Checking in on a Mockingbird nest

Just a quick peek at the chicks at the "Gated" nest this morning.

With the rain and wind wanted to check on this mockingbird nest. Mom was busy feeding between showers. At around the 1:20 mark you can see a chick cast a pellet and Mom take it away. I didn't think they did that. And after talking with a friend it most likely was a poop sac the chick had picked up and mom was taking away from him.

The storm is approaching the south Jetty.

When you are a skimmer and feeling frisky you bring your lady a fish

This nest lost their first two chicks and laid again. These two seem to be doing great and gives us bird nerds a bit longer to enjoy them since most all other nests have fledeged here now.

Just a quick peek at a local nest. This pair lost their first to chicks and laid a second clutch. They hatched sometime in April.
