There may be some chert out there, but this is a well known Jasper area there’s also agate and other minerals in abundance, primarily Jasper
Thanks this area is affectionately known as the Mount Baldy Ruby collecting area, I did also say it is corundum. Some of them are quite red. Most of them are light, red, too pink or purple. It’s a fun spot. I hope they keep it open.
NOT a RUBY... those are PINK not RED.

I’m sorry this is a well-known opal area

Nice 👍 it’s always exciting to see what’s in there when you cut them in half!
I just cut my first thunder eggs this year. I like the water lines in them.
Love that song. Thank you ❤️

Good Morning from S. Idaho ! New SUB. TAKE CARE..
Thanks for the sub! And welcome to
Good job sir. One of the best instructional panning video's I have seen.
@@glennsmith2182 that’s a pretty big compliment thank you. I appreciate it.
The star won't appear until they are polished down to 1200 grit.
Thanks
Hi Can I use this method for my cracked thin walled agate bottle?
I’m not sure how the heat will treat your bottle, however there are clear epoxy choices, try Johnson’s lapidary on line and see what they have
damaging
Rockhounds don't die! They petrify.😅
LOL......I'd never make it thru this without a trip to the ER.
Interesting video. I think I'll use an old frying pan, as another responder mentioned. I doubt if I'll find anything here in Iowa, but it's more the fun of the chase. Thanks for the tip.
I'd say don't use 240p for video its so grainy and hard to see and also use a table.
Amazing❤❤❤

Have you tried your vacuum unit with just the resin and no rocks I would be willing to bet it bubbles without the rocks
I’m sure you’re correct. It looks like it’s bubbling all around when you look at the pictures in the video it’s sucking air out of everything so when it sucks the air out and as it cools the resin is going to fill those cavities in the rock
Also, putting in a vacuum low boiling point so it could literally be boiling
You kept calling the pale blue turquoise from the Shoshone Indian Reservation "White Buffalo". It says "Sacred Buffalo". There is no such thing as White Buffalo Turquoise. The Otteson (pronounced OTT-e-son)Turquoise company, in Nevada, sells the one and only "White Buffalo STONE" from their turquoise mines. This is the only mine that produces this type of stone. This is totally separate from the SACRED BUFFALO Turquoise that come only from the Shoshone Reservation.
I will go back and look, i stated at the beginning that the websites were not being quoted, unless I cited them specifically. I believe in general what I said was correct, but I may have directed attention to to a picture that did not align with what I was talking about my apologies
I love turquoise
Thank you soo much!! I've been having trouble cutting thin slabs and this is perfect!
Hi friend, our wire saw can cut thin slabs automatically
I can't see my comments, they are counted in the ticker above, if you check your analytics and see this comment on it, see if that does anything to the censorship
I see two comments here, not sure I only erased them if they’re rude and offensive usually cuss words
I like your truck, and I like that campaign sticker, amen.
I really hoped this video would solve my problem…but it’s frustrating to me that you don’t say where you got these parts from (looked it up, ice machine kits are expensive). Also, how did you attach that valve to the bucket? Looks like you needed something to keep it from leaking but you don’t mention how.
The plastic tubing that they use for an ice machine I think it’s a quarter inch or 5/16 inch. I’m not sure it usually comes with a fitting and it has a thread. I just found a nut that would fit the back of it and cut out a little piece of rubber Black rubber to make a gasket and snugged up a washer and nut on the inside of the bucket. those were items I just had around over the years they can be found at any hardware store
You could look on Amazon or eBay. There’s a lot of different ways to put a hole into a bucket and put a valve on it. It could be a garden hose valve. I’ve done that for a hydroponic set up that I had. I cut a hole in a 30 gallon bucket and they had awasher that fit into the hole and it would allow a certain size PVC pipe to slide through it and then I could just glue a threaded fitting with a plastic valve on there a threaded fitting with a brass valve. There’s a dozen different ways to do it if you’re not handy maybe try to find someone in your neighborhood that is handy to help you figure it out.
@@RadicalRocksthank you for the response…honestly I wasn’t really expecting one. I usually am handy, but I don’t know anything about plumping or the name of all of the parts, as I did have to look them up with a lot of trial and error. Spent all day researching how to set something up, but it seems like people aren’t very good at tutorials for newbies such as myself. I don’t wanna screw up or waste time, so id like to know exactly what I’m doing before I do it. That’s really hard, though… sorry if I came off as rude. Yesterday was rough
Here is one of many ways to pu a valve on a 5 gallon bucket. www.hunker.com/13425631/how-to-put-a-garden-hose-spigot-on-a-five-gallon-pail
Here is the connector from the hose bib to the quarter inch tubing. ¾” GHT Garden Hose Thread Female to ¼” Compression Brass Adapter (2 Pack) a.co/d/2DxHOwu
You claim there’s no silver in the black sands?
Or use a deep well socket and a hammer. If you don't mind the hammered finish that is.
Have you seen the coin ring stretcher, and shrinker
What’s the chords for the intro song?
First part EM. D6/9/F#.
Second part EM9. Dsus2/F#
Recién viendo el video y me encantó su máquina de lapidar demasiado ingenioso 👌💯👏🍀❤️.
Mucho Gracias
Is there any reason you can't use a silicone mat under them? Epoxy peels off easily. I do epoxy work and molds are silicone too, and silicone mats will handle heat to 400+ degrees.
I believe someone in the comments said they did that , someone else said they use saran wrap for the last cooling of your stones. Thanks for your comments
thank you .Is there a way to find the secret Of Zachery treatment?
It’s a closely guarded trade secret. There is speculation,, but I don’t have specifics
Will this work on tungsten? I heard the metal is too hard.
It will likely break, sounds like a good topic to research.
I bought a small green gem at a show

Do you really trust eBay?
I done ok, I know some sellers personally, but some look like they sell fake.
Thank you!
Nice work. That’s a huge chunk of Kingman! Its got that very light blue Sleeping Beauty color to it.
Interesting!!!! Show us more please
Love this
Thank you David, I appreciate you.
Why don’t you build a Work Bench!
I have one but sometimes the light outside is good or my truck bed is right there
Turned out good
Thank you
Beautiful.
Thank you!
Can you explaine Zachary treatment?
Here is the GIA link. www.gia.edu/gems-gemology/spring-1999-identification-zachery-treated-turquoise-fritsch
Basically it’s a secret possibly using heat pressure and a chemical mix of some sort the ends up increasing the potassium levels
Thank you
Man, I was able to rescue a number of old books. One that I saved (but is musty with white powder and I need to find how to clean) is: the 17th edition of Dana's Manual of Mineralogy
I’m not sure how you would clean the book but maybe you can re-copy it if it’s for your own personal use I don’t see the harm
@@RadicalRocks wow, man - that's actually the best idea I've came across, thank you for that! From my recent research, it seems that moldy/mildewed books can't really be permanently cleaned from the spores...
