Looks like Marine was playing on a slightly older version of 0.7. Pekora streamed the game two hours after her, and her version of the game spelled Marine's name correctly.
Or the devs updated it immediately, which i wouldnt put past them

Yeah, 生 is one of those kanji with an ungodly number of readings. Shou and sei are both valid readings.

Not exactly The pronunciation of 宝生 in Chinese is Bao Sheng While the pronunciation of 宝鐘 in Chinese is Bao Zhong
A lot of them probably live in SEA and Taiwan, so yeah, chances are there're some that can speak and write in Mandarin and Cantonese. Probably even Kay Yu, given that 'Yu' is a Cantonese(?) family name.

宝生 was most widely known through the actress Houshou Mai, but that was quite a while ago.
