Hi there, I'm sorry i missed your comment. Chances are you may be attempting to enroll an alarm.com camera into a skybell app ? Some models look and are exactly the same but may only work on the alarm.com app. Which means you have to pay for it through Alarm.com Hope you already figured it out, and again my apologies for not responding.

I'm getting the same results.
@@fhenry89 that ended up being because the camera was not compatible with the app. The model was specifically made for home security companies and they do not allow you to connect it directly to the app. That is what customer service told me. I ended up replacing it with a different brand of door bell.

I factory reset mine as my alarm service made me set it up through their app. I cancelled their service and now want it through the Skybell app. Once I factory reset the skybell, the app finds the bell but when I select it, it just spins and never advances from the select your doorbell screen. I think I will have to call their tech support =(
Hey Nicholas, just out of curiosity, do you have the slim sky bell or the round one ?
If you have the slim it is proprietary to alarm.com platform only. But the round one can work on either skybell or alarm.com.
@@glen.campbell i have the slim one. It took me a while but I figured it out. What i ended up having to do was set it up on my (work phone) Galaxy phone. Once I tried it on the galaxy it worked just like the video. For some reason my pixel 5 was not allowing it go get past that part. I logged out on my work phone, then in on my personal phone, works just fine!

$AVE your money. Skybell is crap! ANYONE promoting it is getting paid. Over 30 year Gen. Contractor here. Skybell is complete crap! Goes out of synch. When you're talking to someone on it it doesn't record that session (if you're avoiding someone on your doorstep and telling them to leave wouldn't you WANT THAT recorded???). Poor customer service (ie: NON-existent). We even have a VILO mesh wi-fi with PLENTY of speed right at the doorbell. STILL doesn't synch'up. Also the motion discretionary settings are a joke. Doesn't matter if you set it to the lowest setting, neighbor's tree OVER the fence still triggers it. It's like they added that setting so you'd believe changing it actually does something. It also misses PLENTY of motion when it's even set to HIGH. So, it doesn't matter. If an alarm company recommends Skybell, FIND A NEW ALARM CO. It's a crap product.

Thank goodness they discontinued the round ones. There were a terrible design.
I tried it and it did not work. ADT said I have to connect to the network the doorbell creates a then follow your direction. That doesent work
Absolutely, If you look at 3:05 seconds into the video it shows you how to connect to the network the skybell creates. If you have an iphone it may be different and may not pop up. Some phones will make you go to your wifi settings to find it. Make sure to do a factory reset also..
This allows you to connect to the doorbell camera and once connected it will allow you to choose which wifi you would like to connect to.
Can I add the app to a smart TV instead of my phone?
You can integrate a SkyBell Video DoorBell with Total Connect 2.0 by installing the SkyBell device and then completing the process through the Total Connect 2.0 Mobile App on an Android or iOS device. You will need to have the SkyBell feature enabled on your TC2 account for this to work. Read more: www.alarmgrid.com/faq/how-do-i-integrate-a-skybell-video-doorbell-with-total-connect-2 Please note that this process works with both the classic round SkyBell DBCAM and the rectangular Honeywell DBCAM-TRIM. Do not attempt this process with a SkyBell device designed for use with Alarm.com. Remember that you can only have up to five (5) SkyBell devices per Total Connect 2.0 account. Hope this helps..
By the way the sky bell app does not work with builders versions of skybell it is locked to the security carrier your Builder has designated for you which is kind of a rip off and I had to call both skybell and my security company to figure that out
Hey Alan, Is it a skybell ? Round ? If you have a chance send me a pic. There are a few companies that use the skybell and have them programmed for their system if it is not purchased through skybell itself.
@@glen.campbell Its the SKYBELL Slimline, rectangle with black top and camera, I think, and its a builders install for the local crappy security company so its proprietary for them i think, I tried to hack it and it didnt like that. I wanted to send a pic but I cannot figure out how. Pisses me off they sold it like it was mine when i bought the house, but its not, its the security companies property.
@@alanaddington Ok, so you will need to have the alarm.com platform to make it function. Unfortunately there is a monthly charge attached to it. This is done so it prompts you to purchase the security platform via builder. Probably a Kickback between builder and security company most likely.

Just moved into this new house they left the skybell on but im having trouble connecting it , any pointers ? I watched you video and everytime I let go when it blinks yellow it goes back to blue.
Depends on what kind of doorbell camera you have. If it is a skybell you should have no problem factory resetting and following the video. But if it is an alarm.com slim or proprietary it will only work through the brand name such as alarm.com or ring etc. The only doorbell that works off both alarm.com or skybell is the original round ones before alarm.com starting making their own. Does your doorbell stay blue ? Because that means it is powering up or power cycling. Sorry for the late reply. my apologies..
Hi Karla, when it goes blue it usually means that there is not enough power. The transformer for your doorbell is probably not giving enough power to fully charge the battery and stay online. The transformer is usually found in the basement near your electrical box. I would recommend to purchase a transformer above 12V. You can grab the kit from Canadian tire or Home Depot it actually comes with the doorbell chime for your hallway and transformer. Last time i purchased it cost me around $30 to $40. If you are handy just unscrew the doorbell and check the voltage. It has to provide 11 + volts. Anything around 10.5 volts it will give you trouble.. Hope this helps..

Do you need an iq panel in order to connect skybell to wifi? I cant seem to connect skybell to wifi
Hi there, no you do not need an IQ panel in order to connect a skybell doorbell camera. If you have an alarm.com skybell which is usually a slim doorbell then you will need an alarm.com account. But if you have a skybell (round) or purchased from skybell then you will only need the skybell app. Once your skybell powers up and flashes red and green then that means it is sending a signal through wifi waiting for connection & installtion. You should see it on your phone like searching for a wifi connection. I hope this helps ?
your right next to your router why have you got poor wifi connection this happens all the time
Hey Graham, I actually had to change my router with Rogers. It seemed the wifi was cutting in and out alot. Mostly unnoticed by me until i started using devices that rely on it 24/7. Try monitoring your noise ratio, there are a few good apps that you could use that will tell you how strong the signal is and if it drops or even if your internet is throttled etc..
I don’t have he doorbell camera option on my app, help?
You need to contact your security provider so they can add that option to your service plan on alarm.com Once they add that option it will appear in the menu links top left of app. Then you will be able to proceed. Good luck !!
I finally got it to work after six months I gave up and tried several times yesterday and then two times today and for some odd reason it finally started to download and I got it to work. I watched a video several times I couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working I gave it one more chance and for some odd reason it works now. Very happy now!
Complete junk. General Contractor here of 30 years. Our (GREAT) alarm co. installed the Skybells on our own home. The knock out of synch. PLENTY of signal to both units. We even have wi-fi boosters in the home. They're junk. I have a friend with RING and NEVER, EVER has had an issue. Also with Skybell... if someone is at your door and you look at the camera while they are there (if it's someone you don't want to see/talk with) the Skybell does NOT record and incident. So, what's the point? When you get a notification someone is at your door, by the time their app logs you on to see who it is... THEY'RE GONE! Cripes... Amazon BLINK cameras have WAY BETTER software (and sensitively adjustments). With the sun on our front and trees moving, even on the LOWEST sensitivity we're getting notifications every 30 fricken seconds. WHAT is we're away or driving. Does idiot Skybell want us to DISABLE the motion feature of our doorbells until the wind stops? WHAT KIND of security is that? I'll bash these cameras on our business page, website, to clients and anyone that'll listen. Skybell is UNreliable JUNK! Skybell is the saddest joke on the electronic market. SKYBELL = JUNK!

Hey there, unfortunately not. You have to pick one or the other. If your doorbell camera is skybell then you can use the skybell or alarm.com app. But if you have a new alarm.com doorbell (not skybell) camera it can only be on the alarm.com app. Sorry for the delay in response. Stay safe..

Depends on the doorbell camera you have and where you bought it. If you have a round skybell you can download the skybell app. If you have it attached to a security system from a provider then you could have it attached through alarm.com

Yes, i believe you received the slim doorbell. When they first came out they only came in the round doorbell camera. But the programming and setup is the exact same for alarm.com
I just have to say, this video was worth its weight in GOLD!!! Alarm.com wanted to charge me $125 to come out and perform the exact same process that literally only cost me 10min of my time. Thank you so very much!!!! We're back up and running and safe and sound.
