    I am doing tkd (currently a yellow belt) and wanted to go for black belt. The thing is I only learned tkd for self defense I am thinking about it and will do tkd and maybe boxing or Muay Thai. I want something to protect me if I ever get in danger. I'll do tkd for kicks and boxing or Muay Thai for punching so that way I can be a good puncher (for close range) and a kicker (for far range)

      Only for the kids between the age 4 and 8. What’s when you don’t really do much other that a few basic kicks and a lot on games that learns you balance, discipline, control etc. the belts don’t really matter and there’s also MANY different colors.

      It is, but firstly this is taekwondo wtf in Norway and second this is a black belt for those below the age of 15. The only difference between this and a plain black belt is the writing exam you have to do. When I graduated to my second Dan (also uploaded on here) I just had to write my exam and I got a plain black belt. This is just because I got my black belt before I turned 15 😊

    You need to work on a lot of things. The footage here at 3:03 looks really lacking. You will not win in a normal real-life fight scenario. At this footage 4:48, it shows how much you need to work on your balance, footwork, speed, and power. Your kicks are wobbly and the BIGGEST MISTAKES is that you don't retract your kicks. I'm super disappointed at looking at black belts only using roundhouse kicks. Fighting like a green belt. I'm disappointed at how easy it is to be a black belt compared to the past.

    • @QuattroPogjeena
      @QuattroPogjeena ปีที่แล้ว

      I might be wrong, but she probably belongs to a WTF school (purely judging by the amount of younger kids and sparring). As a second dan hapkido practitioner, I noticed quite a few off things in the very limited section with throws that would make it impractical. However, if this is WTF style taekwondo, I think it’s important to distinguish this art more as a hobby and sport with a limited practical self defence use. It’s one of the two most popular taekwondo styles and if people have fun doing it, good for them. Maybe she just enjoys it as a sport, where she doesn’t need to worrying about things like quickly re-chambering a leg after kicking due to a rule set. If she were to join an ITF school (or some other style focused more on self defence) and actually spar with them, then she’d likely have to worry about those things also important to note that I only really have experience in hapkido and kumdo (and ig a tiny bit of aikido but I only did that for half a year so do I reeeeaaally?), and not taekwondo so take everything I say with a small grain of salt

    • @ansonlee9401
      @ansonlee9401 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@QuattroPogjeena I understand your points. I am just showing my disappointment with modern martial arts and the easy access to a black belt. It's such a disgrace. In addition, she practiced for more than 8 years but her kicks are even worse than a beginner's.

    • @c_san5905
      @c_san5905 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the wt schools now you are automatically promoted every 6 months, that helps the maintenance of the teachers. The emphasis for the young people isn't perfection but the develop of basic skills for life, that is why her belt is black-red. Sadly that quit the merit of having a dan too. I agree in what she needs to work a lot of topics, but her passion and talent are undeniable and I'm sure she will improve a lot in the next years.

      This is WTF taekwondo and the systems are a bit different, they also change up things all the time, something I do not like at all. They actually did change up some things right before my exam so I had to try and learn it last minute. I was also stressed and my kicks weren’t the best at all times. Though I do a little bit of traditional Taekwondo I also do elite sparring, and that’s what I presume in and focus on the most. In WTF Taekwondo they don’t learn you to think in a fight so you’re just supposed to do what they tell you to do. In sparring on the other hand, I had to rebuild my kicks and my method of using them. I learned a lot more about balance, strategy in fights and the usage of the different kicks. My exam was at a early start in my sparring career, and I have actually improved a lot since then. Now that I can control my kicks a lot better, I’m training to get great power through them, though I thank you for making observations, Im really sure my coach has it under control, and helps me be a better fighter day by day. 👊🏻😊 Good luck with your ukulele, I have been playing a few years, let me know if you want a good critic to tell you how to play! 😘

    • @wiki_wk8937
      @wiki_wk8937 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Makes me so happy that you started! The reason that my belt looks like that is because when I graduated my black belt test, I was only 13 years old. If your a black belt below the age of 15 you get what’s called a poom belt. This means that the belt is red and black. As you can se in my second video I graduated my DAN 2 belt ceremony at the age of 15. So I got my plain black belt! The only thing that separates the to belts is the writing exam in Taekwondo:)

    Ahhh you were so cute when you're a little, atleast you've got the basic, now if you re into a real fight (i mean skill that will be really useful in real fight) i suggest you do more exercise. Focus on your strength. Those Taekwondo you've been learn without a strength and power is like a rusty sword/sharpless. Gym will help you improve your stamina and strength. To make your kick powerful, you need to release power on your kick, don't focus on a choreography, just release power with a natural motion, you need to make a hard sound on those target. It might be hurt a bit the first time you do it, your foot skin might hurt like irritated at first, but human gain power from a pain, your body parts will get stronger from the healing process, next time you kick hard, you won't even feel any pain. Its the same thing when you build your abs and biceps, exercise basically is training that hurt yourself, and growing your body parts in the healing process. I hope every women get safe out there. Please take care of yourself, i don't hate strong woman. Strong people whose keep each other. It really hurt me when i heard news women become a victim. Stay out of alcoholic life. It ruins everything.
