Fact of the matter is, the enclosure in this video is just unacceptable. A good deed is WORTHLESS if you can't follow through with it til the end. I could rescue a puppy from a puppy mill that was forced to live in disgusting, filthy conditions, but that would mean nothing if I just tied it to a chain in a backyard all day. It's the same thing.

Like I said, you're niave & obviously uneducated on the topic of veterinary medicine, conservation, education & outreach. If an animal is sick & needs to be cared for, should it just roam wild? Of course not silly girl ... perhaps not all zoos are the same but Moorpark is an established facility that takes in rescued animals & cares for them as long as they are not able to return to the wild. If you have a love for animals, why not become educated & find positive ways to help rather argue.

cont'd, these animals suffer greatly at the hands of people. They have items thrown at them, they have things getting stuck in their fur. People are stupid enough to climb into the enclosures as well. The animals are harassed, irritated and stressed out. People bang on the glass and on the bars. Zoos are NO PLACE for a wild animal, and I don't care how great your zoo is, I can guarantee that the Melbourne Zoo where I live is far better, and even then it STILL sucks.

Since you are so insistant on pursuing this conversation, fine. A small cage is a small cage, and a free-roaming predator like a lioness does NOT belong there. Period. Why don't you enlighten me on what they did for the lioness, since you're so sure they helped her out. Did they put her in another cage? How is that any better? Did you know that most of the animals in zoos die from being poisoned by people or being given inanimate objects that they end up swallowing?

Scuba diving or snorkeling? I got scuba certified this summer (for SW, of course) and I saw a sea lion on my first ocean dive. It freaked me out so bad! lol

iOS very happy they are working towards more water work the whales need it and the trainers need it. Like!!! Love!!!!

I saw them doing this in SWT in August when I went to the marine zoological careers camp. They said that they are working to get the animals to ignore them so that when they can get back in they can work with them faster.

@shamuroxy I think Morgan would be well cared for in SWC. Corky did such a wonderful job mothering Orkid, Splash and Sumar, Morgan would be well cared for. Though, she could also be a wonderful playmate for Sakari in SWT and Takara is known to be a good mom (at least to her own calf's.) But, if they moved Trua to SWC, then Morgan could go to SWF with Katina who is like super mom with all the calf's she's raised/been around. My vote would be either Katina or Corky to care for Morgan :)

I think SWC has the best balance of adults to calf's. Kasatka gets tons of help from Corky/Orkid and all three females have been around many calf's in their time. SWF calf's to proven adult female caregivers is badly off, poor Katina (Since Kayla is known to be a bad mom.) Keep wondering when they will move a baby to SWC to help Katina out. I'd LOVE to see Orkid and Trua work together, he'd learn so much from her.

i loved corky 2's weird backflop thing at the beginning. i know it was probably supposed to be a backflip but still if they could teach the whales to all do something like that in the centre that would be amazing to see!!! :D
