Dormant tracks in the tunnel, now revealed, being good.
Note! Any private attempt to do this flying will end up in heavy fines. Being approved and licensed on this railroad this could be done but some leading people might dislike it. Being the first attempt flying a drone through a real tunnel, the motion comes from a novice flying. Traffic is present at any time to finish the work on the line. Regular traffic is scheduled to take place 2025.
Dormant tracks in the tunnel, follow up. Part 1 of 2.
Tunnels have been faschinating since childhood. Going by train, visiting grandmother, sometimes the thrilling tunnels were there, sometime not. Since long I know why. Different routes. To make this recording a walk through the pitch black tunnel was needed. The exact conditions there were not fully known but turned out okey using a headlamp. No tripping at all but it felt risky sometimes. Tired...

    Very nice. I tried a similar thing a few days ago. I would proceed the drone more rapidly and then let it hover in place while I walk toward it. Then proceed the drone again and repeat. Then when editing the video, remove the non-moving parts. But keeping it pointed straight was nearly impossible.

    • @Stefan_Boerjesson
      @Stefan_Boerjesson 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      First time flying in such narrow space for that long distance. To speed up the filight, yes. One disadvantage would be a clear sig sag flying as it's impossible to keep a straight heading and more speed bring the drone more to the side and that position needs to be corrected. Guess every edit will bring a jump to the motion. Thank You for watching and bringing tips.

    • @Stefan_Boerjesson
      @Stefan_Boerjesson 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The major reason for the low speed was to keep other people safe, not making anyone upset, by flying close to my own person. If You look at the controller screen video You'll will see that the view of the drone changed into various system menus several times. Impossible to fly without the camera view.

    The Home point symbol is calculated from where the drone knows it is, and a *compass direction* from the drone. It also assumes the existence of a plane field and does a bit of trigonometry to decide where to put the H in the image. IF there's a significant difference in the H and where you expect it to be, it is likely the compass is out of calibration at that location; unsurprising given the amount of metal likely embedded in the concrete. Once it got out over the water away from all that metal it recalculated the direction to fly. If the compass remained out of calibration you will almost certainly get a "fly away" drone trying to reach home but it has the wrong direction to fly to get there. That's when you cancel RTH and just fly it manually. I almost never use RTH, did so for the first time a couple of days ago and was surprised that it came in on a slope rather than straight down. This could be bad in a crowded environment; trees or building.

    • @Stefan_Boerjesson
      @Stefan_Boerjesson 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I carried the not powered drone out to its take off point. Took off and waited for it to established the Home Point. Then, on the control, executed "Update H P to controller position" which was confirmed. After that RTH was pressed just for checking the system up. Compass calibration was needed December 2 2023 the last time. The odd thing, as I find it, is the odd positioning of the yellow H out in the water, and first heading for it. Now and then I see the H being seriously wrong, at distance, but managing later, at closer distance. No, RTH is an emergency functioin not used, only the H now and then. Look at the going home, landing, in the video "Fourth attempt......". Thanks for Your long message, and watching.

      When I arrived thr small vehicle yellow train left. It concists of a tie changer, a tamper, and some more. The cars come from Nordmark - Klarälvens Järnväg where the transported things for the Uddeholm company. The crane car is built on a transfer car, originally transporting normail gauge cars on the narrow gauge tracks. We have both a claw for ties, fallen trees, rails etc and a bucket for sand, soil, etc. Picking cut down weeds we add a flat car at the crane end of the car and get double spaces for the rubbish. Yes, it's a very useful thing.

    This was filmed in Sweden, as Green Cargo is the Swedish freight operator. Also, the SJ Rc has been the most widely used electric locomotive in Sweden since the late 60s and early 70s. They’re very old.

      Thanks. You can be sure it's there! Look for the masts next to the tracks! It's said that Sweden use rather thin wires compared to other railroads. Thank You for watching and writing.

      Thanks Dave! As a matter of fact there's a project planned together with Thomas P, a Swedish train driver, launching cab ride videos, that he will tell when he will be driving that train and I'll try to record it. Using a second drone, maybe I can catch his face, if he's directed to the northern bridge.... Thank You for watching and commenting.

      Thanks a lot Dave! As there's nobody conducting the big show it's just to get into the air and find out what's going on. I think it's an 8 ton machine, some 75 liter per minute hydrulic capacity. We have a small weed cutting unit but it barely manage 1 inch trunks. Thank You for watching and writing.

      Yes, it really is. At the most far away there's a wind shield, a place for grill, places for sitting. Tha's what was zoomed in there. Thanks for watchind and writing.

      Thank You my friend. Me to, love drone flying and recording things. A fresh nature recording comes soon. The city is Gothenburg, Sweden. Having close to a million people living there. Thank You again, and thank You for watching and writing.

      That's okey. I don't expect 100% attention for every video. Watch when You feel like. As viewers in general look at 10% I decided to launch many shorter videos instead of one long video. Right or wrong? Future will tell. Thank You for Your kind words. I love flying and recording, trying to record new happenings, using new angles, new approaches. There's a lot of other things I could do but for now drone flying is the great interest. Thank You for watching and writing my friend.

      Thank You my friend. To be honest, fishing in that pond gave a poor result. The chimneys are bad. One is 15 meter taller then my allowed 120 meter altitude. The other chimney has antennas not making it safe either. Staying clear of those obstacles calls for observing and knowing the position of the drone. Thank You for watching and commenting.

      Thank You Dave! The first pass in the afternoon often gets slow, dull. When no more battery remains the trains circle like ants on the nest..... Thank You for watching and commenting.

      Thanks Dave! At the time 06:10 the 2 tracks are overloaded when 4 trains are competing. It looks like the single loco was hidden between the switches to allow the passenger train to pass around it. Then the next cargo train follows the first... Puuh... Thanks for watching and commenting.

      Thank You my friend! The original is recorded in 4K 60 FPS but Microsoft Clipchamp only exports 1080 if I don't pay 13$ per month..... Flying is fun. Recording and uploading material for viewers feels good. This is a place I passing by very often so it takes no extrra time to fly and record. Thank You for watching and commenting.

      Thanks. I seem to look in the wrong direction rather often. There are 4 lines in different directions. At the time 02:20 I could hear the train rumbling by next to me, and swings around the camera. There's a little white car between the bridges, near the river, from where I fly. Thanks for watching and commenting.

      Thanks Dave! No prior exercise done so I'm satisfied. The small drone climbs, at maximum, 1 foot per second and the bigger one climbs at 2 feet per second. Different joystick strokes needed... At take of they sat some 2 feet apart on the curved roof of the car. Behind the Mavic 3 pro the radio antenna of the car was sitting... All was mentaly prepaired during several days. Thanks for watching and commenting.
