While I was grooming the trail I was passed by a pickup truck. It made a pretty good mess of the trail, so I re-did the trail. My hope is that this will express the disappointment in this behavior and disrespect it shows to all those who maintain/and ride these snowmobile trails. Please be respectful to others. Thanks for watching and God Bless. Be safe and careful out there. More grooming vide...

Enjoy your video. How old is Malcolm he is doing a great job. Don’t see much wildlife on trails? Great work you do.
Thank you for your comment. I'm 77 years old.
Thanks for all the work that you guys do keeping the trails rideable. Been on those trails many times and your efforts are greatly appreciated!!
Michigan is the state between Lake Michigan and Lake Huron in the United states. For the purpose of my channel I consider Northern Michigan to be the top third of the lower Peninsula and the complete Upper Peninsula of the state of michigan. These are the places where most of my Adventures take place.
What is northern michigan
Although I haven't snowmobiled in about 15 years, I and the rest our snowmobile gang, surely appreciated the groomer operators!!!
thank you sir i live in tenn. but am from maine and i so miss the snow and god bless and merry christmas
Great video. Do you also groom the trails in the summer for dirt bikes and 4-wheelers etc.....
Hope you heal up soon. Much respect for not taking pain medicine while operating equipment. I enjoyed your video. Would love to see a drag view video clip of the groomer’s work too. All the best from your fellow northern neighbor and snowmobiler here from the state of Maine.
I have some in the next series. I was able to put the camera out side with as magnetic mount.
Was this all in the same trip? To go from sunny to snowing like that is nice
Yes. Out and back. Two more videos in this series then I I'll start a trip North of Grayling on trail 7 and back on trail 79.
Just a thought. Maybe add a rearview camera, so you can see the final product / artwork.
I have some in the video series but more to come.
@malcolmsadventuresinnorthe5958 Sounds good thanks.
Dam it thought this might be up in the county (Maine )
Never been there but would love to visit one day.
@malcolmsadventuresinnorthe5958 it's absolutely haven. Truly beautiful. The way life should be. Braaaaaap
How many miles is the trail?
Between 16 and 20 miles. We groom a total of 69 miles.
@malcolmsadventuresinnorthe5958 How long does it take? How much wildlife do you see?👍
It depends on conditions, but out and back 6 to 8 hours and 36 gallons of diesel fuel.@@SeanFry-z1g
@@SeanFry-z1gI often see deer, but I'm pretty focused on the trail so I'm sure I miss a lot too.
@malcolmsadventuresinnorthe5958 Safety first,deer second.👍
Looked like you had a beautiful day for the task.
If the trail is on public land you have no right to complain. The snow machine clubs around here think they own everything the second the ground is white . Other people maintain the trail the other 8 months a year, never hear them complaining. Im a snowmobiler and I buy my trail pass every year, I just dont feel entitled as others I guess.
I Enjoyed the view From My Warm Seat! Your Work is Much Appreciated!
Glad you enjoyed it.
That’s sad. Too bad law enforcement isn’t doing anything about it. Is it even illegal?
Love the commentary. Cool going under one of the longest highways in the US!
Thanks.
Thanks for sharing. Something meditating about watching these.
Thank you for watching.
Snowmobilers today are a bunch of reckless self centered rich kids who will let the sport die due to their lack of participation in helping keep the infrastructure of the sport alive. Global warming will help kill it completely!
Appreciate what you do for the riders!
Thanks for watching.
Contacting your local snowmobile club, joining and learning what's going on is the best way to get on track for helping with the trails and grooming.
Love to retire from my street and sewer job in a few years and move out to an area that I can help do snowmobile trails and enjoy the nature. Any info on how I could help or join a place and help out
Google local snowmobile in your area, attend a couple meetings at a couple clubs, find one that you like, join and have at it. They’ll be glad to have you.
Contact the local snowmobile club. We always need volunteers.
So lucky that you take us along thank you
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoy it.
Don’t change a thing. I did a ton of sledding in that area and it brings back memories. We used to stay at the western trails. That’s long gone now.
I appreciate your comment.
You find these yahoos every year in Manistee, Crawford and Kalkaska counties SXS's and quads as well.
Yes Mac, get it
Wow! I have seen tire tracks on a trail, never met a car while grooming.
Unfortunately that's not the first time , but I had my camera running this time.
What trail were you grooming. Looks awesome thank you
Trail #47 goes between Grayling and Lovells.
are you trail grooming this year? i thought about you as the snow hit your area
Yes. Groomed trail 47 yesterday.
@malcolmsadventuresinnorthe5958 I hope I'm not too personable asking this but do you take any riders with you such as grandchildren? I know I would think that's cool
Beautiful color.
Yes Mac, take D 2 out and get it
Happy birthday Ken.
I been doing the same thing in Missaukee county.
That's great. We are working hard to get the trails ready as I am sure you are too. Thanks for the comment. It's about time we had some good snow this year.
Hey Ken, how are you? I hope you are doing well. Looking forward to seeing you one of these days, cuz. God bless you.
Thanks for the comment. I kept falling through the pallets so I thought I would try something new. Flooring I used is stuff I just sawed on my sawmill. Left plenty of gaps plus it will be shrinking more and plenty of air will come through the front and back.
Thanks for the video. I just use damaged pallets i pick up in the industrial area of town free Also might want to leave gaps between boards like 1 inch for underside air flow.
Great tip!
Tell us some about what equipment you are using.
Hey David, We have three tractors. Two John Deeres of 150 HP (belonging to Michigan DNR) and one New Holland (50% DNR). We use three drags (you might call these the groomers) One is a Doobie drag built in Gaylord Michigan. We own a brush cutter, post hole digger and lots of shovels, saws and mechanics tools.
Well I’m looking to retire and find a job to help groom and maintain snowmobile trails in the future any info on how I could contact someone about to try to help would much be appreciated thanks.
Yes Mac..get it 😊
I got it Ken.
Thank you Malcolm. Our trails are much nicer than the ones between Lovells and Lewiston. Wish they could be graded during ORV season
One of these days DNR will figure it out. Things need to be changed by legislation (or so I'm told)
I said whoa but you couldn't hear me. 😊
Thought I heard something. 😮😊
Yes Mac, get it boy😊
Doing wha t I can. 😊
Love the music. I'm watching this on my lunch break at work. It made my day. Thanks!
Glad you enjoy it! Thank you very much for your coment and thanks for watching .
Solid video. Beautiful river! 💙

Yes Mac, get it
Hey Kenny!
Mac, you're getting it 😊, yes, move it over there.
Hey Kenny. Thanks for watching and commenting on all my stuff. Can't tell you how much I appreciate that. Looking forward to seeing you soon. God bless you cuz.
Great video. I'd like to get a saw mill. It's nice to be able to cut any size wood you need. Also I'd like to know what wireless mic you are using . It sounds great 👍... thanks
Thank you for the kind words. I'm using the original dji wireless mic. I put the wireless receiver on my dji osmo 3 and carry the osmo 1 with me.
Yes, get it. Mac
Getin it.
Definitely God's country. 😊
Amen to that,
