    What size was that socket for the spark plugs?

    That was enough to make me decide to have a professional do it. First it would just kill my back and I sure I don't have all the little tools that make the job simpler..

    You need to wipe your grease fittings , jerk fittings , before you greases , otherwise you are putting the dirt on the fitting in to the joints .

    You definitely don’t need a cheater bar to tighten the spark plugs

    • @BornToWrenchShop
      @BornToWrenchShop 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Right, but I find it easier to replicate the same torque with each plug, when I have that extra leverage that gives me more control, even though I’m not taking full advantage of the bar.

    Change oil and filter more often

  • @kelsycunningham8452
    @kelsycunningham8452 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    A bigger can with more filter media will hold more crud between changes. The old Dodge v-8's had 2 options, the cars had smaller, the trucks larger filters. If there was room to install it, the larger filter was the best choice. That said, the oil additives are worn out before the filter was full anyway.

  • @78Hatrick
    @78Hatrick 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    That don't matter. Unless you're doin a secondary micron clean up system, it don't matter. That filter only keeps a certain micron out of your bearings

  • @DirtGod101
    @DirtGod101 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Bigger engine probably pushes oil faster, smaller engine probably can't push it as easy and the bigger filter is to make sure there's an even chance at filtration

  • @stevenelder568
    @stevenelder568 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Size of the filter dosent mean anything. In fact a smaller filter will start to fill with dirt faster and if you know anything about filters theyre actually less efficient when brand new and clean because they have larger pores and allow more dirt through. Every filter is matched to the engine by the manufacturer. Do your maintenance to the standards in your manual (or maybe more often depending on your situation) and youll be good

      @@BornToWrenchShop Manual Maintenance chapter lists detailed service intervals starting with the 50-hour engine break-in service. Per the owners-manual this service includes (but is not limited to) changing engine oil, oil filter, and HST Transmission oil filter (but interestingly enough does not indicate transmission fluid and rear axle gear case RH & LH fluid change until 400 hours. Owner's-Manual over-site/error?). Engine oil/filter subsequently gets changed at every 200 engine hours indicated (i.e. 50, 150 additional hours later = 200 total elapsed, then every 200hrs after that). Change gear box oil change every 150 hours. Primary and secondary Air filters are changed "every 1000-hours or yearly". My mower gets used about 50 hours /year so not sure I need to change yearly but I do open and compressor blow Primary filter clean often. (Hydraulic filter not indicated changed until 400 hours and manual does not indicate anything about the hydraulic fluid being changed- another error?). There are multiple errors and over sites in the Owners-manual so beware. For example, the manual covers greasing but is not clear about the shaft zerk fitting under the front of the radiator (must remove a plate to get to it) as he shows in this video. There is a picture only (pg 73), no description, and the orientation is ass backwards. I did not realize there was a fourth zerk fitting there on the shaft system. And above comment it correct that you should wipe off each grease fitting before pumping grease into it to prevent dirt and contaminant entry. Manual (pg 72-73) and video indicate greasing but manual does not show greasing the spindle shafts at all (nor how often nor how much grease to apply), nor the belt tension pully and associated pivot, nor the anti-scalping pivot bosses (shafts) and associated rollers (wheels). The failure to indicte how much grease to apply to the spindle bearings is a potentially serious problem since you are presumably running off of the original greas applied during bearing construction until you place sufficient greas to fill and pressurize the spindle housing such that the greas can then penetrate past the rubber seals into the sealed bearings (yes that happens). Another video says that may not happen until 70 pump strokes or more. There is no visible grease overflow hole I have found yet, to provide feedback on that procedure. Owners-Manual does not discuss this. My service guy said to grease the zerk fittings every 10 hours. I have 30 hours on machine and have not taken blades off yet but will investigate spindles further when I do shortly. In process of setting up a precision blade balance check and sharpening station. There is an electronic service manual (ZD1211 being one of several models so is big) my dealer service manager gave me on a flash drive. I printed off a daily "Check and Maintenance one page outline from it you should obtain same. Greasing list is comprehensive and daily, probably assuming an 8-hour daily usage. Pick your grease carefully. My Dealer stocks a red grease in red tube which when I researched greases and their specifications in deep detail (really drilled down on it) was the best grease I could find. Better than the 3% moly grease I used previously. I also do not understand why (pg 71) they show using 10W-30 gasoline engine oil (a detergent oil) in the gear box instead of SAE 90 gear oil. I discussed with my Dealer Service manager and my salesman and they agreed nondetergent SAE90 gear oil more appropriate for a sealed bearing case without a filtered oil flow system. Detergent oil keeps particles in suspension so that they can be filtered out in the filter. Otherwise you are creating an abrasive slurry. Is why we use nondetergent oils in lathe bearings to flush out contaminants, not suspend them in a slurry to wear out the bearings. Some things, such as hoses, are time based for inspection yearly and replacement every 4 years. You really have to read the maintenance chapter and view the two-page service interval schedule and then read the above and ask questions. Hope this helps. I do not know everything and am still learning about the ZD1211 and how to properly care for it. At 50 hours per year, I will be lucky if I get 1500 hours on it (for my 4 acres) before I die but that is why I got a Kubota ZD1211. -Doc

    I have the exact machine and this is the best video I have found. Two questions. 1) how do you keep the blades from turning when loosening and tightening? 2) fuel gauge shows "full" because RH tank is full but I ran out of fuel because the engine is apparently drawing only from the LH tank. Help please.

    • @GarrisonFleischauer
      @GarrisonFleischauer 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, i had same problem Check all these things Red fuel valve below tank is turned to on, inline with fuel flow, sometimes it can get bumped by a stick or sumthing Just that sides fuel filter could be clogged Or there is a check valve right after that filter that needs to be working properly.
