B.A.B. arranged some beautiful sounding songs and this is one of my many favorites. A big thank you goes out to my close friend for letting me see this marvelous Frati converted by the B.A.B. organ company, and make plans for original B.A.B. parts to put some finishing touches on Chloe Ann!

Soon finished with restoring this DeKleist Style 18 that was converted by the B.A.B. organ company to play their 46-key rolls. This poor thing had a really tough life and even got used as a parts machine in its past. Spent the last two years restoring her to make her 100% perfect! THIS MACHINE IS STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS!!!

I love it, a cool and unexpected choice for a fairground organ
😮😮😮
👍... Wow, where can I get one like this?
I think you would have to hire someone to coordinate the making of a new one. This would be complicated and require a lot of time, money, and effort.
There are a lot of fair organ builders left in the Netherlands, for example. Jäger & Brommer in Germany is also a good adresse.
Thank you J. Lawrence Cook!
He was an incredibly talented man. I keep a framed portrait of him right by the organ in his honor
@ Wow! He was arranging music for these and QRS when it was becoming a lost art. I have an original copy of a B.A.B. roll #044 Style 66. The last issue from 1957. It’s from the carousel in Seaside Heights that is long gone. The roll should be in a museum or better home.
Fun song! Great arrangement! Very similar to the real one!
@ThatEverydayEnthusiast thank you for listening and enjoying! 🥳
Very nice!
Sounds great. Let's get together in 2025.
@@koasterkav2758 my schedule in 2025 is a but full, but we can get something to work out eventually.
Merry Christmas, Aiden!
@@khmam Merry Christmas Kevin!
How many songs can it play?
@@NathanRyan-v6s if its on the midi system or the rolls, it can almost play whatever you put into it.
Did it always have the motor on top?
@@NathanRyan-v6s it used to be hand cranked in the past.
merry christmas
@@andrewlardieri4110 Merry Christmas!
@@grundenrestorations2420 thx
Lovely! It is NOT everyday you hear an organ this rare this good.
I appreciate the kind comment about my Frati. Lots of care has gone into this beautiful machine
@It’s amazing the action can last so long.
Probably arranged by J. Lawrence Cook.
Definitely one of his arrangements!
Love this band organ. I want a band organ in my house too! It looks almost uncanny how close the arrangement of the instruments are to a Wurlitzer 125. Except without the the cymbal on top. Thanks for sharing!
@@lukesvintagetrains5495 The DeKleist style 18 and the Wurlitzer 125 are kind of similar. The DeKleist is an earlier model. It has a lot of beefy pipework compared to the 125 and it also doesn’t have trombones. This organ went through B.A.B. they revoiced it and gave this organ a flutey sound and have done an amazing job with it! There is a cymbal going up top soon! It’s gonna be finished with its restoration in the next couple of months. So keep an eye out for videos of it! I might do a little update video on it soon.
@ nice! I can’t wait to see it. I subscribed.
Why does this kind of issue happen?
This is beautiful. The instrumentation is very nice. The restoration is exceptional!
Yes it is! The playing action in this organ has not been touched since the mid 1990s. I am not sure who did that work but they did a phenomenal job. In 2022 I had Gavin McDonough recover the finger pneumatics as well as add the MIDI system it is playing off of in this video. The Trombones were re-leathered and all trumpet reeds cleaned and voiced at this time as well. All the pipes in the organ are in remarkably pristine condition for its age
Probably arranged by J. Lawrence Cook when he was working for the B.A.B. Organ Company in Brooklyn.
Have you ever considered, what makes a great love song, it could be because of this song and the way this Wurlitzer makes you feel, happy.
@@markwilliams2434 I’m sorry sir, but Wurlitzer is like the Ex that broke up with you over something they did. Then when you find a beautiful and amazing girl, like how B.A.B. is, the Ex suddenly comes back getting all petty because you found something more beautiful and something that treats you better.
Hello, Aiden! Where did this organ originate from?
Hello Kevin! The owner and I don’t really know. I can ask him again to see.
This organ sounds great!
What Wurlitzer 165 roll is this?
Yes or No
6838 most likely
Do you have any more videos of this organ?
I will in the next couple of months. Currently adding midi to it because some of my rolls are starting to deteriorate. I am also putting some finishing touches on it too.
@gurndenrestorations do you have any more videos of your cloie Ann band organ
Gonna upload an update video hopefully soon.
This would be a cool video if they had someone that can operate a camera. Keep the damn thing still on a tripod back far enough we can see the whole organ. Geeeeeeez
I didn't have a tripod at the time. This was also out on a jobsite, so I was not at the shop or have anything to rest my phone on. I also wanted to get a view of the backside of the organ. If I did get the phone back enough to view parts of the organ I am sure you would enjoy seeing a lovely video of a wall making sound due to this organ being housed in a semi trailer.
What a nice guy…
I love the Marines!
How is this machine doing?
Currently fixing some problems with the machine that showed up due to it getting very dried out.
Heard this beauty of an organ at my local fairground last month! It's even better in person
i love 6838
Today, you people…are no longer maggots! Today, you are Marines! You’re part of a brotherhood! From now on, until the day you die, wherever you are, every Marine is your brother. Most of you will go to Vietnam. Some of you will not come back. But always remember this: Marines die. That’s what we’re here for. But the Marine Corps lives forever. And that means…YOU live forever!
Sounds almost brand new as how it was supposed to sound, almost all the pipes I can hear.
Request: “Bozo's Song” on the Jimmy Drew Band Organ
Uses the pressure system rather than vacuum as in Artizan organs.
Yes it does, a very reliable system.
Looks and sounds FANTASTIC! Great job on the restoration. Still needs a bracket for the cymbal I see?
Thanks! I still have to get the carvings for the “crown” and cymbal bracket made. The original drum wings where stolen off of it with the “crown” and cymbal too.
@@grundenrestorations2420 Hopefully that will help to partially hide the motor assembly too. What's the story behind the name "Chloe Ann"
@@aaronb5060 this machine had roses on it so I wanted to keep that. I know that the greek meaning for Chloe is Blooming and fertility and when I think of that I think of roses so it matches up quite well!
I can't wait to see this in person!
How's the restoration coming along?
She’s soon finished! Gonna upload a video today.
It's a much more beautiful machine now. Love how you painted it. You should post your video from the news. It was nice meeting you at Joe's.
Thanks! It was nice meeting you at Joe’s too! I will have you all down soon to see her.
Loved this song in the movie Beetlejuice
For an unrestored instrument it plays surprisingly well. I love the colors!
Thanks for the comment. The instrument is soon finished with its restoration. Just need to add the cymbal, get the trumpets in order, and finally finish it off with some cosmetic work.
@@grundenrestorations2420 Wow! Spectacular!
A problem that can be fixed.
Found the problem!
Did you have to replace the sticks or just the valve. They look a bit worn out or like they are ready to break off. Where is this wonderful player at
I have to replace the pouches and valves. The pouches were leaking and didn’t have enough dish to them. The valves were warped and could seal correctly. This beautiful machine is named Chloe Ann and is Sadie Mae’s little sister organ. She is 17 minutes outside of Hershey Pa. I own this machine and she is soon finished with her restoration, so stay tuned and you will hear her sing again soon!
Hey there! I think we met at Hilferty's the other day!
Yes we did!
Is that clarinet polka?
Yes it is.
Playing in the key of Y as in why bother?, lol!, should be fine after a retune.
Whoever tuned it last tuned it to A-428. Once fully restored it will be tuned to A-430 due to how much room I have to move the tuning slides. This was also the first time it played after sitting for about 15-20 years.
Why dont you put in a bass drum & snare that actually works, & the organ needs some major tuning.
This was the day after I got the machine. Using this video and others as a before restoration. Also the drum wings are in horrible condition and it didn’t even come with the pneumatic action for that.
Maybe it’s not connected
If its not connected it wouldn’t even be working. Found out later the valve in the stack was very loose.
One of my favorite Rich Olsen arrangements thanks for posting.
