1. Longing ever for that bright and heav’nly mansion in the sky,
If only I could leave this world and be at rest by God’s side;
Nevermore to grieve and labor,
There I’ll see the loving Savior,
When I fly to my sweet home on high!
Up there, thru the narrow gate,
Past the shining river loved ones await.
I’ll tread thru life’s rugged way, look to God and pray,
“Lord, lead me today.”
2. When I’m down and weary in this sinful world and lost at sea,
I think of all the blessings that my God on high bestows me;
Then my heart becomes so grateful
For His loving hand so faithful;
All the weight on my soul He sets free!
