เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 20 พ.ค. 2014
Exploring the world of books through one person's collection. / Reading and reviewing all 200+ paperbacks in my paperback-fiction bookcase. / Also reading and discussing all of Dostoevsky. / Also just talking about books from my apartment-filling collection, every day, a collection distilled from my previously much-larger collection, so it's all good stuff worth-keeping. / Book-obsessed Booktube people, come warm your hands at this channel's fire. Favorite authors include Dostoevsky, Virginia Woolf, James Joyce, James Agee, Camus, Shakespeare, F. Scott Fitzgerald, P.G. Wodehouse, Annie Dillard....

The book collection is dream!
Hey, thanks! You're so nice to say that. Made my day.
You're my only daily watch, man. Discovered by complete chance and you've genuinely encouraged me to read wider. Keep it up
I tried to read V, but didn’t last long …..
Same tbh!
FSF was a writer of genius and - unusually for writers of genius - a nice guy, too. He helped other writers, if he admired their talent. He worked himself into an early grave trying to ensure his wife had an adequate standard of care; he prostituted himself in Hollywood when he should have been concentrating on the sequel to Tender Is The Night. Imagine if he’d lived long enough to write five more novels of the quality of TGG and TITN! Beyond sad ……
What a great comment. And I agree.
A Farewell To Arms…a book I’ve attempted to read three times over the years, and have never finished.
Ha, I'm halfway through it right now, and same.
Yes, both Durrell and the Alexandria Quartet have been completely forgotten. There was a disastrous film version of Justine in 1969, which I haven’t seen. Few people under the age of seventy have heard of Durrell, which is shocking when you consider how high his reputation stood when he lived. And I think Anthony Burgess may be heading the same way …..
Wild! I appreciate your knowledge!
Speaking of the graffiti motif, I think you’ll like Krasznahorkai’s newest novel, Herscht 07769. It uses graffiti very interestingly.
Nice! Thank you. Will check that out! Hadn't heard of it.
❤❤
Hey, thank you! I appreciate that. A book collection is a cool thing to cultivate. I'll check out your book channel as well!
Been enjoying seeing The Collection. I also organize my shelves according to the format/type of book. I read Things Fall Apart last year and enjoyed it. Thanks for the ongoing tour.
Loving these videos man! Lot of great classics on your shelves
Hey thanks!
So many books and so little time! Here's to some great reading in 2025! Best wishes.
Thank you! So nice.
This is the content I want. Thank you for the shaky camera and everything. This is how youtube was in the beginning; "Broadcast Yourself" Subscribed!
Hey, thank you! This comment made my day.
Nice Collection, I need to get my collection on shelves soon and start building out my reading nook aka man cave room lol. great work!
Nice, and thank you. When you get your library all set up, you should film and post it too! I think it's awesome to have a really cultivated personal collection of something, especially books.
Knut Hamsun is the coolest person I share a birthday with!
Nice! That is a good one!
Sorry, tried to upload this for many hours. Phone was phonin'.
always sad when a favorite artist passes away, you may not have known them but you still feel it.
Exactly. Thank you for saying that.
been loving these over the last week or so after morning runs and marathon reading blocks. thank you for arriving on “booktube”
What?! Thank YOU for saying this.
Bernadette Meyers was the poet-author of MEMORY that I was trying to think of.
This kinda reminds me of my friends dad, he'd just buy an entire bookshelf of books and read them all in a couple months. P.S i really enjoy your videos
Hey, thanks! I appreciate that. And that guy helps me believe it can be done.
One of your videos game across in my recommended page and I'm hooked! I've been binging a bunch of your vids, esp the ones you've uploaded recently. I'm picking up Fathers and Sons based on ur rec and considering you enjoy dostoyevsky too. Keep up the great content
Hey, thanks! What a great comment. I hope you like FATHERS AND SONS!
Nice!
Looking good, glad the algorithm took me here
Yes, same!
I am so glad I found this channel by chance
Me too! Thanks.
Have you ever read crime and punishment? I'm reading it right now and it's pretty good
I love it so much! I'm so glad you're reading that. I could talk that book all day.
Do it man!
Thanks! I will!
looking forward to the channel. let us know which book you picked.
Thanks! I'm finishing reading A FAREWELL TO ARMS and THE SECRET SHARER & HEART OF DARKNESS which I was reading before this project started. But the first one I will read intentionally from it is MONTANA GOTHIC.
I dig it
A beautiful collection of books! I have been collecting books since the 90s and I really enjoy seeing these older books. Sadly I'm allergic to some old books, so I had to sell most of my books from the 20s to 60s. Also recently I read a book from 1966 that I was able to handle (To sir with love) and it broke in my hands...Your collection really shows a genuine love for books, literature and individual authors, which is so nice to see with the trend now a days being to collect all the books popular on tiktok rather than exploring older or more obscure books or buying second hand. Some of the best books I have found were random second hand finds by less popular authors. (no shade to tiktok, just that it gets boring seeing the same collections over and over.) Excited to see more of your collection and more book talk. Subbed.
I love this comment! Thank you. Though I am sad you're allergic to some books (and that that is even possible!). Thanks for subscribing and I look forward to further book discussions with you.
I love these old mass market paperbacks. Here in India, we used to get these in 90s and early 2000s but nowadays majority of bookshops and e-commerce website have trade paperbacks. I like trade paperbacks too but these small books are quite handy. You can easily fit into your pocket. The cover art on old mass market paperback fantasy novels is much better than the newer ones. Recently got some used old Asimov and Heinlein books. The books are surprisingly in good condition
Yes! You understand. I agree with all your opinions here.
Really?! Well, right back at you with that comment. Thanks! Made my day.
so glad to have stumbled upon this at 2 am...exactly the energy I needed <3
