They didn't miss it. They just decided to ship it as it was. The hybrid has been oversimplified on every car. With this one however they just couldn't bullshit a reason with even the sound not matching. E g. Merc forcing them to make it the way it was in the F1 car.

Yeah agreed… been like this for a long time and to be honest I’m happy they’re doing something about it, the fact that it needed this much public attention is kinda embarrassing tho😅

While I understand your sentiment, there’s a difference. On one hand, you have a game that is solely developing one specific series and the cars that race therein, so you would hope it’s a very accurate representation. On the other hand, you have a sim that spans far and wide, with multiple tire models/systems that are built from the ground up on a very dated framework. Whilst the GTP/LMDh cars aren’t accurate to real life as far as hybrid systems and tire models, at least they’re in progress. I’d rather have the cars now and have them worked on since that’s what iracing does: constantly evolve the cars as they learn new things. The product that iRacing provides is a very different product than LMU or ACC, which are focused sims. That being said, I’m not a “fanboy”. Just putting things into perspective. Yes, there is a standard that we hold these devs to when it comes to delivering accurate virtual replicas of these cars. In this case LMU takes it, as one would hope since that’s the only thing that sim is made for.

It would take 1 lap to see there are issues. Just based on corner speeds. For the tyre model, it takes half a lap to see how weird every new tyre model still is.

wouldn’t take long to spot the issues. I know they get some real life pros to test it and give feedback so weather it’s the pros that can’t drive it to the limit (which I doubt) or iRacing that just don’t necessarily listen that much🤷‍♂️ hard to know what’s going on behind the scenes. I also think they don’t want to give any pro teams an advantage over others…

Tbh their entire proccess with scanning, calculating, and doing work and comparing with CFD data from Gtp teams needs to be done better. Something must have really whent wrong for it to be so unbelievably unrealistic.

Most likely one can't be fixed without the other. If they increase speed and reduce aero that is going to cause more sliding in the fast corners which will produce more heat. I don't think it's going to be a quick fix. I think it could be this time next year for the hybrid.

But does lmu have hundreds of realistic cars and tracks

​@@TheSimracer277 on the road side of iRacing. All the damn cars suck because of the horrendous tyres except for the GT4's. The tyres in an instant change from wide slicks to a thin wooden tyre that practically bends on itself. It's really bad & has been like this forever.

@@markussoholmgaming yep. It's really the matchmaking that makes iRacing. There are so, so many issues I notice lurking in the game. The most obvious being the tyres but I think 90% of the sim racers don't have enough experience to see the issues with the tyres. How much does the issues with iRacing's tyres bother you Markus?

Sim racers want realism, I don’t care if it’s not fun and an absolute pain to drive properly, taming the beast and getting the most out of its potential is how I’m having fun. iRacing is supposed to be a simulation not another of those simcades

@ not true. We want competition. Maybe some 1000 irated player wants full realism and immersion. But those wont go for iracing anyways…

@@charls4831 I don't think that's it. iRacing release updates happen every 3 months so the December timing of it would've always been the case. I don't know where the problem lies because it is not like it's buggy or anything, it has no in game flaws of its own. It's only the realism of it that's completely off. I just don't think they knew any better

@@markussoholmgaming Well fair enough but still the fact they now came up with a sort of comment/explanation that they'll fix it after the community "soft outrage" about the realism of the car spoke volume about the current car validation situation in iracing. The game works just fine don't get me wrong, but when i pay/rent a premium for a simulation, i expect a premium content execution. They can do better.

Yeah tyre model feels better. Feels more flexible and you can’t actually have a little slide and not mess up your tyres

Exactly, I feel they only had to make the gtps so fast bc they are still only a couple seconds a lap faster than the lmp2 in iracing

The new tyre model is a big improvement and a lot more realistic but now the aero on the cars doesn’t match reality. I think keep the tyre model as is and reduce the aero then the cars would be perfect beside the hybrid system
