There's a little purple fringing at the maximum aperture of this lens, but it's really not a big issue considering its many great features. The night-time focusing of this lens is excellent. It can quickly lock onto the subject even in low light. The 56mm focal length is very versatile for daily shooting. It can cover a wide range of scenes from portraits to some landscapes. The F1.8 aperture creates a beautiful bokeh. The metal body construction makes it feel more premium and durable. When used with the Sony A6000, it forms a great combination that can produce high quality images in various situations.

All TT lenses are made for having some fun as long the light situation is ok. I sometimes use my 25mm for a vintage vibe. Try the same in low light situations and you know why a high price lens is high priced….😮🎉

The only reason I chose the Fuji system rather than something full-frame is the three LM lenses. 18,23,33 if you get the chance, I recommend giving them a try. The optical quality of these lenses is the best I have seen on aps-c.

Great pics! I have also taken my favorite picture with this lens and Sony A6700. I like the price, build and rendering, but video performance and corner sharpness have been a slight disappointment. I might have liked Viltrox more

Thank you for presenting your real world use of this highly underrated lens, too bad it performed really bad for me on my Canon M3 (bad magenta colour casting) probably due to poor lens-sensor interaction. Great to see how well it works on Fujifilm, which I recently switched to and have no regrets... The biggest atrocity here though is that you are not getting much more views! Cheers!

Nice video. I think I’d prefer this to the f2 version. What are your thoughts? I tried the native xf23mm f2 Fuji lens and was massively disappointed. Viltrox lenses seem to retain a bit of character. Fuji has started going for the clinical look. Would love your opinion

Hello, thnx for video! Question - this sigma can missing focus? I have sigma 30 1.4 and sony a6000, and I sometimes miss focus (often with f2.0/2.2).

M'y favorite macro and portrait lens since 1980.In digital a little better with my Sony full frame than with my fuji apsc.Very very good in all cases.

Honestly, the most important thing is lighting. Any pro level camera will still look shit in bad light. The gear has more to do with functionality than quality of the photo.

I have this lens with an L mount for my Leica T, great combination for street photography!!

I still use my Nikon D700 for headshot portraits and it performs well. Most images from clients are used online so 12mp is enough. I also have the D750 for when I need higher resolution. However, for someone getting into full frame the Nikon D700 used body and lens is likely available at an amazing price these days! ( I used my D700 for pro weddings from 2009 to 2015, then added the 24mp D750). I use both cameras these days for different jobs.

Why Aperture is 2.2 in every shot? In some cases I would use maximum of 1.4 for better subject separation and in more landscape photos I would use 5.6-8 for better sharpness.

I like your ‘wandering eyes’ style of camera work. It delivers a first person experience. Your clip also has an organic quality which could never be replicated by a smart phone (well not yet any way…!).
