World's Busiest Railway 2015 1of4 BBC
Dan Snow, Anita Rani, and Robert Llewellyn examine the role the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai plays in long-distance travel across India. The country's rail passengers travel three million kms every day - that's the distance to the moon and back, four times.
Anita joins passengers on a long-distance sleeper across India, to discover who's travelling, what they pay for their tickets and what conditions are like on board.
The station team have just six hours to service trains after every journey. With trains measuring more than half-a-kilometre in length this is a gargantuan task. Robert joins the team to watch this turnaround in action.
Dan gets his hands dirty with the behind-the-scenes support teams who process more than 25,000 dirty sheets a day and ensure that everyone on board is fed and watered.
And we go on board one of India's poshest tourist trains, where you can travel like a maharaja at a cost of £600 per night.

WOW! What are these presenters taking? Totally OTT style. So much so that I gave up watching after a few minutes which is a shame as the subject matter is of real interest to me. Sorry, but I just couldn't take it any longer 😒

Nice to see a Snow, a Sand and the Onion Knight taking a break from Game of Thrones and exploring a new city further east!
London newyork Seoul is nothing compared to our aamchi Mumbai
Indian train has doors but that door is hide and new airconditner local has automatic doors
This reminded me of Cuba. Except that India has way more people, the rail tracks are in much better condition, and the trains actually work... Ok, so it's NOT like Cuba... Never mind...😅
I am a indian Please come in the eastern railway
Now I think we should go to the UK and interview the economic crisis over there. *”The IslAnd NatIoN Of EuRoPe Burdened By CoNstAnT PoLiTCAL CriSes As ThE sTrUggLe FoR GaS ConTinUes”* 😂.

Insaneyat ke standard is halat pay rota hai laya ken ahsa nahe Hana akal aur shawore ka pata chalta Hai
Welp, about time to give everyone on the Indian subcontinent a monthly allowance of condoms.
Grand Central Station alone, in a city less than half the size of Mumbai, has like 5 times the number of tracks than CST. I'm honestly surprised people don't die from regular crowd crushes.
Cause it's old and over burdened. Thankfully metros and new tracks can un burden this a little. Also Mumbai has higher population unlike NYC, if NYC grew like Mumbai population even you guys won't be able to handle it.
Hilarious... how much Britain love there railways... like oh we did some massacres but you got the rail you see.. don't let this documentaries fool you... these are made by BBC to make ordinary britons feel good about there jolly good empire. You know the sun never set on the... blah blah bull shit.
The overall documentary shows the true very high diurnal temperature of divine. Very devoted and dedicated to their works and jobs, super-humanly excellent . For Railway, Brilliant coordination between Human and Technology.
Why doesn’t the person just bring the lunch from home when they leave in the morning?
Thanks .Fantastic coverage,
Where are the other 3 videos?
24:42 makes me very happy as an Indian. That's a hardware / electronics data center. Not servers or racks, but electro-mechanical switches and mechanical relays. Steampunk genius. Of course, automation would make things easier, but then in India, nothing goes exactly to plan, so automation would fail to handle most of the unexpected edge cases. I wonder what the maintenance schedules and failure rates for those wires and relays are. Semiconductors work better because they last much longer than mechanical switches or relays at rated conditions (temperature, pressure, electrical load, environment). If they have electrified everything, maybe an electronic signalling network with transmitters on the trains themselves, that provide real time data is possible, rather than relying on track-based switches which I presume need regular testing and inspection. The good thing about this network is that it can withstand an EMP attack, which would probably fry a fully electronic sensor and wireless signalling network. But that's not an eventuality anybody wants tested!
Typical British behavour, going to foreign lands and telling the natives how to do things their way "This is unsafe!"
I love India🇮🇳
Korea line 2like that
Hey, I want to remind you that God loves us. His miracles are real. Just trust Him and always pray. If you are experiencing depression, anxiety, lack of finances, or anything that makes you doubt yourself, just remember that we have God and he will provide for our needs. Nothing is impossible for God; just keep your faith in Him and don't stop praying😍😍
Can you imagine this with COVID or TB?
Now come in June 2022 best experience now
watching this video sitting on a Churgate to Andheri fast local ! At this time there hardly any rush. Tomorrow morning i'm going to face the same thing shown at the start of this video ! I was laughing so hard when they were trying to get inside the train their first time !

Travis Scott concert on wheels
Imagine the smell
Don't worry, we are used to this. The Kurla people are really used to this.
I was feeling depress but Seeing this video makes me realize there is no reason to feel depress. Some people literally have nothing and I am here overthinking .
06:21 - what time did this guys reach CST? Empty station and empty trains?
Tbh anytime apart from 8-11 and 6-9, its not very crowded at CST.
India is a bad place. But good pussy though. You can get laid for $2 bucks. That's a lot of money to those girls. If you toss a $5 bill she's yours all day. I did a girl 4 times for less than a price of a BigMac.
