EP.67 Rest, Reflection, and Grace with Angie and Dora Obwaka – Laying the Groundwork Series
In this episode, I sit down with the inspiring Angie and Dora Obwaka to discuss how rest, reflection, and God’s grace are essential for laying a strong foundation in life. As we navigate the new year, we explore the importance of aligning with God’s rhythm of grace and how intentional rest impacts our spiritual, personal, and professional growth.
Dora shares her vision for Jesus Girl Closet and how it was birthed from moments of reflection and prayer. Angie brings her unique insights on capacity building and fasting, emphasizing the need for an intimate connection with God over the optics of religious rituals.
We also dive into family traditions, what Christmas taught them about slowing down, and how these lessons can help us approach the year with renewed purpose and focus. This episode is full of practical wisdom and heartfelt encouragement for anyone seeking to build a life centred on faith and grace.

1:00:18 Moooozzzz 😂😂😂😂😅
Love this conversation so real
Great podcast
So can we stop coming to church because it has become a ritual, ticking a weekly box? Can we stop praying and giving because it has become a ritual? Can we stop reading the word because it has become a ritual? I think what we need to address is not the fasting but the motives of the heart during the fast. Never discourage fasting. We are human and as humans/fallen beings the motives of our hearts will be something we will continue to work on each and every day. Let people fast. Encourage people to fast. January is a great time to fast as we dedicate ourselves to God.
That’s literally what he said. He didn’t discourage it. He challenged our why.
@@Winfred-k1t Go to minute 17:20. He used the word discouraging..... I just don't agree with that.... Let people fast even as baby Christians making all the mistakes as they are being taught about the right posture of the heart. Just like you would not discourage going to church or giving even when the motives are wrong... Pastoring is shepherding broken lost people who constantly get it wrong. You cannot wait till people are perfect for them to fast. Perfection in our Christian journey is actually unattainable.
That role play was the ultimate eye opener. To imagine that I have been talking instead of listening.. Ghai! 😲😲
Aki. That challenge was real
Great conversation. Thank you
I think the first temptation was "if you are the son of God"( Sonship) Getting edified hapa hivi we should have Gowi more in this new year and season.
Hahaha the way he is explaining about Ivy. We went to the same school with her she was a year ahead of me. She was so humble and remember she used to sing alot
I looove this kalittle girl ❤ Wherever she goes be sure to have over an hour of good time and you always feel to listen more to her 😄
Not kong kong 😂😂God ni msoo for sure❤❤
What a testimony full of honesty God will never put is to shame. Thanks for loving the body of Christ.
For anyone who has not heard the good news.God has been loving us since way back when, that when we were yet sinners He sent His son to die for us,for the sake of our sins. When we get saved,we accept the sacrifice Jesus became for our sins and His finished work.We are therefore qualified for heaven through the finished work of Christ. What they are highlighting is how afterwards,we then walk in the way Jesus modelled. He was tempted in all ways and yet remained sinless. After salvation,He gives us a helper, the Holy Spirit,to guide, minister and teach us the right way to life. All this is found in the authoritative word of God,The Holy Bible.Don't depend on yourself, when righteousness has been freely given 🙏🙏
I've learnt and enjoyed this episode thoroughly! Andy and Moz balance intelligence, faith and humor so gracefully. The verse at min 1:19:16 its Psalms 15:4 .A psalm of David not Asaph. Be blessed guys 🙏
So happy to see RTP here. Big fans of them😊

Love love this❤
First one here
I find it so interesting how my journey to christ is really similar with Mitchelle's this is amazing. When i see her i see me and i see the glory of God
This🔥
Much love to Murugi. Her testimony is encouraging and we thank God for saving her. She makes very valid points together with the host but can be misconstrued or lead christians in a dangerous path if not properly contextualized. The language of homophobia is often used as a weapon to silence christians speaking out again the sin of homosexuality. The Bible tells us to be harmless but wise as the serpent. Paul also says in 2 Corinthians 2:11 " we're not unaware of the devil's schemes". We must never forget that the LGBT agenda is patently anti-christ and their intention is to gain societal acceptance. Even as we spread a message of love, we must be aware of what we're up against.
Wow wow wow......❤
😂😂😂😂
Ey! This is exciting! 🙌🏾
