Thank you for saying that cause I too kinda prefer this Batman over the original one. This Batman feels more believable and with the stress of still having one parent alive makes the secret identity even MORE important to keep compared to prime Batman. I mean really, what does Bruce actually lose revealing his identity? He might lose his money but that same Batman has done more with less prior. And you can’t be even say his family would be in danger because Alfred is a G and all of his kids have died at least once and they’re all basically little Batman. If this Bruce’s identity is revealed however the first person someone would go after is Martha. She’s not a fighter and especially in this version she’s just a regular person. I also like how this Batman rather than just “knowing” about the criminal underworld but actually at a point in time was a part of the world.

I've been reading Batman since 1972 at the age of 5 and I can certainly say without a doubt this is the most different take on Batman I have ever read but I can also say I enjoyed the hell out of this comic book.

Sounds to me like it was heavily influenced by the original Blade Runner movie. Still, I'd love to read it for that reason. Nothing wrong with being influenced. 😊

Almost skipped this review because I was like "how could anyone call this BAD? Like not liking it, sure, but it's well made and far from garbage' and glad I clicked it, you have good sensibilities and make good points, so as the first review I've seen it seems you know your stuff (and you KNOW not all comic readers understand comics or even how to discern what they LIKE from what's good or bad, or even how to parse themes) so I'll stick around for a bit.

Yeah, dude. I dig this take. I actually enjoy all takes on Batman, for the most part, and this is familiar enough to be comfortable, while different enough to be surprising and have stakes. Plus Snyder just knows how to spin a good yarn. I'm excited to follow this one, at least for these first 5 issues.

Well...... This was to be expected i guess LOL. Personally, i like it. Only problem i have is the Battle Axe.

Isn't Snyder responsible for the Bat-robot suit that looked more like a rabbit? Since New 52, other than "Court of Owls" Snyder has done nothing but ruin Batman, making him more like IronMan with the ridiculous tech. This book wasn't bad, actually surprisingly good, and I will continue to read it but eventually Snyder will go off track and ruin it.

great review! I actually dont read superhero comics at all, as ive always prefered manga, but this review has convinced me to check this comic out! I really love batman as a character, especially in the Arkham games, so seeing a different spin on his world sounds really interesting, thank you for the video :).

Considering this comic is still not for everyone, I'm not ashamed of being fooled by the title. But speaking of the Absolute universe as a whole, I'm now ubelievebly hyped for the other supes in this universe. Wonder Woman looks especially sick.

Dang bro, that title is crazy. Personally, I didn't read it because I'm not a fan of Riley Rossmo's art (I hate it honestly), though I like DWJ. I saw a bunch of positive reviews, brave of you to not go along with the flow lol. I mean, I get it's stylized, but still. I also associate his art with that Tim Drake comic, so yeah. I mean, maybe this is trying to get him away from that image, but still.

i've only seen the movies and played the arkham games and read killing joke and knightfall. what should i check out next as someone who is a casual but thinks batman is cool?

As a person who knows all about Batman I suggest u keep an open mind and read it. Its a good read.
