what sheath and clip is that?
Amazing job! I listened to this audiobook over the past week as I went about my daily routine at the gym, work, ect. I really appreciate the work you put into this reading and your integrity reading it just as it is- with it being so controversial. Thanks for the amazing videos!
Thank you
I have been carrying Streamlights for years. As a chiller mechanic I probably put my lights through more hell than most people do and Streamlights have proven to be dependable for me. They usually last longer than I can keep up with them 😂
Nice, how often do you take off the scales to oil under them to prevent rust?
Honestly, maybe every other year.
@everydaybasicsurvival5940 Thanks, I was worried about having to constantly take off the scales if I were to do this, but it's good to know
*Correct. To hell with paint!*
Good story, but I wouldn’t to live in that world.
Are you still willing to do more books? I really enjoyed your reading, thank you. Maybe Mein Kampf.
I see why this book is considered a racist nazi Bible. Wow is it rough
If I’ll ever decide to remove one of the best protective coating in knife industry I will definitely choose this procedure on one of my favorite esse’s.👍
@18echo *ESEE is a knife with a cheap steel blade at an exorbitant price painted with colorful paint. Any paint is not suitable.*
Damn a racist and he can't read. I guess I should've expected it.
Very brave to put this on TH-cam, brother. o/ for that.
Sounds like McVeigh and Nichols took their plan for OKC right outta this chapter
Have you read Might Makes Right as a video?
I will take a look at it
Starts at 7.17 for those who value their precious lives.
..missed a spot ; P
Did you remove the dark grey primer off screen before soaking in Vinegar? I didn’t see you go through any sandpaper grits to remove the primer.
Everything came off with the stripper. I didn't need to use sandpaper.
What was accomplished ?
❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Just my 2 cents, but I feel like it would be better to tape off the handle portion, and just strip the blade. And use a hard plastic scraper to remove the coating so you don't have to buff out the scratch marks made by the metal scraper...
Absolutely, you can get as detailed as you like. I use and carry this knife most of the time so I'm not worried about looks or corrosion. I think everyone should try it and put their own spin on it. Share a video I guarantee I'll watch it.
@@everydaybasicsurvival5940 that's cool. I don't have a video to post. I've got a couple knives I need to strip. I did one a few years ago, but I've got more I need to do. I recently bought a Cold Steel Recon Tanto in SK5. The blade coating chipped out a big piece right away. So I was thinking I'd strip the blade. But I hate having to sharpen tantos!
@@jeffhanson2621 right on, I have couple I need to do as well.
Agreed, I also think the original coating, Under the handle could be left on... IMHO
From what I have seen in other videos there is supposedly a grey primer coating under the black, can't tell if this is true or not. Have any insight into that? I want to do this to mine, not a fan of the black coating. Thanks for the video 🏆
I have done a couple of these and have not come across any grey primer.
@@everydaybasicsurvival5940 I look forward to grabbing some stripper and doing mine sometime soon, thanks again 👍🏼👍🏼
I peeled off the coating on esee 4 and there was a layer of grey primer underneath the paintwork
@@chancethe9374 I wonder if they do it on some knives and not others, I have heard many mixed accounts of this phenomenon. I stripped my Esee 6 with paint stripper after watching this video and it was just flat grey steel (and quite attractive I might add) as far as I can tell. I just grabbed the knife, pulled it out and looked at it and it looks bead blasted and is a darker grey than the sharpened edge. I have to imagine that if it is some kind of coating it would have also been stripped away from the chemicals?
@EDChero I've not noticed any primer on any of my knives. I just assumed that others had not let the stripper sit long enough.
make a paste just of NaOH - works exactly the same and will save you some $
Really nice video👍👏. I think it would even better adding some shots of the knife completely reassembled. 😉🙂
All of that work, videoed in detail, then you get to the end I do not shoe the finished item with the scales back on, oiled and ready for use. Poor choice of editing.
Wish they could just offer a non coated edition or stone washed . That black crap is a mess and looks horrible after it has been used.
I agree.
🦆
After you stripped the factory coating off the blade did you have to do anything to make sure the logo/printing stayed visible? I'm wondering why it didn't patina like the rest of the blade, I was under the impression that it was just bare steel.
The logo and printing is laser etched into the steel was that you would have to buff out the area to remove the logo. It remains and looks good.
@@everydaybasicsurvival5940 Good to know. Thanks. I'm going to run this process on my ESEE soon. Just wanted to double check.
The fact that this is one of the few dystopian books thats so outlawed is scary. One, bc of how accurate is seems with the flow of politics and culture, but two bc it feels like its a legitimate warning as to what is going to happen to us. A rough blue print if you will.
I would add a couple of steps...I'd degrease the blade after washing it, with acetone or isopropyl alcohol, wearing rubber gloves to keep fingerprints off the blade. After washing off the vinegar, I'd dunk the blade in a solution of baking soda in water to neutralize any remaining acid, then wash in hot water before oiling. It's probably not strictly necessary, but it doesn't take long to do and it makes sure there's no remaining vinegar that might cause problems later.
Don't over think it.
Very useful video ! One question, what brand is that day pack you had in the opening ?
That is an osprey Atmos
Been Debating stripping, but i’ve been happy with taking some 3-1 oil and some sandpaper- 500,1000,2000 grit. Best of both worlds honestly
I might try that on another project. Sounds interesting

chicken so tasty everything tries to eat it.
Nothing better
These be a great way to test new camping gears😂 or an ad?
🤔
I just finished reading it myself, well written book (which I was constantly told it was poorly written), not the most racist book ever, not even close (even though some have said that it is such), I think it's an interesting and good read whether you agree with it or not.
It's definitely over hyped. I feel that it's an interesting plot and story just send a bit rushed.
God this is painful , is it written by a 12 year old ? I read 20 novels a year aprox . Don't know if I can even complete this in audio format
😂
