusses my findings. I guess you could say that my background as a paralegal and a retired librarian does come in handy at times. For more details, check out my article at preservingsweetness.com/home-can...

Thumbs up.
I remember many days of shelling butter beans and peas. I love the way it sounded with the beans hitting the inside of my aluminum bowl.
Clever! Thank you
Thank you for this video .
Yes! Finally someone to just answer my question! Thank you sooooo much for the short straight to the point video and the quick recap at the end! 👏👏
Thanks, T White!
Will hot chocolate work?
You could substitute hot chocolate mix for Hershey's Cocoa, but the taste wouldn't be the same. Also, hot chocolate mix usually contains sugar, so you will be adding extra sugar into the mix. Thanks for the question.
I never saw anyone make chocolate pie in a skillet. Why not a pan?
Thank you for posting this recipe! Our parish has a Christmas fair and the older gentleman that faithfully has made this is now too ill to do it. His fudge recipe has come down to me but there were SO many ladies asking for divinity candy. Bless you ma’am and bless your mother for teaching you. ❤
I love your southern accent and pie.Just like my mother in law . I miss her so much ❤
Thanks so much, Asianredneckwoman!
I love that you wiped the homemade vanilla jar off and that you mentioned humidity. These seeming small details are so important. ❤
Thanks, Cam!
Thank you so much for sharing ❤
Thanks, KC!
Can anyone recommend what's the best tea to use please? I'm assuming British tea is way different from American tea.
Thanks for this info 🎉
You're welcome!
Very helpful!!!
Thanks, Jay!
I do cut the bigger ones stems.
Yes, the bigger ones are often tough.
I use scissors to cut the tops of. They grow back.
I DONT LIKE THAT NOT ONE TIME DOD U SHOW THE PAN WHILE MAKING NOR WHEN STIRRING. JUST THE FINISHED PRODUCT 😢
I take it that my video has completely ticked you off, but at that time I was just learning how to make videos, but I was trying.
AND....... SUGAR IS POWDER SUGAR... ALL THE SAME, LADY
Thank you, but there is definitely a difference between granulated sugar and powdered sugar.
LADY!!! HALF & HALF IS NOTHING OMG NOTHING LIKE HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM
I'm aware that half & half has about half the milk fat of heavy whipping cream.
Is the flour all purpose or self-rising?
You can use either kind. I've used both and there is no obvious difference.
@@PreservingSweetness Thank you!!
When you’re spooning the fudge into the pan, use a buttered spoon or spatula, it’s much easier.
Thanks! That's an excellent tip.
How long does it take for the potatoes to be ready to harvest from the time you plant them?
Hey, It's Only Me! It depends on the variety, but it averages 80 to 100 days.
@PreservingSweetness thank you!
I have to tell you I’ve been trying to find this recipe for years! A babysitter of mine used to make this when I was little and this is such a favorite of ours!!!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ONLY THE BEST OLD FASHIONED CHOCOLATE PIE RECIPE LITERALLY IN THE WHOLE WOrlD‼️ SHE IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME ‼️👍
Thank you so much, Ted!
Should ALWAYS wait for it to cool, cut it, and show finished product! 👍🏻
Thanks for the tip!
Can you add a good soft ginger cookie recipe ?
My mom beat her fudge in the sink with a little cold water under the pan. You had to think fast when it got thicker and know when to pour it after the soft ribbons stayed instead sinking. I have always made fudge the same way. If it didn't set up fast enough she would scrape it back in the pan right away and cook it a little longer. Crazy short woman.
We always did that, too. When I made the video, I followed the original recipe instructions and left out my mother's changes. It sounds like your mom and mine made it the same way, and that was the right way. Thanks so much for the comment! It brought back good memories.
Perfect timing for the holidays! Yum!
Hey, Knothead35! Good to hear from you!
I love a good sugar cookie. Yum!
Thanks, Onestepatatime!
I love you soooo much it was sooo good
Many thanks, Jean!

Thank you!
My pleasure!
You can tell the stoned grandkids did the music and editing.
Lol! There were no stoned grandkids; it was my grown son with a sense of humor gone wild. Thanks for the comment!
Thank you very much for sharing these treasures with us grandma
You're welcome! Thanks for the comment!
Thank you I just bought a new glass top stove and glad to know I can use my old cast iron pans.
Hey, Richard! Thanks for the comment!
This is better than teflon and ceramic pan.
Yes, they are!
Very informative! I didn't realize you shouldn't just double all ingredients.
Thanks, Knothead35! Have a great day!
Thank you for sharing your insights! Will be using cast iron for cornbread and sharing the news with my family.
Thanks!
Thank you honey!
You're welcome!
Yum
Thanks, Anna!
I love squash and onions! Was bummed that my sister didn't grow any this year for me to can. Ate my last jar a couple of months ago. I've never boiled mine. I just throw it all in a large skillet and let it cooke down until it's browned well and the onions are Caramelized. Salt and pepper and sometimes i add aome curry spices.
Oh, my! That sounds yummy!
Thanks granny for sharing this. I really hope u and other grannies can share this kind of advice in youtube since the traditional way of cooking is really important than quick fix cooking method nowadays. Thank u ❤
You're welcome, almondtree17! I am also concerned that young people are growing up without knowing what real food tastes like and have to suffer the consequences of health issues that accompany eating processed foods.
I grew so much yellow squash this year, chopped it up and threw it in the freezer, now I know what to do with it! Thank you Nana!
Hey, Ravenor907! This is one of the few ways previously frozen squash is good. I also have my mother's favorite squash casserole recipe, which is delicious even when frozen squash is used. I need to share that recipe, but I'll look it up and send it to you in a day or two. Have a great day!
I made dry kidney beans about three weeks ago and ruined them i put the baking soda in while the beans was boiling exploded everywhere ran all over my stove it took forever to clean up that mess up my mommy passed in 2019 at 91 the best southern cook i ever known so i didnt have my mother to ask what i needed to do but now that i found you a good older southern woman i will be using your recipe thank you very much for sharing ppl like myself really need someone older that know what they are doing i can look to for some help thank you and keep the recipes coming i wish you well ❤❤😊
Thanks, Tee! I so appreciate your kind comments. I'm very sorry you don't still have your mom around to ask for advice. I lost mine in 2016 and miss her so much.
Just ate opened,11 years old Smuckers organic Concord grapes jelly. Still good 😊
That's great! Thanks for the comment!
Love sausage and gravy over biscuits! I havent made this in many years. But when i do i have to quadruple the pepper. My husband loves pepper!
Hey, Knothead35! Mine does, too, but I can't eat it with so much pepper, so he adds more to his serving. Have a great day!
Nice gravy! I do like how you didn't just dump all the milk in at once. No lumps that way. However I was hoping you'd show how you made your biscuits. Blessings
Hey, Paul! Thanks! My first video shows how to make the biscuits. The link is th-cam.com/video/_t-p8YxyC2w/w-d-xo.html. And thanks for the comment.
@@PreservingSweetness Oh, ok. Sorry that I didn't research to see if you might have done one on biscuits already. Thank you. I'll go look at it soon. Blessings
@@MrBearbait75 No problem, MrBearbait75! Have a great day!
Always use wooden spoon.
Does it come out as good in a double boiler? I don’t have any cast iron cook ware
Yes, it does. I also occasionally make it in the microwave in the Pampered Chef batter bowl. It cooks in about 6 minutes in 2-minute increments while stirring well in between.
