I've heard stories about stake and branch president's being called by revelation and they turned out to be homosexuals and pedophiles. Why would God give someone a revelation or calling knowing the individuals sinful lifestyle? Where is wisdom? Where is discernment? Does the person giving the calling not pray first? I'm a bit confused.

America has lost its way forsaking the principles on which it was founded "IN GOD WE TRUST".

Many people love their religion more than they love God because they don't know God and Jesus.

Since I'm already classified as a son of perdition for speaking the truth about the church and denying its divine providence, I will also say here that there was absolutely nothing "revealed" to Joseph Smith from an omniscient being. Furthermore, these so-called prophets are men with no more access to special knowledge than lay people are. Their "authority" is self-assumed and self-imposed. And since I've left the church my conscience has surpassed the limits these men have claimed I've had. So glad I can now let my church-free conscience be my guide.

I'm Brazilian, never been to USA, and it is weird to see members of The Church from USA going against the constitution that was approved by The Lord himself, I still remember when we were taught in a young men class about the sanctity of USA constitution by studying D&C, also Elder Bednar's speech this last general conference was about this woke members of The Church, he literally said that they are like the nephites of old who apostateded from true and in the space of not many years lost everything while the lamanites became as good as the nephites when they were faithfull

When I was a deacon, I often forgot which "route" I was doing, so I just started walking around randomly with the trays until they fired me. A win-win situation.

Well in the scripture his people use to leave him and adore idols and he would always bring them back. President Benson in one of his books wrote that we would not have real Freedom in this Nation again until the 17th Amendment of the Constitution is repealed. This Amendment took the election of the Senate away from the States and put it to a vote of the people. You can see how the Federal Government has taken control through the Regulatory system and the States have no power or limited power. Had they reattained their Election of the Senate the States could have stopped all or most of this power grab.

It's too bad the Church hasn't focused on this since Ezra Taft Benson. We have been told we cannot speak this,, what ETB, is speaking, over the pulpit anymore. This is not good.

Crist himself teaches us that. We , the United States were not chosen by God to be the policeman of the World and that is what we have done throhg years . George Washington ' s vision on foreing policy was to be neighbour of all nations. But since the very beggining that vision was crushed by politicians whose only purpose has been enrichment. The Gospel is for the whole World. And the church is encharged of that , not goverment because is not bíblical. But if we continues mixing politics with the gospel we will be severly judged . We , are dividing the country by doing this. Politics divides but the Gospel reconsials.

In the early days of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the Bishop was commonly known as "the father of the ward", which was virtually true when a Bishop served as a secure and stabilizing influence for 20 YEARS. They were involved with everything because either, they had an incomplete understanding of their actual calling, or as President Packer intimated, Bishops did not trust their other adult leaders to fulfill their duties and callings. The calling of a Bishop hasn't changed, but the length of time has, 6 yrs being about the maximum. Bishop is an Aaronic Priesthood Office. He is the President of the Priest Quorum and is personally responsible for the teaching and growth of all of the Youth ages 11 to 18. That's where his focus should be. He's also set apart as the Presiding High Priest in his Ward and is responsible for approving and issuing callings, first time Temple Recommend Interviews, Tithing Declaration and Settlement, and of acting as a Common Judge in Israel, when members have broken their Covenants and the Laws of the Gospel, and are seeking forgiveness through the process of Repentance or are in need of Priesthood Counsel. Everything else by design, goes through either the Elders Quorum President or the Relief Society President, as appropriate. A wise Bishop, knows this and, after finding out the need of the adult member, will point them in the proper direction.

i remember letters to the newspaper in SLC saying that pres. Benson should keep his mouth shut about " the constitution" , because that was " politics " , and the church should " stay out of politics ". now in 2024 we have many confused woke / liberal / almost marxist members that have a similar opinion . i wonder what pres. Benson is thinking as he looks down on our predicament in this country now . do the historically ignorant church members think that IF we threw the constitution in the trash , that different form of government would leave the church alone , to practice as it deems good for itself and the world . ?? if we don't have the rights of a constitution and the rule of law under it , then we will have nothing.

This is clearly an admonition to the MAGA cultists, the so called republicans or conservatives, and the majority of the evangelicals who voted for Trump and his vile agenda. If you believe there is a god, and you voted for tRump, prepare yourself to be judged by God in a not very friendly way.
