Spicy Homemade Po Boy Recipe | In The Kitchen With Vinny
Today in the kitchen we are cooking up the Classic Po' Boy!
Join Vince shares his secret for creating a zesty sauce to the well seasoned & fried shrimp and oysters that make up these mouthwatering sandwiches. Whether you're a seasoned cook or a beginner in the kitchen, you can create flavorful food with simple ingredients!
Ingredients:
2 lbs of Shrimp
8 oz of canned or 6-8 fresh oysters
Zesty Po' Boy Sauce
1 tsp Cajun or Creole Seasoning
1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
1 tsp Dijon Mustard
1 tsp Pickled Relish
1/2 Lemon (squeezed)
Green Onions (chopped thinly)
Hot Sauce (season to taste)
Give the sauce a good stir to incorporate all the ingredients (listed above)
Season Shrimp with a 1/2 cup of Creole seasoning about 1/4 cup of Smoked Paprika; massage that in and make sure that they are all coated. Give that about 15 min or more to let the seasonings soak up into your shrimp/oysters and then pour your liquid marinade.
Buttermilk Marinade
2 Cups Buttermilk
1/2 cup of Cajun or Creole Seasoning
1 tsp of Smoked Paprika
Hot Sauce (a few dashes of your favorite to keep it spicy)
Pour a little liquid buttermilk marinade into your shrimp and oyster bowls. Let it soak for at least 15 minutes.
Cornmeal Mix
3 cups Cornmeal
1 tsp Cajun or Creole Seasoning
1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
Keep your flavors the same throughout; then give your ingredients a whisk to get it all mixed up and your ready to dredge and fry.
Completed coat your marinated shrimp/oysters in the cornmeal mix. You can do them one at time or do a handful. Be sure to shake off all the excess to ensure they are evenly coated.

What type of smoke box/tray do you use to cook it in?
First..thanks for watching, and that's a large roasting pan.
You can use wood chips wrapped in aluminum foil as your smoke box. Poke a few holes in the foil and as the wood burns it'll release smoke into your grill
Thanks for reply!
😳 That looks amazing! 😋🤤
