Hardware Control with Collimator Part 4
From linear feedback to neural networks, learn how to control Quanser hardware with the Collimator app and Python package.
In Part 4, we'll look at some more advanced strategies to get our pendulum to swing up and balance. First, we'll investigate trajectory optimization, and then we'll train a neural network to accomplish the swing up task.

From linear feedback to neural networks, learn how to control Quanser hardware with the Collimator app and Python package. In Part 1, we'll see how to build up simple block diagram models and run simulations in the web-based Collimator app, and then connect to the hardware locally using the Python package directly. From linear feedback to neural networks, learn how to control Quanser hardware with the Collimator app and Python package. In Part 2, we'll get into controller design with Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) controls applied to the task of regulation (disturbance rejection). We'll also introduce how to use the Collimator app to graphically build a block diagram, and how to integrate 3rd party libr...

From linear feedback to neural networks, learn how to control Quanser hardware with the Collimator app and Python package. In Part 3, we'll start on the "swing up problem": how to go from a down position to an up position. This takes us into the realm of non-linear control, where we'll adopt a strategy inspired by energy shaping. Links: • Collimator app: app.collimator.ai • Collimator Python pa...

PhD student at Clemson University here. I am not sure if you guys are taking interns, but I would be very interested. I am working in control theory and am always interested in supporting/being apart of efforts to help make the sim2real translation of control theory easier!
