I live in Glenfinnan and worked on the cruise boat MV Sileas ( pronounced she lass) part time for 14 years, it is a beautiful loch indeed. A local historian reckons there is approximately 60 thousand souls buried on The Green Isle ( burial island) over the 1300 plus years that folk have been buried there. There is still the odd burial for those with strong local ties to the island. A lot of folk pronounce Acharacle wrong, the C is silent so its " A- ha - rakle " You had good weather as well.
@@baldymagoo that’s really interesting thanks and so sorry to mispronounce, I did think I’d probably made a hash of it ! I think it’s probably one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to . You’re so lucky to have it on your doorstep .
It was amazing- your trip sounds cool too - just checking out your folding kayak 👍😎
Nice one. Did the same trip in reverse in Aug 2023 with folding Kayak (Trak SOF) camped same lovely places. Public transport to Achacle and from Glenfinnan home. Enjoy your next adventure. All the best, fm NE Scotland
Thanks Phil - the vids are just a bit of fun and memories for me when I’m in the nursing home 🤭
Nice video Graham, just subscribed from a fellow TH-camr 😉👍
Thank you for sharing, that was beautiful.
Glad you enjoyed it!
It was end of July .. I’ll check the date later 👍
What beautiful places! On what date of the year do the sky lanterns fly?
It was midnight on the 27th July for us - but you’ll need to check 👍
Great trip Mick - me and you out next 🏍️💨
Looks good hope you had a good time 😊😊
Couldn’t agree more 👍
A piece of heaven on earth. My heart and soul Home in the heart
Hi there , all of Iceland is amazing , you won’t be disappointed. My advice is go camping and so you can enjoy some of the features early morning and late evening when there are few if any tourists. If you head inland on the F roads like we did you will need a modified car in order do all the river crossings.. they do have some crazy busses that make some river crossings too .. the interior is pretty much deserted even in high season. ( that will not last for ever ) .. Have fun 🤩 Graham
hello , I'm going to go next year to iceland and do you have some recomedations ? also offroad tracks ? i want to see wild iceland. not overcrowded with tourists. thanks <3
Looks an amazing trip guys!
Great video 😊☀️
Thank you!! 😊
It’s amazing .. Thanks for the kind words

No problem Derrick, feel like I’ve only scratched the surface of a magnificent county .
Looks like you had a great ride in Ireland, beautiful pictures and scenery thanks for sharing.
Thanks Steve - it’s an amazing place with so much still to see 👍
Excellent video...nice filming and editing too! Ireland 🇮🇪 is a great place to ride and explore on a bike! Cheers Steve
Great time Mick 👍😎
Fantastic hope you had a good time 🍺😁
Excellent. Can you tell me what mods you had done to make it f-road capable? Was it expensive? I'm thinking of an 80 series Landcruiser.
Tbh a standard Land Cruiser would do it just fine but you would need a snorkel, some of the river crossings are quite deep esp round porsmork- extra fuel on board ( rear Jerry can holder ) was good for peace of mind. We had a 3 inch lift which helped with river crossings. Oh and some good tyres to get you out the rivers too . Camping in Iceland is not that expensive tbh .. the ferry was of course but amazing .
❤❤❤❤
Hi Graham, heading up to Shiel in 2 weeks time. Where did you find to park?
Hi there - we found space at Callop bridge , about 1.5 miles back towards fort William - go down the track, over the bridge and there’s a small car park - no charge , Motorhomes use it .. relatively safe , well we left for 5 days and no hassle 👍
Are there designated camp spots along the F-Routes? I'm planning a trip but I have no idea how to do F-Routes without wild camping in between. And as I heard, that's strictly forbidden in Iceland.
Hi there, yes there lots of designated camp sites in the interior on the f roads - we found them by looking on maps and google etc .. most are pretty quiet , some have hot pools to chill in , all are very basic of course. Rangers patrol some stretches of road and they don’t like you pulling off the tracks . But .. that said , the area is huge and I’m sure you could easily wild camp should you wish.
Are river crossing situations common? I'm going to do the full circle and I'm in doubt.
Hi there - no , river crossings are only in the interior on the F roads - the circle route round the island is paved and fine 👍
Looks great hope you have a good day 🥶😁
It was awesome Mick 😎👍
Looks like a very nice place to have a walk so peaceful and relaxing 😌
Cheers Mick 👍
Looks fantastic 😊
Cool vids, looking forward to seeing more uploads! You should use SMZeus . c o m to help rank your videos!
Poor chap but this is what we have been saying, the figure could go up if the proposed Primary School, allotments, Community Centre etc were accepted and not built. Just leave it as it is. Keep our Green area Green.
