How does Chovy get so much CS?
Chovy gets record-breaking cs every game, so I looked more closely at how he does it. And the secret to insane cs is essentially a team decision to funnel as much farm into Chovy in the following ways:
1. Allow Chovy to remain in the sidelane as much as possible instead of over-grouping for objectives.
2. Create pressure elsewhere so Chovy is free to farm without worrying about being ganked.
3. Let Chovy grab camps close to the sidelane such as Gromp and Krugs.

Chovy is definitely the best cs-er in the game ,for better or worse ,but people should not expect to get his numbers in soloq ,you can have 10 cs per minute in soloq ,but above that you usually need to take away from camps or your other teammates ,which will most likely tilt them ,so try to get as much as possible ,but keep in mind his team allows him to get those numbers in the first place

Didn't the draft allow Chovy to farm like that? Senna focuses on collecting souls and Maokai is barely farming much. This basically means that the only suitable player to collect all the remaining CS is Chovy. If GenG hadn't drafted Senna, then all the excess farm would go to Peyz

    • @mambaforever3239

That’s true, but Chovy does have the reputation for it. Remember the Chovy CS meme? But yeah he’s always been an exceptionally powerful laner but was previously known to be lackluster in teamfighting and shotcalling. He’d be known to be late to teamfights or will be away on the sidelanes farming and pushing while his team is holding the fort. That playstyle definitely has held back his potential which is why Faker, Showmaker, and even Zeka have faired better on the bright lights. His haters call him choky ( I personally don’t agree) but that just shows Chovy’s reputation.

I love the small drawings you've done too on smaller details - combining the micro with the macro. Reminds me of old videos by Ciderhelm (e.g. "The Impossible Decision") where it's so easy to understand despite the concepts being quite hard to execute during a match and where at the time knowledge of the game was much lesser. The main issue is G2 has everything for them really. If they work on their early game again; then there's not a ton Fnatic can do. I think this is the weakest we've seen G2 all year, and if history has taught us anything, when G2 looks weak they tend to come back stronger after a break.

    • @ChasingCup

@@ChasingCup Yep. Though I do think that some of the G2 players may also be growing weary due to the end of the year coming. I don't see G2 keeping this roster for longer. I can see them getting Caliste to replace Hans in all honesty. KC would be stupid to not accept an offer like that from G2. It's just a case of if they're worried about their security in G2, the players likely start to panic. The only players I'd consider safe are BB and Caps. Who aren't really likely to underperform, so either the other 3 are going to overperform to keep secure at G2, or start to underperform which costs G2.

13:51 I wouldn't necessarily call this first play panic mode. This is pretty common trade to make if enemy takes Nash, FNC assumed G2 would play Baron through mid and bot since Ez was already pushing it, so they can heavy load the neglected lane to get some gold back. I'd say this is smart by G2 calling it out (FNC had to walk through lots of vision to get to top) and pivoting to punish it

I also think when EU teams face G2 they lose their minds, since G2 has been undefeated for a long time. They make many mistakes because they play under lots of stress and pressure. We saw several teams throwing vs G2. For example BDS, MDK and recently FNC. They often draft and itemize badly. For example in the last game G2 vs BDS series, no one in BDS team build anti heal against Mundo and Maokai. Nuc could buy oblivion orb or Ice could buy Mortal Reminder instead of LDR

Don't you think that their drafts were also problematic? I mean in games when Razork played AP junglers they didn't have a true tank. We know that Warmog is an OP item in this patch. Especially for Ornn or Leona. I think if Oscar picked a tank like Ornn or Poppy with lots of cc he was more impactful in team fights and Noah could play better with less stress. All their 3 drafts were early game comp. They should have picked a scaling champ for the late game. For example if they picked Lucian mid they could pick Zeri for adc. If they picked Ezreal adc they could pick Azir mid. They beat G2 with champs like Ornn or Azir in the previous BO5. I wonder why they kept picking Lucian Renekton all 3 games while they saw it didn't work out

I ma fnatic fan since season 1 which feels like forever, and I really hope like never before they will put their shit together and win season finals. G2 vs Fnatic used to feel like rivarly back in the days. Now how we can talk about rivarly if we didnt win shit since 2018? Thats hurts really bad. I am waiting for a title and will be rooting for them.

I don't see fnatic improving any more with this roster. After these disgusting throws 100% their already fragile mental is just completely gone, with season finals and worlds left to play. Even though they have decent players they probably can't continue with this coaching staff and roster. Also the loser mentality/inferiority complex all EU teams have against G2 needs to be studied. I actually don't understand how being the underdog doesn't help these teams overcome choking against G2, even while G2 are completely sprinting it down.

Looking at RGEs downfall is really interesting but i think a lot of their "succes" was very circumstancial. It came in a time where other teams had identity crisis (Perkz Caps Situation, FNC Mental Breakdown, etc), lucky days and good metas. Of course they were a way better team back then but i never really saw them as a clear #1 team. I think a lot of luck was involved in that. Even in their LEC title run they got 3:0 by G2 in the round before to then surprise a G2 which was having a bad day. So the fall from grace wasnt as high as one might expect just looking at the raw numbers, which also explains their fast rise to glory - they started in LEC as 10th place. One main driving factor for their succes mustve been their really proactive and smart junglers paired with veterans like odoamne and trymbi. Right now theyre lacking that insane jungler whod just call an all in and dragon, the right tp flank from the veteran toplaner or the clutch engage from the sup. It feels like nobody actually wants to take responsibility or agency. Larssen is technically a good midlaner IF hes paired with people who are confident in their demands of time and ressources from their mid. Without that you play 4v5.

i do agree that being the very best relies on a lot of intangibles and ideal circumstances. rogue just had that perfect cohesive aggression

  • @maxchao3869
    @maxchao3869 หลายเดือนก่อน

Its just the management. Rogue without malrang and trymbi is a team without a shotcaller or playmaking. Then they also got rid of Odo for a mid tier carry top laner with no improvement in value. I don't believe comp and larssen were the worst mid adc in lec either, it's just that their jgl support literally has 0 idea what to do to win a game of league and they likely regressed because of continuous failure from it. It literally reminds me of how bottom tier lck teams play, which is just slowly roll over and lose lmao.

I mean nothing to be studied, people just don't face the facts. First issue are the EU narratives that were spammed at that time and still are: EU thinks that LEC is a high level which is false EU=NA and thats a fact and it has been a fact the entire time besides 2018-2019 and maybe 2020, but even at those years NA was just slightly worse and the diff was EU won but NA was second so yea. 2021 casters started selling the narrative that EU caught up to G2 when in reality G2 level heavily dropped and in 2021 NA had better results than EU, RGE was garbage. 2022 they manage to win but still their gameplay was absolutely terrible and criminal and got heavily exposed during worlds, nobody expected anything from them but they still managed to fail everyone. And still EU thinks it is better than NA when the only thing we got was 1 win over TES in last 4 years, that is just sad in grand scheme of things, and it didn't even matter cuz staff of TES managed to patch up the issues and make TES school G2 on EWC. That just speaks volumes how even the best EU team with best staff is still getting outclassed in both aspects Staff + players. I believe we can catch up but all other teams need to have G2 environment in order to succeed and stop treating their "gamers" as gamer but start producing professional athletes and treating them that way, this is no longer a game played for 100 bucks in basements, millions are involved. Like I said currently imo EU=NA and I would dare say that NA>EU, they just got more orgs that have a clue what they are doing compared to EU where only G2 knows. Recent tournament showings confirmed that, EU is getting farmed by NA constantly and this trend will continue because 2+2 = 4, they got a lot of good talent currently from different regions including their own, they re-invented LCS, changed the format + have better orgs that pay more + have more clue how to run the team + better coaching staff that includes a lot of KR veterans that are not paycheck stealers like EU's coaching staff.

if we're fact checking remember, NA getting to finals in worlds is still goal they haven't reached yet. they're the only region from the 5 major region (NA EU KR CN and even SEA/TW) to not win worlds. so yeah, overall EU > NA always won 1 worlds and 1 MSi, that's enough for me to know EU has something that NA hasn't also EU=NA became a thing after years of getting alot of talent from different region it'll be different if we have a full NA team getting to quarters(they did this with splyce, fnc and g2) or having 2 NA team reaching semis (which the LEC actually did) or even reaching finals in worlds. (TL did reached finals MSI but got defeated by G2) EWC as a reference is really bad imo, one of the events Riot wasn't actually prepared. later announcement of participation and it coincides with all the regions' their last split. so we have the smallest international tourney from a very huge main tournament overall in 2024. not even valorant is a game there.
