Abandoned Mine Explore
Just got back from an epic adventure at Gloverake Mine with my brother Jake! We explored the fascinating site and took a few photos. The highlight was definitely going down the mine shaft, it felt like stepping back in time! The atmosphere was incredible, and we captured some amazing footage in the process. its a shame you turned round when you did, you can get a lot further by climbing down the side of collapse, sometimes take a shovel. Now get a powerful torch n hat and get down there again. gr8t video btw
You know, when I was editing, i sat there thinking there was a gap there. i could have gone further, but your right lack of ppe ment i was already too far than I should have been. Great information though thank you 😊
For your safety never ever go into places like this without a hardhat I grew up in Rookhope and have been down before it is not safe at all, minor collapses i.e small bits of rubble falling are quite common and without a Gas detector you could very easily die from the many Highly poisonous gasses that can be found in old mines. Groverake is alright for gas but never go down another without that as you can even simply suffocate from lack of oxygen in a lot of mines. Groverake is very cool but its mostly flooded further down
Hey thank you for the heads up or down in this case? Haha, you are totally correct (hardhat required!) I'm a ex plumbing and heating engineer so definitely aware of the potential gasses. Just to add for all that watch, we research these places beforehand, never just jump down somewhere you don't know. Take a buddy and like Charlie said PPE !!!

I love this. I did something similar with my daughter when she was younger, for her photography assignment at school. I'll have to see if she want's to do it again.
