They don't make entertainment like they use to
Lucy was in an underrated movie, an oldie called "Lured" on utube with George Sanders. Good rainy Saturday popcorn 🍿🍿🍿 viewing. Ramance/mystery/
It's a wild how they "borrowed" Black music and Black dance steps but somehow forgot to include Black people. 😬
The good evening friiiiieeeeends ending was hilarious LOL! Oh and obviously I'm here from I.L.L.! 25 year old here! :D
This shows how good an actress Lucille ball was cuz in her show, she was an abominable singer but here, you see her singing was amazing
This clip shows how short Gene Kelly was. I always thought he was taller. They don't make movies like this anymore. Good old fashioned fun. Too much killing/violence in today's movies. Need more feel good movies.
Now that's how you shake without looking like a tramp. It's tastefully and talented
We still love lucy❤
As fun as this is, it will never beat Lucy singing the song with Ethel Mertz.
I prefer Judy Garland's version but this version is so good because of Red. My eyes are focused only on him. He was a great actor, singer and dancer with the comedy to add. He's the best dancer in this entire number
Her dress is gorgeous!
put moree videos of Joan!
what movie is this ?
I love this song. Sticky Wicket played it in a 1920's Drum Set from New Orleans.
Fun number showcasing Lucy before her superstar days. She had a freshness here and it sounds like they used her real voice. I only saw three cuts during the song - they must have rehearsed it well. The asymmetrical shoulder accent on her dress is very stylish.
My favourite version of this classic melody. I first heard it back in the 1950s.
Joseph Cotten's timing with the cigarette and match is superb.
I can’t stand the movie DuBarry. So I never got to the end to see this scene. Bad, Bad on me!! Just when I think I have appreciated Lucille Ball, there is a magnificent showing of her talent. The Greatest! 🥰
Love this so much 😍
One of the best scenes in movie history, IMO.
She never thought she could sing nor dance. She could definitely sing and dance! Maureen O'Hara complimented Lucy's dancing talents when working with her. Lucy's good friend, Ann Sothern, turned down this role, originated by Ethel Merman. Lucy took it and Sid Guilerof dyed her hair red for it, her first MGM feature. Funny how life works!
The movie Lucy and Maureen O'Hara starred in together "Dance, Girl, Dance" really wonderful movie and Lucy did all her own singing and dancing in it. In fact, Lucy always said that Maureen O'Hara was perfect. While I like O'Hara in this movie, Lucille Ball was The Star - could not take my eyes off her - she was great as "Bubbles".
This is a nice song .and movie. It reminds me of when I went to see it with my dad , and he kept remarking that it was made at “ Hughes” aircraft , where he worked for years... I miss my dad, but this movie reminds me of him. 😇
I love the song but name movie?
Swing Shift
Choreographers never earn credit. Of course this looks so difficult.
This seems to be...a term of the contract ?? 😛 It's Satoshi of BTC. Carry on...
Yes, awesome talent. I was a realty appraiser in san diego county. Looked at her house in del mar.
I have this on a 45. A work colleague got it got me in the sixties, when it was hard to obtain.
Apparently this film is where Lucy acquired her red hair (not her natural colour) it worked so well she kept it for life.
FAB FAB FAB!!!!!
The title is You're The Top, not You're The Tops, Idiot! FFS.
She was in a three stooges short, can anyone name it?
Maybe 3 Pigskins?
Couldn't be a better match than Lucy and Virginia O'Brien. Two goofs on the loose.
Duberry was a Lady a great movie!
Would have been nice to mention the other five people in the song.
As someone else has commented (below) this superb performance is *not* by George Lewis's band with Bunk Johnson on trumpet: it's Bunk Johnson's Band with George Lewis on clarinet.
The film is THE THIRD MAN.
My favorite!
I dont like how they sing it not like vivian vance and lucilie ball sing it its perfect
This was really wonderful! Thank you for posting. My dad always played this on the piano when I was growing up. Hearing your cover brought me right back.
She’s a goddess! Bing was a cutie 😊
What a marvelous musical masterpiece this is! It has so much emotion while brilliantly conveying beauty, gracefulness and yes, sadness all at the same time. It absolutely compliments the splendid ending of the despair in the film.
Thank you ❤️🔥❤️friendship 😉🤪
You are welcome.
For those who are wondering this is from the film "Du Barry Was a Lady" (1943)
Yes, i love this last scene.
You can see here how amazing Miss Ball was.. before she’d stepped into her iconic role you can see her incredible comedic timing skills and the fantastic use of her body.. she was unbelievable. 🤍
Yes! A gloriously wonderful physical comedian. What pleasure she brought to the world. God bless her❣
Lucy was gorgeous! Such amazing talent!! 💗
A real love story.
And Gene Kelly
This is the greatest feminist scene ever.
Isn't it incredible how most Lucille Ball fans today are so young? Under 40,30. People who grew up watching reruns of her shows or movies, people who weren't even born when she passed. She was born in 1911 and in 2021 new people, kids are discovering her work for the first time. What a legend
Lucy is timeless - first saw I❤Lucy in 1951. Now in 2022 rewatching all seasons of ILL and loving it!!!
Grew up watching this in the 90's. Can't get enough of I Love Lucy.
I'm 25 years old big fan of lucille ball
カフェモーツァルトワルツと共に、この曲は映画のラストシーンに使われた、印象的なメロディー。
