Parallel Alone, Is Only Half the Answer
Excellent point but as an Architect who gets buildings built just remember “no plan survives battle”. How that effects flying I don’t know as I’m just a guy having a virtual midlife crisis by watching people fly on TH-cam. I guess that is staying ahead of the aircraft like we try and stay ahead of the build.
THIS was right on.
A video of you explaining the 30k view of ifr flying and connecting the dots for those just getting started would be dope!
Very nice! We have always been taught power off stalls with full flaps (approach stall), power on with takeoff flaps (departure stall), and the accelerated stall. However, the #1 accident lately has been the go around stall/spin (full flaps full power) which is a stall configuration that is not required to learn and rarely practiced.. Seems like pilots are getting into trouble during go arounds getting uncoordinated (not enough rudder) and/or forgetting to retracted some flaps.
great analogy about architects planning before building...I worked as an electrical engineer for architects in college...the electrical contractors twice my age at the time just needed to follow my plans...then I went around and kicked the outlets to make sure the were in solid
this is such a good talk that people need to hear that you should be able to give out WINGS credit for it...many other instructors I know are the same way ah I don't see any storms let's go
and most other instructors hate doing anything on the ground since it doesn't count towards their 1500
She did a great radio call with that
That was a good one… and great coaching, “who cares if he yells at you.”. Private pilots have to be constantly reminded not to be intimidated by ATC and that it’s always good to use flight following.
Man you are great! I love your channel, those tiny tidbits of knoledge have helped me imensely already!
Thar was fun. There's so much training and newbies in that busy airspace, I can understand the frustration from ATC. You seem to be a solid instructor.
Gooood Work Jenny!
Great video on one of the most confusing topics for a student pilot. I think a question that doesn't get asked is: do I have to do anything when my first class medical expires as a student pilot? For example, If the paper copy says "First Class" Expired 09/2023, does a student pilot just keep this expired First Class paper copy in his/her wallet for 48 more months?
Great advice. I did this for my Instrument. Really enjoying your channel. Thanks.
Miles ahead of the Airplane... but, the plane never left the ground... hahahaha
I like this instructor! He’s patient, complimenting, and really funny! I need some help with my instrument
Oh great advice, I remember the first time at O’Hare something like inner to the outer at the snub and after that I was lost man it does help so much and you do learn sometimes the hard way.
Can you do this even if LAX is IFR (as long as you are still able to maintain VFR)?
Wow, what a beautiful flying plane
Good video
Excellent presentation. Thanks
Hello! Could you recommend a school that provides Pilot training on Cessna T206H?
Nice 👍
wow i was struggling to acknowledge what has been explained in this video. Great instructor, NOW IAM GOING TO PAY MORE ATTENTION TO THESE SENSATIONS.
Any chance of sharing what u use for go pro mount? Thx!
Right on! Good job CFI and student, that was the perfect answer!
Hi Yoel. I fly an SR22 here in the UK and have the full FAA IR. I’ve just discovered your channel. In the 3 quick videos I’ve watched tonight I ’ve learnt a whole bunch of new techniques. Great instruction and encouragement from you to your students too. Well done and thank you for this channel.
Awesome 👌
I agree with this instructor. There are times it just gets in the way.
For me, if flight is over 50 NM or B,C,D airspace. I use flight following and ADS-B with my head on a swivel. 😆
A good reminder!
Very good explanation on the different airspeeds. I'm a 61 yr old "Rusty" pilot & have not flown in 19 years due to raising a family. But still, always learning. I'd like to reciprocate your teaching with a poem I had written: Rusty Pilot Poem/Lament You scrape and save every penny while yearning to fly On a blue-collar wage, that you’re barely getting by Oh, to skim the surly bonds so fancy free This can’t be true that it’s happening to me. You study and learn airspace, Whiz wheels, VOR’s and E6B’s While you focus on performance charts and Center of gravity Your instructor reminds you, “Wilbur and Orville” from past ages They “looked outside and didn’t need no stinking gauges.” Off you go on your first solo, which becomes one of your greatest days As you pinch yourself saying, “this plane feels lighter, especially today.” freedom to fly is freedom indeed- but the Hobbs meter decides how far you’ll proceed Check ride passed, this is a dream come true Ask the instructor who really believed in you Raising a family comes first and the flying stops all too soon As I shout with a promise, “I’ll be back, maybe, hopefully by June.” Time flies when you’re not flying anytime soon As I dream about flying on a cool afternoon My kids heard my stories of when I used to fly They ask “Daddy what made you stop and why? My desire to one day fly will never waiver or wane when I spot a plane overhead, I still feel the pain Wife and Kids are older and money is still tight for me But one day when I pass on to heaven, it will be free. But for now, I’m a rusty pilot you see.
That is the best lesson! I beat myself up for bad landings so often, even when my passengers think it was good. Great reminder!
Love this
Hello sir, can u share more insight about when to/timing to round out? Sometimes I found myself being too late to round out 😢 appreciated
Came for the Takeoff, stayed for the emergency!
I’m about to quit, about to sell my plane and stop training , I’ve been trying hard for 2+ years , but Im on edge. To much bs. I spent lots of $ . I love flying but system is to corrupt.
Love that tip, we take so many things for granted, if you’re talking the DPE can’t!! Going to implement this into my IFR training! Safe flying
“The DPE is your first passenger” - that’s a great perspective and a promising attitude.
Yep, great short 👍🏼
At this rate, you'll be making a TH-cam short for every FAR in the book. Which I think is helpful actually lol. keep'em coming
Thank you for this videoit helped a lot
Such a great insight and an awesome way to inspire your student.
Fly the plane with your arm until it gets to the desired altitude and/or airspeed and then trim the pressure off your arm. If it's going to take some time for an altitude change, trim the plane for an airspeed that will get you to the desired altitude and then use your arm to level off. Once the altitude and airspeed is stable, trim the pressure off your arm.
Doing good
Ohhh big bear high density altitude
Exactly what i needed as a new flight attendant! Thank you and so well done
Thanks Yoel! Simple stuff for sure. My instructor doesn’t get into this level of detail.
If the layer were still there when returning, what's the best way to get back in? Does it need to be called a "pop up" clearance or could you just request an approach back into Torrance?
