Jan Allhas's poets are the best. I had many conversations with late Nimrod Simono around our nationalism. For him as shamas of catholic church, their church's ideology was higher than our Assyrian nationalism. We have to be careful when we are talking about nationalism.

Sir: I would like to address your statement. What about the Kurdish Muslims? How is it possible that you associated the Assyrians, Chaldeans, and Syrians with their faith, but when it came to the Kurdish people, you indicated that they don't belong to any faith but rather a nationality, claiming they are the true people of the land of so-called Kurdistan? Sir, I am a proud Assyrian from the land of Ashur, which today is called Iraq in the central and southern regions and Kurdistan in the north. We have been in the land of Ashur for the past 6,775 years. When archaeologists dig in the ground of today's Iraq, they find only Assyrian artifacts. Never once have they found Kurdish artifacts or any history of the Kurds in the land of Ashur, and that is because they are not the indigenous people of our land. They came from Afghanistan and have lived in today's Kurdistan for no more than the last 300 years. They migrated to the land of Assyria from Iran, Afghanistan, and the mountains of Turkey. They worked as shepherds, farmers, and helpers to the Assyrians and the Jewish people of Iraq. When the Kurds adopted the Islamic faith, only then did they gain strength; however, they were denigrated by the Muslim Arabs as second-class citizens, and that is still true today. To prove my point, Kurds number over 60 million people worldwide. Why are all the Arabs fighting for the Palestinian Arabs to have their independent country, but they are not doing the same for the Kurdish people? Palestinians number about 10 million, while Kurds are about 60 million. Have the Arabs ever fought for Kurdish independence and to establish their own country? Never, in the history of Islam, have the Arab Muslims stood by the Kurdish people to declare their own country. They consider Kurds as slaves to them and do not accept them as equals. Please prove to me that my statement is wrong. You claim that Kurds are the original people of the so-called Kurdistan. Prove me wrong. Dig in your backyard or in any inch of that land, and you will never find any artifact of Kurdish history. Respectfully, I have many dear Kurdish friends who are very peaceful, but that does not mean I will be silenced and not defend my people because of your imaginary or fantasy story. Go and visit the Baghdad Museum, or museums in England, France, and Germany; all of them have nothing but Assyrian artifacts. You will not see any Kurdish artifacts in any of these museums. The land of Ashur is ours, and it will always be the Assyrian land. The Kurdistan of today, for which credit goes to the Mossad of Israel, is under the control of laws and order, with all the improvements seen in today's Kurdistan. Without their administration and improvements, Kurds would be killing each other as they have done for the last thousands of years, one tribe killing the other over power. Be thankful to the Israeli government for keeping you united. I would rather live under Israeli laws than any Sharia laws. The ones keeping Kurdistan's name and declaring it a country, and the Kurdish people as the indigenous people of our land, are the Israeli government. They are the ones keeping you united. Surely, Israel is not doing this out of love for the Kurdish people; they have better plans for their future, divide and conquer. One day, they will declare Kurdistan as Israel. Look and read a book called "The Assyrian Prophecy. from the prophecy of Isaiah or Ishaya" written by Doctor Ron Susak and what has been mentioned in the Jewish prophecy book. It indicates a road of peace will open from Israel to Egypt into Assyria, at which, all will worship one God. We all know that Egypt exists, and Israel was reborn in 1948. The third country is Assyria, and for now, it does not exist as a country. Sooner or later, the Israeli government will declare Kurdistan as the land of Assyria, but only by name, to fulfill the Isaiah prophecy. That does not mean that the Assyrian people will rule that land; it will be called Assyria by name only to fulfill their agenda. The land you call Kurdistan is Assyrian land, and the Israeli government must maintain it under your name until one day after we are gone, or within the next century, they will change it to Assyria-not out of love for the Assyrian people, but only to fulfill the prophecy of Isaiah. My respect to my Kurdish friends. This man's statement about my Assyrian people did not give me another choice because he insulted me and my father's heritage and all the Assyrians around the world. My utmost respect to all of my Kurdish friends. I am writing this not as an insult to the Kurdish people, but to correct or educate this man on the true history of our people. God bless our land with peace and prosperity for all the inhabitants of Assyria. Thank you.

Nearly six million Assyrian Christians dot the world. Mesopotamia is the homeland of the Assyrians. The famous royal cities of the Assyrians, Ashur, Nimrud (Kalhu), Arbela, Dur-Sharrukin and Nineveh were built in it. The Assyrians ruled for approximately 1,300 years - from about 2000 B.C. to 612/10 BC - in northern Mesopotamia an ancient landscape between the Euphrates and Tigris rivers. A clear reference to the existence of the Assyrians, on the other hand, can already be found in the Old Testament (1st Book of Moses 2:14). There it says: * “… the name of the third river is the Tigris, which flows east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates..." We are Assyrians. Northern Mesopotamia is part of the Assyrian heartland. Assyria includes Tur Abdin, Botan, Hakkari, Urmia and Nineveh. The people speak surit (Ashur-Sur-Surit) and call themselves Suraye (Ashuraye) in their language. One day we will return to our country. Assyria belongs to the Assyrians. Isaiah 19:23-25

Thank you for a very interesting presentation! Please accept a fraternal correction. The Maronite Church is not a Uniate Church. Maronite Catholics historically maintained unbroken communion with the See of Rome. The term "Uniate" is considered offensive by those Christian Churches, or portions thereof, which reestablished communion with Rome. Thanks for your openness!
