I'm absolutely in awe of your sauce setup mate! Very very nice. Do you have any setup videos ?
Hey thanks! I do not have a setup video, but my basic thing is 1) install sauce, 2) install zenmaster mod (available on sauce discord, it is updated periodically with new routes and segments and stuff so you need to get access to the sauce discord so you can get the updated zenmaster mod 3) set up the widgets as you like - the zenmaster mod is what gives me the profile of the course, I find that really really important personally, as well as the segment thing on the left of the profile so I know how much of a segment is left or how far to the next segment 4) all the other widgets are stock sauce, just carefully tuned to answer the questions I have when I'm racing (which are normally a) "how hard am I going?", b) what position am I in and how far to the finish?, c) what is the group situation like on the road with gaps? and d) how hard are the people near me going? (so I can tune effort if I'm in a breakaway or similar) Hope that helps ?
@MikeHardyiest thanks very much I'll check it out.
Bravo Mike
Great Job Mike some strong power numbers .
Thanks! Yeah power was good just didn't quite have the mental fortitude to suffer and close the last couple gaps required. Different goals this week and tons of vo2 isn't one of them...
14:35 this is how I feel going through intermediate sprint banners too 😅
I had been waiting up for them for a while at that point so they could help in the headwind and just had no idea they'd sprint for real. Bonehead move on my part!
screen very detailed, quality is also very good
Thanks for joining in the experiment! Was a good little group. Seemed the bots were happy with the composition of things once that front 10 was established.
Yeah that was fun, great finish on your part and I was happy to let Andreas-the-bot chug along in front for sure
Put in some serious efforts just before that ‘nope’ moment. Way too much surging for my taste in this one. Young out front making people chase
What an absolute joy to rewatch that positively pedestrian pace on the Volcano climb! Herd mentality at its finest! 🥳🥳
Yeah until someone*cough*SISU*cough* went and sprinted the ramp haha. But yeah felt... untrustworthy but I enjoyed it
Ouch, saw you ended up in no man’s land for most of the ride. Takes a lot more mental strength to get through that as well as you did. More power to ya. See you out there
I was a triathlete for a while, I can TT so the task wasn't heard, the internal irritation at how I missed the split though! That stung. On the plus side when I race in real life I carry with me all the knowledge from like 7 races a week, so, it's okay in the end too. Always another chance
One guy was stopped on the line! Well done! 🎉
"5 more pedal strokes" is one of my mantras. Got me the podium on this one! And a beautific negative W' full body wtf feeling haha
Something was super janky with the stream, no idea what's going on there. First time that's ever happened, so never had to look in to that before...was buttery smooth on the laptop screen while I was riding the race at least, so there was no hint it would come out like that
Too bad about the laggy recording. Still gives a good sense of the suffering involved. Too many strong riders in G2. I was cursing at them for not just having stayed with the front group over Box Hill, so the rest of us wouldn't have to contend with their constant pushing the pace all the way to the finish :D
@@MrPedel So the recording lag happened exactly once, on this video, and has not recurred. I'm not going to look into it further unless it recurs a lot, so this just goes in the "wtf computer?" bucket
Strong ride Mike. Just outside the podium. And what a catch early on with that HRM trouble! 💪 Sorry about all the attacking, but I was pushing it today to tire you guys out and get Meaney in a good position to make up some ground on Telfer. Just sucks that my bike might have broken down :/ Anyway, great tour. Hope I am back to joust some more in Pink
Thanks. And no apology needed - 2 SISU vs 4-5 others? If you're not doing the ol' 1-2 attack attack attack I'm worried you're not feeling good! You were playing it great. Bummed to hear you had a technical too, and at a more impactful time
minute 57:30 you get to see me basically just give up - I mean, I keep giving it what I have but it's where I realize that "what I have" is "just surviving through the finish" diagnosed after the race as dehydration. Mental error, still happens from time to time, I'm not a robot...
Hey, Mike. These are tough. Especially if you're a sprinter. You might not realise it, but its reassuring to see it happens at all levels. I did the same on Leith Hill. I just stopped pedalling a few hundred meters before the top.
@@stevej_on_your_MTB glad it provides some comfort, I thought the same from your Chasing Disaster video, got to take the bad and the good and just put it out there. At least we're trying! 😅. Cheers man
That was a tough ride. I think we made all the same sounds at all the same points in the ride (and after).
That back stretch is so painful!
Tough day at the office, Mike. Great race to finish off the classics
That was about the most that I've ever suffered in a race - I've decided there is a new anaerobic capacity measurement I will call "Laveracks", denoted by L'. I'm actually a bit proud I appear to have 3.5 Laveracks but unfortunately the race seemed to need 5 to be in the finale 😂
@@MikeHardyiest Yeah, he made it hard. Even saw on his stream he had a small BT incident which meant he had to sprint back on to the group at one point during the last lap. And still he had enough to make the finish tough. I’ll take my 3.6 Laverack today and consider that a win 😅 See you at Romandie
Well done mate. I raced the later slot and it was one tough course!
Nice racing with you earlier Mike
Great race! I think lots of people would be interested in a video tutorial about how you set up Sauce though if you were bored enough to put one together. :-) I fumbled through a lot to mimic what you have here. Great job on that, btw... I'm really curious though how you removed the other rider icons from the profile and added the segment names.
Thanks! That's a good idea and is similar to what my wife mentioned (what is all that stuff? What's it mean?) I'll see if I can't do a video explaining the setup itself then the data meaning. Maybe helpful as a direct answer, the "zen mod" available on the sauce discord has the super cool route and segments widgets you see, showing distance to segment, and segment/ route profiles. Great mod
Wow, you just rode right through that guy.
Few things more Zwifty than just riding straight through people yeah haha
Wow, looks like you upped your streaming game! Can you tow me around the 2:30 pm EST race please?
thanks! Yeah had a list of "things that made my stream suck" starting from the first try and I've been fixing one or two per stream. I think I just about now. Final step is a wider FOV cam instead of the laptop-panel-cam, it'll show up on Tuesday. Not sure I've got enough legs to stick with the group much less tow anyone 😆- and I was thinking of doing the 1p race. But maybe it'll be more fun with a teammie and I'll do 230p to see :-) Cheers man
How do install?
lmao how tall was he?
