An unexpected encounter on the way to Alice Springs | Part 7 | Epic overland trip to Uluru | Vlog 27
We leave Barkley Homestead and made a few stops along the way before arriving at Karlu Karlu (Devil's Marbles) where we stay the night, taking in a number of the walks and catch a beautiful sunrise the following day before continuing our trek south towards Alice Springs, with an unexpected catch up with friends along the way.

      Yes unfortunately the QC seems to be lacking. It's a shame because it just kinda tarnishes the whole experience.

      @@SeekingNatureAus a friend bought one of their campers and even upgraded it to the full offroad spec. Very first trip all the cupboards were filled with dust. They had 12mm hoses going through a 32mm hole. No sealant at all. I am seriously looking to buy a crosstrack because of the weight and width for towing. They do look pretty flimsy, but more strength equals more weight.. I intend to check all the sealing etc if I get one. Overall, how do you rate it? Did you get your issues fixed under warranty? Thx

    • @SeekingNatureAus
      @SeekingNatureAus หลายเดือนก่อน

      Overall it's a great van we've been up the oodnadatta track and across SA, thru NSW and it's been fabulous. Yep definitely need to check for dust ingress and deal with that - usual silicone stuff. The leak at the front - known design fault really - has been the biggest issue we had, shower wall had a crack and small stuff like drawer runner but Newcastle dealer has been fab to deal with and sorted everything for us. Like I say just 5% more care on QC at the factory would make such a massive difference. The size weight etc makes them amazing

      We had the old Lifestyle van when we went to Coolah, we haven't actually had the Crosstrak up there. There are multiple culverts that are quite steep/deep, would definitely recommend high clearance. We have seen bigger vans up there staying at The Pines campground.

    Great walkthrough. I’m looking at buying one myself and I’m hoping you could tell me if the shower cubicle is a one piece fibreglass shell and base or is it a four piece set up? My last Jayco had constant water issues where it leaked through. As it wasn’t a one piece set up. Happy Easter and thank you

    • @SeekingNatureAus

      Hey, thank you ☺️. They are individual pieces not a full shell, and the base is separate. If you're on Facebook I'd recommend the owners group, you'll get heaps of good info and can ask questions and see what issues everyone has faced to get an idea if the trak is going to work for you or not.

      @SeekingNatureAus 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey maybe depending on what size (and budget) the jayco journey outbacks might be work looking at or something like the Forbes/ austrack / mdc I think some of them have internal bunks with combined shower/toilet .. once you've narrower down to a couple most will have an owners group on Facebook and they give you a good insight into any issues to look out for and what people are doing with them which really helped us out in making the final decision to go with the crosstrak . this one is big enough for the two of us, we didn't want to be towing a massive van when there is only us and it's a very competitive price particularly with the market the way it is at the moment. They are a great van and if you're not after the ensuite then either the 13ft or 16ft would be great probably depends on the extra space/length/weight difference between the 13 and 16.
