Incredible there are still some hanging 😱
@@lyonheart84 yeah but the birds had found them and eat half of them, even with last night temperatures of 22 degrees they were still good to eat!
Way to go Serg, time to bundle up for the winter.
@@robertmangiacapra9281 definitely it is! Upstate New York got approximately 70” of snow ❄️ this weekend and we scraped it off so far!
You better believe it! The last three days have been balmy temperatures of 22 , 13, and 15 at night and for tonight 22 degrees Fahrenheit lakes are freezing 🥶 already and snow for Thursday! Just like u like it! You are missing out!

Hello Anutka !8 years it’s way too long ,your plant should have flowers on the third or fourth year , not matter if it’s male or female! What’s your growing zone? I’m in zone 6b! On my plants plants the female leaves have the shape of female bottom and the males are pointy like a pencil! Hope this helps , have a great weekend!
I HAVE MY PLANT FOR 8 YEARS, NEVER HAVE FLOWERS AND FRUITS, WHAT THE PROBLEM??? I STILL DONT KNOW HOW TO IDENTIFY MALE FROM FEMALE, YOU JUST SHOW DIFFERENT LEAF??? IM CONFUZE
Excellent job 👏🏼 great video indeed
@@GardeningWithCoffee Thanks ! Glad you’ve enjoyed! Have a blessed winter!
I can't stand eating the furry skin of kiwi either Sergio, I think you'd have to be a bit desperate to eat it lol. The golden kiwi does have a thinner, smoother skin that you could probably eat
@@lyonheart84 I can only agree with you Brett! I’m always thinking that if they get stock around my tonsils I will be in a coughing situation 😝 lol . I had those golden kiwis this year and were exceptional, but peeled it off!
I am interested on cuttings
Thanks Bobby!❤
Very good job Serg
Nice job Sergio, hopefully we have another mild winter. Best Wishes!😊
@@pjorge8363 thanks P Jorge !it definitely have been the best Indian summer ever! Have a blessed weekend!
You do put in a huge amount of winter storage work sergio, i think that would be well beyond the effort I'd be prepared to go to , i probably wouldn't grow all those things 😁
@@lyonheart84 yeah it’s a lot of work but you know that our winter 🥶 are very harsh and it’s very good to be able to do things that are good for your well being! Hopefully 🤞 we will have a nice warm winter! Thanks 🙏🏽
Great job Serg
You've got a LOT of work ahead of you still Sergio 😱
@@lyonheart84 that’s for sure, I’ll have to do it at night time because daylight is getting shorter soon after work !
It is an amazing Garden!
@@ianury5614 Thanks amigo!
Hello Sergio I am also starting to get my fig trees ready for the deep sleep. Like the way you insulated your fig trees with the bags/leaveBest Wishes, be well!
@@pjorge8363 Thanks amigo Jorge !hopefully you’ll be able to leave your trees ingrown too! If you are not sure about it you can put it in a grow bag in the spring in ground and pull it out at the end of the season!! Blessings!
Fabulous to see those huge bunches of fruit compared to the small fruit i get in ones and twos in our climate haha
Hi Sergio, love your videos, especially the pawpaw and fig videos! Just wondering if you made that pawpaw bread? I ask because my husband and I had a bad experience with eating pawpaw pancakes this year after eating raw pawpaw for years without any trouble, and learned that some people cannot eat pawpaw that has been heated. Sensitivity varies between individuals, but I wanted to make sure you knew in case you have not eaten cooked pawpaw before. Love your videos! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise!
@@SEJohnson-c8b Thanks Mr Johnson! And no , I haven’t made the pawpaws bread yet and hopefully 🙏🏽 all goes well, I’m highly allergic to bees stings and pass out with out epinephrine injection and I used to be a beekeeper for over 10 years until it started to happen! So all hope it’s going to be a delightful experience! Thanks
Hi Sergio, love your videos on pawpaws and figs! have you tried the pawpaw bread? I ask just because some people can't tolerate baked pawpaw even if they can eat it raw with no issue. I found this out when I tried making pawpaw pancakes for the first time this fall and felt sick, even though I have enjoy fresh pawpaws all season long for years. Once again, love your videos, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
Thanks for sharing. It motivates a lot of people to plant paw paws.
Thanks! Hopefully the word gets around and many people find out this American hidden secret! Our largest and must delicious native fruit!
That's a lot of digging 😱
@@lyonheart84 yeah it’s my labor of fruit love, I have another fifty to dig up 🥵👨🏻🌾
Great idea Sergio best wishes😊
@@pjorge8363 thanks Jorge! I had to take advantage of the warmer then usual whether since that Olimpian fig have 2 third of it’s fruit on it! Can’t let it go to waist!
I wonder where this is at, like what state?
@@dandee7303 It’s in Rhode Island Northeast USA zone 6b!
Shame about that snapped branch, don't think I'll ever have to worry about that here 😂
@@lyonheart84 never say never Mr Brett! You could be there next year!🥹
And so tasty. Finally finished mine. Gracias

@@myvtec79 almost as good 👍
Nice Autumn round up thanks Sergio, hopefully a huge crop of persimmons next year 🤞
I hope so too! Frosts cooked all the flowers, but hopefully next year! Thanks amigo!
Hello Sergio, nice vid, cold frosts starting to settle hear in Mass, how are you making out amigo??? Best WIshes and GOD bless!
@@pjorge8363 thanks Jorge , the temps have gone down to 31 degrees and we about four light frosts so far and must of younger figs plants are almost leaves less, but I’m happy with the amount of figs that have been best ever! How’s your doing! Have a blessed weekend amigo!
Very nice! I planted an NC1 and a mango 2 years ago. How would you compare the flavor and texture of NC1 and Mango pawpaw?
@@poorias the nc1 it’s early to start ripping by about two weeks ,the flesh is lighter in color and flavor it’s closer to pears, the mango pawpaw it’s a tone of yellow and has a stronger flavor to the sweet sap (guanábana) but still they’ll have this characteristic flavor because they are geniality related! Thanks and luck with your plants!
Great fruit Sergio, mine are much smaller and not ready yet of course in our climate 😩
Very good Serg
@@robertmangiacapra9281 you still have time to catch a fly and be here for the harvest! Thanks amigo!
I watched your videos and learned about Pawpaws. I ordered 3 varieties from a well known Nursery. Plants were small. Out of 3 only 1 plant survived. Do you recommend a Nursery which sells some decent size plants. Thanks
@@RashidKhan-wp2vg my # 1 nursery is Starkbros nursery and Burntridge nursery , they’ll send you great quality plants!
Thank you very much for the information. Keep us updated about your garden. We really appreciate
Nice harvest! They look amazing. My pawpaw trees are struggling after 5 years in the ground. They have only flowers and are still fruitless.
@@RealLifeFruitopia Thanks George! I’ve been watching your videos for about ten years and can’t wait to see your pawpaws to start fruiting! At first I started to hand pollinate them the first year and then I did only half the tree to see if the bugs were capable of doing it themselves and it worked! Now I would only do it if a tree it’s too far from another! Hopefully this will be your year!
@@sergio34410 I added two new trees last year, let's see what happens.
Thanks for sharing your garden with us
Great great video!! Great advice!! Thank you for sharing!! 🦋🦋🦋
You are so 🙏🏽 welcome!
I love your videos Sergio but sometimes even on full volume I can barely hear what you are saying because you have a lovely calm voice, might need to hold the phone a bit closer or talk louder 😉. I make the same mistake myself sometimes and don't talk loud enough 😁
@@lyonheart84 Thanks Brett, greatly appreciate your input and will try to make a better audio on my next video. Thanks amigo!
Yum, do you sell cuttings? Thank you 👍
Probably in the spring, I’ll be trimming them before they wake up next year!
@sergio34410 sounds great, thank you, sir. 🙏
Ouch I think weed whacking your own tree might be the ultimate sin 😂. Lucky you that you have a warm enough climate to grow jujubes, they need consistent temperatures over 75f in summer to set and develop fruits which of course we don't often get 😢
Definitely a mortal sin !😢remember it like it just happened: dogs days of summer ( too hot 🥵 to do yard work) but I was doing it and my foot was touching a vine of poison oaks 😮which makes bad blisters , so went I reacted to my machine the damage was done 😢main tree was deadly wounded! I stopped and went to have a 🍺 beer 😢😢😢😢!
Your Thai guava and Feijoa plants look great Sergio. Your feijoa plants are now huge but they won't flower if the roots are too restricted, i really think you need to get them into larger containers if you want to stimulate flower and fruit production next year 🤞
@@lyonheart84 that’s a great suggestion Brett, don’t know why I didn’t thought about that? The Thai guavas recuperated very well this summer because their roots came out a bottom hole but feijoas couldn’t! So I’ll be putting them in in grow bags asap! Thanks amigo great a observation!
👍
George how are you amigo? How are your figs doing?
👍great job man keep it up.
@@myvtec79 definitely Amigo! You should try this sweet figs they will wake up the farmer in you!
They looked nice both on the inside and the outside Sergio, a lovely colour
@@lyonheart84 definitely my biggest and sweetest figs yet!
Very good job Serg😊
@@robertmangiacapra9281 Boby plan your trip soon or you’ll miss out!
So just to confirm Sergio, are those late breba figs or early main crop figs ? 😁
@@lyonheart84 main crop!
@@sergio34410 wow no way we'd get main crop here until October , if at all. Most people are harvesting breba here at the moment, the penalty of our cool summers
@@lyonheart84disclaimer: don’t forget that they had an early start in the green house but they only gained one week advantage over the in-ground one! And warmer whether helps;we’ve been mid 70s to low 80 for this week ! Thanks amigo!
I wonder what variety we would know your American brown turkey as ? The UK grown brown turkey has completely different leaves and fruits to the native brown turkey in the US. I also think the variety referred to as English brown turkey in the US is also different to our UK version. It's great that you are getting some ripe fruit in early September. I agree, to me figs taste like figs lol, they do vary in flavour and texture and colour of the flesh of course 😁
I can’t believe I didn’t see this before? Lol😮yes it’s quite difficult to get a definitive assessment of which one is real brown turkey, I have two brown turkey plants that are (brown) fruits and I also have one from a 200 years old nursery that is burgundy fruit ,so? All I know is I’m going to keep them 🎉and enjoy it! Hopefully I won’t miss one again! Have a blessed weekend Brett 😊
Hello Sergio, nice job keeping the fig tree alive thru the North East winters and having some nice figs to eat, enjoy my friend. GOD bless!
