Thank you! I made this turtle when my best friend passed away. Her favorite animal was a turtle. I really like that you walk us through every single part without cutting up the video into short pieces. Now I need a mini lama so I’m off to that tutorial. ❤
Thank you!
Thank you for the very nice technique. I always wanted to admit this. Why are you always slipping the first stitch on this project thank you.
Thank you so much for being here and for your comment. I always slip the first stitch to maintain a smooth edge on the project. It also helps me sew seams more neatly. If you don t like doing that, the project will still work out. Hope this helps. Happy Knitting!
As you move from the leg to the gusset, the leg portion ends with 40 sts. When you start the gusset video you have 48 it's. Where did those 8 sts come from?
Thank you so much for checking on this. Here is the link to video that takes you from the leg to the gusset part. At the beginning /placing the markers/ part of the video counts out the 40 sts of the leg to set up for transition to heel and gusset. th-cam.com/video/nepnggH-Bww/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Jl96LE10SIrVOL-p Please take a look at the first minutes of the video. I hope this helps clarify but do let me know if you encounter more tricky points along the way. th-cam.com/video/nepnggH-Bww/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Jl96LE10SIrVOL-p
Hallo thank you for this pattern. I have completed to the end of video 3. I cannot continue because the next video 4 is missing. Video 5 is there but no video 4. Please help
Hmmm Let me see what happened... checking right now. I ll let you know soon
@rikavanschoor9695 Here is the link to take you directly to part 4. Not sure why it was "hiding" in the playlist. Have fun knitting th-cam.com/video/nepnggH-Bww/w-d-xo.html
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it
Is the pattern for these slippers for sale? I couldn't find the chart for the pattern.
Oh, I am so sorry. It looks like the links in the description are broken. I will have them refreshed today and you should be able to download my knitting notebook pages. I have not started to sell patterns for the projects on this channel, but will share my knitting journal pages whenever applicable. Will post here a note in replies as soon as the links are refreshed.
@IronEarthDesigns the pattern drawing from my notebook should now be accessible again from the link in the video description. Feel free to use it for personal purposes to make these slippers for yourself and your loved ones.
Hello! How you estimate de st you have to decrease? From the rib to your stockinette? Thank you from Argentina
Thank you so much for watching and for your question. I use the gauge and measurement to estimate the number of stitches when designing or adapting a project pattern. In the video description is a link to a snapshot from my knitting notebook. There you will see that for this project every size will need to decrease by 34 stitches when transitioning from rib to stockinette stitch. If you are using yarn and needle size close to or the same as those I listed in the video description you should be able to carry the same number of stitches, too. Let me know if this helps and if I can help you with another question as yo work. Video for sleeves should be up soon, too.
Thank you so much for the Little Bird tutorial! It is very cute! And the step-by-step is clear and makes it easy for us to learn how to knit! ♥
You are so welcome! I am so glad to know the tutorial is easy to follow. Have fun knitting!
❥ cute cute cute ツ very adorable Thank you so much ❤
I'm so glad you like it. Happy Knitting!
This is probably the hardest part , but you got through it !!! Congrats . If you search youtube you can find how to estimate how much tail you need for long tail cast on. Pay attention to number of cast on , make sure it is a multiple of 4 so you don't end up with errors in ribbing.
Excellent advice NYKnitter! Thank you so much for sharing and most of all thank you for watching and commenting. I love preparing videos that include things that may go wrong and ideas on how to fix them (like the situation where they did the hard work of casting on and knitting around and did not notice they 'll have 4knit stitches next to each other ;) ) to help those who feel intimidated by making an error. :) Personally, I don't like estimating for a long tail cast-on, but that is just me. I love finding various ways of approaching a task or a project, it always gives me an idea for another project design. Do you have a favorite way to cast on sweaters?
Thank you for this video! and also with subtitles in Portuguese!!Thank you!!
You are so welcome! Happy knitting!
This is so lovely and cute! Can you also show us how to knit a bird, please? (not duck...)
Of course! Little 🐦 🐦⬛ 🦜 🐥 🐔 are a lot of fun to make. Let's see which colors jump out of my yarn box for a little bird knit. Also, thank you so much for your comment and request. I love knowing what viewers here on the channel want to make. Creating videos that all of you are looking for is so great.
Thank you!!! ❤@@theroseandthebee
16:56 please note the typing error here. It is supposed to read 16 sts ==> 10 cm across (not 1 cm)
I am looking forward to see how others did this project.
This bunny is so cute! I see that you're using size 2.5 needles, but what type of yarn please?
I'm so glad you like this project. I used some yarn left over from a sweater project. It was Bergere de France Braisiene 7. That is 45% wool and 55% acrylic. They specify larger needle size, but it worked really well on thin needles to make a tight knit and prevent wool stuffing from showing through. Most yarn leftovers will work well for projects like this one. Happy Knitting!
@@theroseandthebee Thank you!
Aaaaaaw a tiny bunny 🐰 cute cute cute 😍 Just in time for easter 🙏🏻 Thank you so much ❤
You're welcome 😊 Happy knitting!
Love the pattern and colour, can you substitute dpns for circular needles? 😊
So glad you like this project. Yes, you can do all of the steps using your circular knitting needles. Have fun knitting.
Thank you,I checked your channel and I love how you explained your projects could I have the name of the sock yarn that you used please
Thank you so much for your kind words. The yarn used in this project is Lion Brand Re-Spun. The color I used for these socks is Amber, but they do have a nice color selection in that yarn series. I try to name the yarn in video descriptions, but sometimes I use upcycled yarn from old things and don't have the label. This one was from a new skein though.
Thank you for that. I am looking for the cable stitches pattern part
You are so very welcome. Ep2 with the cuff rib is just about ready to post and Ep3 with the cable stitch leg will be ready in a few hours. Happy Knitting! I am so happy you are here.
How do I get to the next chapter? I am loving this
I am so happy you are excited about this project tutorial. The next chapter is just about ready and will be posted in a few minutes. The one after that will have the cable stitch and will be ready tonight. Happy Knitting!
Parts 2 and 3 are now posted. Heel, Gusset, Foot and Toe videos will be added to this same playlist in just a few days. You can get to ep 2 here th-cam.com/video/q6CZTP7hhIo/w-d-xo.html And ep 3 Here th-cam.com/video/mAk_JJZ6AEE/w-d-xo.html Have fun knitting!

🐑🐑🐑🧶🧶🧶yay! Happy Knitting!
Thank you for demonstrating this type of increase, which is new to me. Like @dozergetscrafty, I was also wondering why the next stitch was knit through the back loop. Looks like I'll have to make another pair of socks to try this out!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I hope you will find that little twist helpful. I really like how much it helps. Over the years many things like that were passed down to me and I love sharing them. Have fun with the next project.

Thank you for this tutorial 👍🏽
You are so welcome!
You are such a good teacher. Can you teach how to knit a sweater, step by step. PLEASE
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind words. It will be a joy to teach how to knit a sweater! 🤗 Time to put together a few designs - which will be so much fun. 🧶 Keep an eye out for new tutorials in a few weeks. Do you have a wish for a type of sweater that you are hoping to make this season?
@@theroseandthebee thank you so much for replying. I've done scarves and shawls and caps. Have never knitted a sweater. So was looking for a simple one to start.
Sounds like you have the skills needed for a first sweater project. :) Time to start picking the yarn you would like to wear. I am excited to prepare the step by step tutorial series for a beginner sweater project.
I noticed you are knitting the increased stitch and the one directly after it through the back loop. Is this what keeps it from getting holes and do you always work this increase this way even if it wasn't socks? Like in a hat or sweater?
Thank you so much for watching and for the question. Yes, I do find that this way of increasing helps prevent holes and stretched stitches, especially when working with thin yarn for socks, gloves, hats, and similar. Give it a try and see how it works for you. Twisting that second stitch helps prevent it from stretching and opening into a gap.
@theroseandthebee thanks! I do often use this increase as I find it easier than the M1L or M1R. I will definitely try twisting the stitch next time.
❤❤❤❤ I LOVE THIS LAMA ❤❤❤❤ thank you for teaching us please can you teach us more knitted animals / toys
Of course!! It will be a lot of fun to teach more knitted animals. Do you have one you would like to suggest for a future tutorial? 😊 The next one will be up in a week or two.
@@theroseandthebee oh this is the best news - thank you so much for considering my request - ♥️🙏🏻 i will be grateful to learn any knitted animal - but if i may make a request - a mouse 🐁 🐭 or a sheep 🐑 will be very cute 🙏🏻 But really any knitted animal will be very exciting to learn 😊 thank you 😊 ♥️ thank you 🙏🏻
Little sheep and a tiny mouse will be making their arrival soon. ;) Thank you so much for sharing your request. It is great fun to teach knitting and even more fun when I know what people are hoping to make, too.
