RARE! AI HD Uprez! FULL 1970 Kraft Music Hall, M. Landau, B. Bain, R. Goulet, C. Lawrence!
This video was uprezed to Full HD using AI software, (maintaining the original 4:3 format). It was made from an MPEG SD file (that itself had been made from the 2" Broadcast master -- even the black spaces to insert the commercials are still there.) It had been held in the archives of a European collector for years. Before now only a few clips were available on TH-cam. This is the entire show in High Def at the original 4:3 ratio, seen for the first time since 1970! Check out the musical tribute to the 1970s, and especially an incredible Martin Landau sketch as he attempts to audition for a part in a Broadway play that ends as an homage to Mission Impossible. Great musical numbers by Carol Lawrence, Robert Goulet and Barbara Bain as well, plus all 4 as an ensemble in several numbers. Every musical sketch is wonderful and a nostalgic look at 50 years ago..

"Bob & Carol & Martin & Barbara" Kraft Music Hall Show from January 1970. Wonderful performances in individual sketches by Martin Landau and Barbara Bain, just months after their departure from the Mission Impossible series. Bain sings a beautiful song, and Landau does a sketch that shows some of the range of his acting talent, not "discovered" in Hollywood feature films until the late 1980s by...
Beautiful print!
Very entertaining Kraft Music Hall Special with four tremendous talents. I enjoyed the segment where Martin Landau plays an actor auditioning for a play. He even has a Rollin Hand from Mission: Impossible moment.
This may have been from the last season of Kraft Music Hall.
Thank you for sharing. Dont make'em like that any more.
Great tv …. And at the time we didn’t see the writing on the wall.
I wonder if they were really friends and why they decided to do this. It was a fascinating show 👏 👌
Awesome show. Funny skits.😂
Showing how great 480p can look! And back in the "good 'ole days," prior to Kraft being owned by the criminal tobacco-drug pushers!
It was very brave of Martin Landau and Barbara Bain to sing on the same stage with Robert Goulet and Carol Lawrence. That's all I'm going to say about that.
Haha ha. It was all good. Cheers
Anymore please Kraft music hall
Originally telecast on October 21, 1970. Ed Herlihy speaks for Kraft.
Barbara Bain was gorgeous
What a shame such talented couples were both divorced years later. Martin Landau and Barbara Bain were not singers, but certainly Martin could carry a tune. Wonderful actor.
Didn’t know Martin Lsndau could sing. Wow! What a foursome,
Wow!
Estas maravillas no las dan en la TV Latina. Es una Lastima.
Que grato es ver y recordar esta ESCENA INMORTAL por siempre , desde Chile.
Wonderful! What a great variety show. Martin and Barbara are such wonderful actors. It’s so good to see them doing comedy too. So glad this was preserved. Thanks for sharing it! 👏🏻
Difficult to recognize Cinamon Carter without the cigarettes she smokes so seductively! I didn't know Rollin could sing.
The beauty, the body, and the sexy smoker's voice on Cinamon Carter!
Interesting that the lyrics about John (John F. Kennedy) are missing from Landau's rendition. Carol Lawrence was an acquaintance of JFK...photographed with him a couple of days before his assassination. I wonder if the JFK lyrics might've been too difficult for her to hear.
This was a very nice find! Landau and Bain did a great job not being noted for singing. Was very pleasantly surprised !
8:23 it was him 30 years in the futur . How can it be ? Immortality ! ... Super-science .
I didn't know Landau and Bain were singers...
Covid19 pandemic, aids, the Internet, cell phones, and you tube and Netflix that what the future holds
I love Barbara Bain+++ . Today, I watched the original M.I. When, last winter I Had a flu, I just sat on my recliner, watched the original Mission impossible days and nights. Some of episodes I watched more than Two times.😁😄😆
Man, I had no idea what range he had, incredible!
wonderful...thanks for the upload...i was 16 in 1970...i remember shows like this.
Wonderful. Nice historic reminder of how good pop music was during the 60s. Landau and Bain were of course not great singers -- they were actors, first and foremost -- but their singing here, although kinda pale next to that of Goulet and Lawrence, is pretty decent. And Goulet is outstanding here. He reins in that big, borderline-operatic baritone to sing lyrically, and beautifully.
Love the video , scrooge version was better, im jk ... i think both are amazing
Acting is tough sole destroying work with rejection just around the corner. I admire those who are brave enough to try. Landau was great and full if what it took to make it!
Excuse me for being ignorant here as I don't know the song, was Martin pretending to cough or was it genuine?
I think it was to emphasise the effect of certain unpleasant toxic substances that Carol was singing about, so yes, it was pretend I'm pretty sure. It was a fun medley though, wasn't it?
@@janenewman9388 Thanks Jane. It was funny. Thank goodness for the internet and You Tube to be able to see these videos. I come from the UK so these programmes were not shown here. It's great to see them now
@@soniapedder87 I'm in the UK too and I totally agree about how nice it is to be able to see things we'd have missed otherwise :-)
The “breathe deep” tune was part of an anti-pollution radio/TV PSA that was popular at the time
I would LOVE to find the James Taylor/Carly Simon show from Kraft. 1970? 1971?
Me too. Didn't know there was such a show😊
I loved both of them in Space 1999 (currently watching re-runs) but I had no idea Martin Landau was quite such an amazing actor. That audition sketch is incredible and very touching - Martin Landau breaks my heart with his emotions! Thank you for posting this - I just love it.
Barbara Bain 🎵🎵🎵🎵
I missed this when it was originally broadcast. I loved them all. Two wonderful couples. Thank you for finding this and sharing it.
This is amazing. Such wonderful performances by both of them. I have always been a huge fan of them both. Thank you so much for sharing this.
For a singer Martin Landau is a really good actor ;)
Awww, I think he sang beautifully! I have to say Robert Goulet has the most gorgeous voice, and you can see which two are the trained singers, but I think Martin and Barbara did a grand job nonetheless.
Barbara Bain was lovely, but man, girl can't carry a tune!
For how many actors, did it propel their careers by leaving their series jobs? Very few!
marty! wow....
When television was good
amazing, what great actors !!!!! Martin Landau made me tear. and BB is also very good at singing and acting. thanks for posting it . from France
Amazing stuff. Thanks so much for this.
WOW! Great job from both!
Thank you for finding and posting this. It's really incredible and wonderful. Now I would love to see more!
Thank you so much. As Landau Fan, I never saw it before. You have made my day! Greetz and a big Thank You from Europe! And if there is more, please... post it. What a incredible Piece, you found!
