UNORIGINAL (2020 SMW hack) - Level Compilation
In December 2020, while I was in quarantine, I compiled a video of three levels I was working on at that point, including Seeing Some Saws version two. The other two levels were meant to be later world levels, but I don't have much info on them.

The first video on Foresta Maestosa, what would eventually become Critters and More in Episode 1. Only goes up to the second half of the level. Nothing really to say about this one. Kind of boring, to be quite honest with you.

The first time Seeing Some Saws was shown off, the initial version at least. Not too different from the final version, besides some adjustments to the obstacles, and of course, only part of the second half finished.

This was the first level ever shown off of UNORIGINAL, posted all the way back in May 2020. I'm calling this the initial draft, because there are some differences between this and the summer demo released the following July. This was remade in Episode 1 as Getting Started.

A simple level that Fuzzy Vision was based on. I had to go back and do some editing because, unfortunately, around 40 seconds of footage was lost in the retrieval process, going up until the bonus room. There's still a good chunk of the level, so I decided to post this anyway.

The original version of Lakeside Antics. This was much harder and had no focus whatsoever. The vibes weren't there, as I intended it to be a calm level, but it was anything but. Kind of crap, to be honest. I don't like this one.

An interesting gimmick level where you use the cages to go behind walls to progress. The only problem is that it made the level very slow and uninspired, so it was dropped quickly.

My first and only time submitting a level to a contest. I think I kind of missed the point of the contest, hence why I ranked lower than I expected (66th if you're curious). Not saying it's a great level, I think I could have done a lot more to make the gameplay more fun. There were a lot of areas where you had to stop for the enemies, and that's more tedious than anything. I don't like this on...

After the only demo was released for UNORIGINAL, I was disappointed upon looking back at the levels, and I knew I needed to do some major overhauls. I started with Seeing Some Saws, as I felt it was the easiest to work around. I wanted to make it a fast-paced experience but not difficult. I think I could have done more to it, but overall, I enjoy it more than the original.

Nice concept! I understand the N64 reference.
There is a NEW update as of Nov. 20, bringing the episode up to v1.1. The link to the download has been updated in the description. You can find the update notes inside either of the thread links there too.
NOTE: I didn't realize this until after the upload that there is a part of the video that kind of skips and tries to hang up around the checkpoint. This became a common issue that I didn't discover until I started editing other videos after this one. I promise the issue is fixed in those videos. It seems to be an issue with my capture device, so I'll work on doing some troubleshooting soon.

That was a fun watch. Some of the ideas you were implementing into your levels I think were really cool. Makes me wish I still had my old levels.
Same here. I've actually been cataloging what projects I've done in the past, and I hated that I didn't keep backups of any of the stuff. I can remember what I've done somewhat, but not entirely.

It's kind of funny, because this map was actually made in 2020 when I was in quarantine for COVID, but I never really showed it off in the proper way. Thanks for the comment! :)
