이 곡으로 저는 브람스의 작품을 처음으로 공부하게 되었어요. 브람스 작품 특유의 깊은 느낌을 살려보려고 했는데, 잘 들리시나요?
저는 사실 이 협주곡을 그다지 좋아하지 않았어요. 바이올린의 강렬하고 어두운 첫 등장이 저에게는 좋은 인상을 주지 못했거든요. 하지만 곡을 공부해보니, 그 강한 등장이 음악의 호흡을 더 길게 끌고 가고, 후에 등장하는 주제 선율을 더 아름답게 해준다는 걸 알았어요. 또, 오케스트라가 쌓아 올린 긴장감을 바이올린이 터트릴 때의 쾌감을 알게 되면서 그 부분이 좋아하게 되었어요. 이렇게 한 곡을 오래 공부하다 보면 그 곡의 매력들을 정말 많이 발견할 수 있는데, 그 점이 힘든 연습을 인내할 수 있게 해주는 것 같아요.
I got to study Brahms' work for the first time through this piece. I wanted to convey the profound feeling of his works. Can you hear it?
I actually didn't like this concerto that much, in the first place. The violin’s first appearance felt too intense and dark for me. But when I studied the piece, I found that the strong appearance leads to a longer phrase in the music and makes the theme melody more beautiful. Also, because of the ecstasy when the violin bursts the tension that the orchestra had built up, I got to like that part. Like this, when you study a piece for a long time, you can find many charms in the piece, and I think this helps me to endure the hard practicing.
