Flying by the Seed of my Plants
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 4 พ.ย. 2015
Hi my name is Beth, and this channel is about gardening. I have been gardening just over 30 years, and I am still learning. I am sharing different things I have learned through the years. Gardening has been a passion of mine. I love getting my hands dirty, and watching the miracle of seeds germinating and growing to put food on the table, or feeding the pollinators. I love to can my garden goodness, and share food with friends and neighbors. I also have a facebook page with the same name, there we share what we are growing, and ideas for garden beds, how to keep pests away, and sharing pictures of our garden, from seed to the fruit it bears, harvesting and preserving. I hope you enjoy, and welcome.

this was taken with my phone, not the greatest. But they did not get in my garden, it was the pesky groundhog. But applied more lavender Epson salt, around the garden.
July garden tour, Good and Bad

Well, something was eating my garden, while I was at work. So this was all discovered as I was giving the tour. Kind of blew me away, but as gardeners we all have something that can just let the air out of us. Still lots of good growth.

I going to plant my garlic this week if it dries out a little.
Hi. Great video. I pray I'm able to plant and grow mine in zone 6b this Spring. I have an air fryer. It has multiple temps. Perfect for drying.
@GoodChuteX2 thank you 😊
Yay, I was doing this the right way! I love snap dragons. They are beautiful. They are like little lips. If you pinch them gently on each side you can make them "sing" . Fun. Thanks for the video.
The yard looks great.
Thank you AL. 😊 need to get the inground garden cleaned up. The corn was delicious too. 😋
OMG! As you were making your impressions with the muffin tin, I said out loud that you should wet the soil first… seconds later… you did it! That was a good chuckle for the day. Can’t wait to see those purple carrots!
Lol 😆
Telepathy 😆
What's up with the fukken commercials... 🤦♀️

Thank you AL for all your inspiration.
Thank You for this video!! I loved it and the recipe!! I can hardly wait to make this dish!!
Thank you <3
Both dishes look amazing. Where do you buy you Italian sausage at? I made salsa for the first time in my life. Using Mrs wages salsa mix it came out pretty good only thing I did wrong was I cut the tomato to small.
Thank you AL. 😊
The salsa mix I found is really good too.
I bought the sausage from costco's, it's good, I need to find a butcher for italian sausage around here.
I'm wondering what type of filtering system you have? thank you
Hi Johnny it is called boogie blue plus.

@@johnnyshoe2229 thank you, and you have a wonderful day too
Thanks for sharing this wonderful looking recipe. Can’t wait to try some form of it 😁
Hope you enjoy 😉 😊
My Giant Belgium plants is over five foot tall with maybe some one ponders on it . I doubt I will get a five pounder. Still fun to try. Great harvest your peppers are fantastic. I planted my egg plant late still no fruit.
Wow. Not sure what happened with the giant Belgium in my garden. I have faith in it I think it just needs a push. I am going to get some more of the tomato booster too. It will catch up. Your garden is exploding. Love it. I will keep you posted on the Belgium.
I love your garden! Could you share with me about your arches, how long are they and how far apart are the planters they are in? ❤️
@stampinwithmoo8462 hi. The arches are 16 foot. Each end is to the bottom of the beds. So above soil they are 14 foot from one end to the other. The beds are 2 feet across. I have them butt up to the sides. There is 2 feet in the middle. I plant on each side. Its a little tight. But it works. I amend the soil and fertilize. Last year I didn't and I seen how much amending really mattered. In those beds. This year it's growing wonderfully. The plants are doing great. Just like the first year I put the arches in. There is a video of when I put the arches in. Thank you for watching and commenting 😀
@@flyingbytheseedofmyplants1948 thank you so much for sharing this information. I love the look of your garden. You’re so dedicated.
Very Nice Video, Thank you 😊
@necolestone1567 thank you 😊
So adorable
They are adorable. 😀
Garden looks amazing . Buy a cheap trail cam and it will record whats eating your plants.
Yeah I thought about that. It was just so unexpected. I let my guard down.
I feel your pain on the devastation!
Yes it was like what just happened. I put ghost pepper sauce around plants a pepper flakes. I left for a few hours today and so far so good
In that open spot you’re concerned about, maybe just put some random tomato cages in the way.?
I put a large garden box, that wasnt in use, and a wheel barrel, and on the other side some big chairs. but yes I think I will do the garden cages too.
And killer squirrel!
yes, I have many of those too. ugh
Ohhhh my heart is breaking for you! I’m have the same problem. Raccoons, groundhogs, opossums and skunks.
omg I was devastated, today blocked off places where I think maybe the deer jumped in, and put some ghost pepper sause and pepper flakes around the plants. I have to leave today, praying nothing gets them again while I am gone
Love this product! I use the body wash and it keeps my husband away!😂
🤣😂😅😄
😂 I thought I had the only lab on the planet that hates water!
LoL 😆 yeah Abby just doesn't like it. 🙃
I’ve had orange butterflyweed for a few years- didn’t see any caterpillars on it until this year- suddenly there were at least 25 caterpillars on just a few plants. So it can take a few years before the butterflies find the plants to lay eggs on.
My first year was awesome. It's declined since then so hoping for a good year
Have you ever gone to Wendy Park to see the monarch butterflies? It is a unbelievable site.
Not yet I see so many pics and have to make it.
Bumbling bee!
Great video. Once the tassels have opened and the silks have emerged, shaking the plants can help with pollination. I walk between each row and shake them very hard.. And yes lots of water.
Thanks Al yes I will shake them and maybe pull a tassel to brush on the silks. Thank you again for the starts. To be honest if you didn't gift those I probably would not have started them Thank you for the push. I'm excited.
Fantastic garden !!!
Thank you Diane 😊 💓
I always enjoy seeing your garden it looks amazing.
Thank you AL. Your garden looks amazing too.
I have the Excalibur dehydrator. It has an herb setting. I use that for drying the leaves. I use the Hamilton drying the power because the blower is at the bottom and the blower on the Excalibur is at the back side.
Thank you. 😊
I love those petunias Beth!
Me too. They are gorgeous. 😀 ❤️
Thanks for the tip of cutting my onion tops after storm damage. They are doing good now. Starting to bulb.
Awesome . Glad to hear that. 😀
Thank you for this video mine have never done that well.
Your welcome. Hopefully mine will do well this year too. Last year was good, but I got them in much earlier. But the fertilizer definitely helps.
I was going to ask you where you got the kneeler, I definitely need one of them. Great gift from your son 👍
I dont remember the name brand, but if you search the garden kneeler alot come up. I absolutely love it. No problems getting up from kneeling :) and able to flip it over to sit on it when working in the higher beds.
The garden is looking great.
Thank you Al
I have always tilled and planted deep not trenched. Its just easier for me to plant deep when planting a large number of plants. This year I used a post hole digger to make my holes and it worked well. 34 tomatoes and about 30 peppers.
I like that idea of the post hole digger.
Bad groundhog!
LoL yes.
Ya just have to love Abby. What was the name of the beautiful pink and purple flowers that you showed?
those are my petunias I started from seed. Double madness petunias. I love them, I did a video on starting them from seed. Abby is so good, and loves gardening too. lol
Lol, your dog is so funny. He thinks he's helping. You did a great job! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. 😊 Abby loves gardening lol. She is so funny, 😍
Hi Beth Ann. I am so happy I stopped by and got to meet you. I can't tell you how much your hints and tips on gardening has helped me. If that pineapple tomato doesn't taste like pineapple can I get a refund?
😆 Sorry Al no returns. LOL
You’re doing great. I’m doing exactly what you are. My garlic hasn’t come up either. First time trying it. I planted in late October in 5 and 7 gallon grow bags. Don’t know what to expect. 🤞
My garlic came up. But not sure if the tree roots ended up taking all the nutrients. I might pull 1 to see how they might be doing. They don't look as good as last year. And yes this year is definitely a slow year for gardening for me. But still moving forward with as much as I can. It's been a tough year for me for sure.
Where are the trees that the roots are coming from?
They are my neighbors trees. The one I think it's coming from is the maple tree. It's about 20 feet away. And they also have a large oak. So could be that one as well. I just never thought they would invade my beds. I have researched others having this issue. And their tree was over 50 feet away. It's crazy.
Wow that is crazy.
It is. Ugh.
Wow, who knew tree roots would invade your beds .
Hi Diane yes it's nuts. About the roots.
I have been wanting to grow some strawberries. What type did you plant? Your green stalk looks great.
The strawberries are eversw eet. If I remember, they are like the ever bearing. Strawberries all summer. 😀
