Very nice! I planted an NC1 and a mango 2 years ago. How would you compare the flavor and texture of NC1 and Mango pawpaw?
@@poorias the nc1 it’s early to start ripping by about two weeks ,the flesh is lighter in color and flavor it’s closer to pears, the mango pawpaw it’s a tone of yellow and has a stronger flavor to the sweet sap (guanábana) but still they’ll have this characteristic flavor because they are geniality related! Thanks and luck with your plants!
Great fruit Sergio, mine are much smaller and not ready yet of course in our climate 😩
Very good Serg
@@robertmangiacapra9281 you still have time to catch a fly and be here for the harvest! Thanks amigo!
I watched your videos and learned about Pawpaws. I ordered 3 varieties from a well known Nursery. Plants were small. Out of 3 only 1 plant survived. Do you recommend a Nursery which sells some decent size plants. Thanks
@@RashidKhan-wp2vg my # 1 nursery is Starkbros nursery and Burntridge nursery , they’ll send you great quality plants!
Thank you very much for the information. Keep us updated about your garden. We really appreciate
Nice harvest! They look amazing. My pawpaw trees are struggling after 5 years in the ground. They have only flowers and are still fruitless.
@@RealLifeFruitopia Thanks George! I’ve been watching your videos for about ten years and can’t wait to see your pawpaws to start fruiting! At first I started to hand pollinate them the first year and then I did only half the tree to see if the bugs were capable of doing it themselves and it worked! Now I would only do it if a tree it’s too far from another! Hopefully this will be your year!
@@sergio34410 I added two new trees last year, let's see what happens.
Thanks for sharing your garden with us
Great great video!! Great advice!! Thank you for sharing!! 🦋🦋🦋
You are so 🙏🏽 welcome!
I love your videos Sergio but sometimes even on full volume I can barely hear what you are saying because you have a lovely calm voice, might need to hold the phone a bit closer or talk louder 😉. I make the same mistake myself sometimes and don't talk loud enough 😁
@@lyonheart84 Thanks Brett, greatly appreciate your input and will try to make a better audio on my next video. Thanks amigo!
Yum, do you sell cuttings? Thank you 👍
Probably in the spring, I’ll be trimming them before they wake up next year!
@sergio34410 sounds great, thank you, sir. 🙏
Ouch I think weed whacking your own tree might be the ultimate sin 😂. Lucky you that you have a warm enough climate to grow jujubes, they need consistent temperatures over 75f in summer to set and develop fruits which of course we don't often get 😢
Definitely a mortal sin !😢remember it like it just happened: dogs days of summer ( too hot 🥵 to do yard work) but I was doing it and my foot was touching a vine of poison oaks 😮which makes bad blisters , so went I reacted to my machine the damage was done 😢main tree was deadly wounded! I stopped and went to have a 🍺 beer 😢😢😢😢!
Your Thai guava and Feijoa plants look great Sergio. Your feijoa plants are now huge but they won't flower if the roots are too restricted, i really think you need to get them into larger containers if you want to stimulate flower and fruit production next year 🤞
@@lyonheart84 that’s a great suggestion Brett, don’t know why I didn’t thought about that? The Thai guavas recuperated very well this summer because their roots came out a bottom hole but feijoas couldn’t! So I’ll be putting them in in grow bags asap! Thanks amigo great a observation!
👍
George how are you amigo? How are your figs doing?
👍great job man keep it up.
@@myvtec79 definitely Amigo! You should try this sweet figs they will wake up the farmer in you!
They looked nice both on the inside and the outside Sergio, a lovely colour
@@lyonheart84 definitely my biggest and sweetest figs yet!
Very good job Serg😊
@@robertmangiacapra9281 Boby plan your trip soon or you’ll miss out!
So just to confirm Sergio, are those late breba figs or early main crop figs ? 😁
@@lyonheart84 main crop!
@@sergio34410 wow no way we'd get main crop here until October , if at all. Most people are harvesting breba here at the moment, the penalty of our cool summers
@@lyonheart84disclaimer: don’t forget that they had an early start in the green house but they only gained one week advantage over the in-ground one! And warmer whether helps;we’ve been mid 70s to low 80 for this week ! Thanks amigo!
I wonder what variety we would know your American brown turkey as ? The UK grown brown turkey has completely different leaves and fruits to the native brown turkey in the US. I also think the variety referred to as English brown turkey in the US is also different to our UK version. It's great that you are getting some ripe fruit in early September. I agree, to me figs taste like figs lol, they do vary in flavour and texture and colour of the flesh of course 😁
Hello Sergio, nice job keeping the fig tree alive thru the North East winters and having some nice figs to eat, enjoy my friend. GOD bless!
Thanks amigo! Definitely I’ve been through my learning curve and hopefully I’ll improve some more, there’s definitely room for improvement! Thanks George have a blessed weekend!
Incredible Sergio, you really grow the fruits that are mostly suited to your climate
Very good Serg
@@robertmangiacapra9281 Good morning brother thanks, when you’ll come come back before the fall we will be having Italian figs ! Blessings and hope to see you soon both!
Thanks amigo! It’s really my refuge ,after work I’m always there just enjoying it or maintaining it but for the must it’s relaxing! Thanks appreciate your words, have a blessed weekend amigo!
Great job Sergio, you have a beautiful backyard your hard work has really paid off, a true paradise!!! Best Wishes!
Thanks amigo! They were so fresh , it was almost like eating green coconut 🥥!
Great to see you getting a hazelnut harvest 👍
Fabulous Sergio, great to see the hazelnuts. Good pawpaw fruit production. I have to bag my few asian pears to stop the pests getting them
Thanks amigo Brett! The Asian pears 🍐 here gets attack by yellow hornets 🐝 every year but this year is been raining so much that’s cracking lots of them ! Struggles! Thanks Brother!
Great Serg
@@robertmangiacapra9281 thanks Robert!
Fussy kiwi cross pollinator name?

Its incredible the difference your summer heat makes Sergio, the summer has been terrible here. Your young fruits are now noticebly bigger than mine 😁
Definitely the rain this year is above normal and the heat is normal for summer high eighty’s low ninety’s no heat waves yet ( mid 90s and up) which is fine, hopefully you’ll get some good summer weather in your England, your plants are going to love it! Thanks amigo!
@@sergio34410high 60s, low 70s for the whole of July so far 🙄
@@lyonheart84 Wao that’s mid spring temps! Definitely a high tunnel would make your plants strive!
Me and three of my friends tried many various types of kiwi. None of them can survive in a hot climate. They do not survive zone 7b or 7a. Much to hot here. They are delicious and yours are the most beautiful vines Ive ever seen.
Thanks amigo! I’m really puzzled by it? I’ was thinking that your zone is the perfect one for all temper fruits: figs kiwis should be able to survive without any protection from heat or cold there. I don’t know? I have a friend in Virginia and his flowers a second time and not a fruit on it ,they dropped ( he had planted others for cross pollination ) hopefully next year they will flowers and get better results, thanks!
That kiwi vine is amazing! Looks great on the pergola.
@@PlasBachGarden thanks, it’s definitely my favorite it’s the longest harvest and a really nice to spend time under the shade! Thanks
@@sergio34410 Good to have a place to relax! I'm hoping to build a pergola here, might go with a kiwi vine too, still deciding, there are so many good climbers! Will post a video when I do!
Looking way better already Sergio 👍
Thanks amigo! Those pruner are definitely the tool to have to tame those wild vines!
Haha yes once the roots are established the new Spring growth goes crazy 😂
Yes it’s insane how fast they’re growing! I’m getting this trimming done today!
Its incredible Sergio that once your Summer heat gets going your fruit trees rapidly overtake the growth of ours here. Your pawpaw and jujube are already way ahead of mine 😂
Definitely! Heat is love for the trees once we get 50 degrees at night they just skyrocket ! Thanks amigo!
Looking good!
Thanks!
Many plants around fig transplant ❤
Yeah, many varieties of figs and other fruits 🍎! Thanks
Jenny Kiwi in bloom lovely plants ❤
Great to see your plants floweriny so well Sergio 👍
Thanks Brett,it’s definitely nice to see it doing well this year ! Saw your guavas regrowing hopefully she will flower too!
Excellent looking plants. I am also growing Jenny Kiwi next to my house wall in the UK and it is in full flower like yours.
Thanks! I guess we’ll be experiencing this fruit for the first time! Best of luck with it!
Wow they rooted so quickly Sergio. You are already so well organised 👍
Thanks amigo! I believe I should have waited one more week so that the roots would have been completely covering the the cups , but next time I’m going to be more patient!
Great to see your kiwis and figs taking off Sergio 👍
Thanks amigo!
Thanks for the updates Sergio, its easy to see that your trees catch up quickly with us here. Your thai guavas have survived well. Lol your rooster wants to sabotage your video making 😂
Thanks Brett! Yeah roster is definitely putting up a fight and he it’s been helped by my new microphone that even the birds sound quite powerful! Thanks amigo!
Nice job Sergio!!! Best Wishes!
Thanks amigo! Last year he didn’t use pollen and only had a set of three fruits , so hopefully 🤞 he’s going to get a better production this year!
Great that you could help out a friend
Thanks amigo! Two years ago I had hand pollinated it and had over 20 fruits and last year he decided to see if it’ was really needed and only had one flower with 3 fruits! So it’s possible to get some fruits, but why Take a chance!
Great to see that Asian persimmons are hardy there Sergio. The amount of space you have in your garden is wonderful with such a fantastic selection of fruit trees now 😁
Thanks amigo Brett! I’m experimenting with the Asian persimmons! I gave them this winter 🥶 the same protection I did for the in ground figs and so far it has work and that’s why I ordered the other two! Over ten years ago I failed by not protecting them! I’m going to keep experimenting and hopefully I’ll get them to survive!
Your Lilac is looking good - so it must be smelling great! 😎
Yeah she does ! Unfortunately I get my fruit trees names all mix up never mind flowers! Have a great day!
Hello Sergio, I brought my fig trees pre-maturely out a week ago relying on the weather channel which gave me the wrong report and most of my fig trees got blasted by the frost!!! Was so frustrating after all the work I have put into the fig trees. I believe they will come back, but they will surely be very behind!!!. Hopefully once it warms up they will bounce back! I hope your well. GOD bless hope your fig trees are well!
Hello Jorge! I feel your pain amigo! My whether people in Rhode Island are just unbelievable unreasonable too! I too put my pakistanís mulberry out two weeks ago and it got badly frosted , so now if they say it’s going to be low around 40 degrees I take it as 30 and turn on the heater on in the green house and relax knowing that my plants are going to be okay ! Hopefully your plants will make a comeback it’s early enough , but I won’t put any of my plants out until the 21th of this month, learned that last year! Thanks amigo ,have a great week!
Way to go Serg
Thanks amigo!
Hello Sergio, I also left my fig trees in my greenhouse and most leaves were burned. So heart-broken, hopefully they bounce back! Be well amigo!
Wao even inside the green house they got frost ? 😮that’s too bad amigo! I had bought a small heater that only uses 350 watts on Amazon and it’s programable and I only turn it on for temps below 35 degrees and it does a good job it’s called (Tesla heater) but it really has another name! Please check it out! Hopefully your plants will recover fast! Good night amigo!
