Pardons for Everyone... Except the Innocent!
In one of the most disappointing events in modern day politics, a departing President has pardoned a doctor that was supposed to be a hero but who is suspected of a massive cover-up that may have resulted in the loss of over a million innocent lives, a committee that was supposed to protect Americans but which actually imprisoned dozens of falsely accused citizens while suppressing evidence that could have exonerated them, and now, apparently, his entire family who had been engaged with the President himself in suspicious business practices that would have resulted in criminal charges being brought against non-privileged people like you and me. How can this happen in America? We let it!

      I'm reading from the 1978 NIV for this series, but I typically teach from the ESV - both are from the Alexandrian Text. Most modern versions are excellent, and I try to rotate 7 versions, (the KJV, NKJV, RSV, NAS, NASU, the 1978 or 1984 NIV and the ESV. I don't really have any partiality to any of these, but I just started reading from the NIV and did most of my memorization with that version, so I use that a lot.

    By His Grace Thru our Faith🎉

    • @rickbloodworth7068
      @rickbloodworth7068 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I agree that grace and faith are critical, but we are also told that we are saved by Jesus' sacrifice, the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, the Gospel, calling on His name (our confession) repentance and baptism. Also, while no one will be saved by works, the Scriptures are clear that we will be judged and rewarded based upon our works, so I try to always include that whenever I speak of what our part is. I would agree that grace is the most important, and that all that we do has its foundation on our faith. I would not minimize grace and faith but include the others since God emphasizes these things as well. Thank you for listening, and especially for your comments.

    • @rickbloodworth7068
      @rickbloodworth7068 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not sure that I ever referred to a church building, but if I did, it was in error. What we are commanded to do is gather together in a physical place, be it a building specifically constructed for church gatherings, a park, private homes or some other place where the body of Christ can meet to worship and especially to partake of the Lord's Supper in the first day of each week. I'm sorry of I inferred that the place of gathering was of any significance, but the Scripture is clear that the gathering together is both a privilege and a duty. Thanks for your clarification.

    Many have tried to make the bible fit the world. It is best to make the world fit the bible. Read Hebrews. Christ is our sacrifice and high priest. There is no more sacrifice thanks to Christ. Paul, in Colossians, tells us that immersion for the remission of sins replaces circumcision. Christ said that if you don't believe Moses, then you can not believe Christ, John 5. The new covenant is God's Law written on the heart, not just on stone. We were taught the same things, but it is good to always prefer scripture over church doctrine. In the Greek Colossians 2:14 says that our bill of debt, our sin, is what was nailed to the cross, not God's morals, His Law. God does not change. It is helpful to let the Bible define its own terms. I have a growing list. It is very dangerous to "spiritualize" verses. One can make them say anything. It is best to believe what God wrote. We have one God, one Bible and one faith. In the Hebrew and Greek there is unity of faith and doctrine. Once you get the correct people in the proper roles, the scripture changes to a beautiful love story. It is after all the world that is upside down, not the Kingdom of God.

    Yes you do. You need to follow ALL of the laws of Moses. Matthew 5: 17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter, not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. 19 Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Most Christians follow the teachings of Paul, not Jesus. Jesus warned that false prophets will follow him and to be vigulant. I think you got it wrong.

    • @rickbloodworth7068
      @rickbloodworth7068 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I understand your point of view, but in verse 18 Jesus stated, "Until all is accomplished" and in Romans 7:6 Paul through inspiration states "We have been released from the law". My understanding is that the Old Law that was given by God to Moses was fulfilled when Jesus died on the cross, and that He ushered in a new covenant.

      @@rickbloodworth7068 I've heard it successfully argued differently. As for verse 18, " For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter, not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law until all is accomplished." Heaven and earth as far as I am know have not passed away, so all has NOT been accomplished. Furthermore, God's laws are forever. Psalms 19:9 God’s laws are pure, eternal, just. Jesus fulfilling the Mosaic laws are a post hoc rationalization by Paul because according to the Hebrew Bible , the Messiah wasn't supposed to die. He was suppose to bring Heaven to earth and rule from Jerusulem. That is why the Jews rejected Jesus as the Messiah. He didn't fulful any of the Messianic profecies of the Hebrew Bible.

      @@danielmurtin2911 You might be right, but I believe the case for the old law being nailed to the cross, including the requirement for animal sacrifices, circumcision, the priesthood, etc. is borne out by the apostolic writings and the worship of the New Testament church. Still, each person has the responsibility to make up their own mind, for each will certainly kneel before God and give an account of themselves including the way they handle the Scriptures. We disagree but we can still remain friends.

You put your fingers in your ears a blindfold over your eyes and your foot in your mouth and decided to roll with your guy, tht’s your prerogative but don’t preach to people this non-sense because for that’s not trapped in the Cult of Trump and to the people that actually think you just look really foolish.

    Okay, at about the seven-minute mark I made a reference to 120 volts of electricity. I realize that it should have either been 110 or 220 volts, but like Michael Keaton in Mr. Mom, "220 volts, 221, whatever it takes".

      True, but the One who is with us is greater than the one who is with them (I John 4:4).

    You start out with the same assumption almost all people make. You are correct about Life and death - that's our commanded choice. You assume, however, from the start that we humans must spend eternity somewhere. The bible says no such thing! The bible makes plain the fact that we are created mortal beings. The cold hard truth is that the sinning soul dies and unless we are born again into Spiritual Life we will never experience it. You are correct though, our choices are LIFE and DEATH and not Eternity in Heaven or Hell. This is true physically and Spiritually. Heaven is not a place we go to at death or after the resurrection and hell is not a place of separation for eternity (with or without punishing). Our choice daily is to die to the mortal flesh and be renewed by the Eternal Spirit. Heaven is coming to rule earth. Those who do not obey the gospel and know not God will be eternally annihilated.

      Interesting comments, but I certainly disagree with your conclusions on eternity. But then again, that's why I encourage everyone to read for themselves and draw their own conclusions. I am confident that God will reveal all of His truth in the end, and I trust Him fully to make the right decisions as to heaven and hell, regardless of whether any of us has a perfect understanding or not. Thanks for your comments and for watching.

      @@rickbloodworth7068 My conclusions are the result of 50 years of scripture study. They were not made in haste. Thank you for the video and kind words.

    Since my comment was deleted...I will just say this. TRUE Christians are very few. They are an elect. I am one of them. God doesn't even want us on social media...I am just struggling with the narrow road today. But truth is many don't actually know The Lord who state they do

      I'm not sure what you mean by your comment being deleted. I don't believe that I saw it, and I don't delete comments unless they contain inappropriate language or are in bad taste, so I guess it was deleted by another source. As to social media, it is like television to me. It can be used for good or bad purposes. I guess when it comes to that, so too can our everyday conduct and God still gives us choice in that. The thing we all have to remember about choice is that He still penalizes us for the wrong ones, but He also rewards us for the good ones.

    For me the answer rest in what a little Christ anointed one is prepping up with. A container has three stages or three levels which are empty, half full and totally full pertaining to it's purpose. As a Spiritual Anointed Temple My Preparatory need is to be Filled with the Holy Spirit of Divine Wisdom and Understanding, Counsel and power, Knowledge and Godly Fear and not to be a container with No water or a Half Filled Half Wit but to be filled with Christ Consciousness at all times. The word Christian means Christ= Anointed and Tian = Little and literally means a Little Child Anointed One. Except you become as little children you can not enter the Spirit Kingdom of God that is within you. AMEN

      I too am convinced that "becoming like a little child" is one of the keys to salvation.

    May I suggest the Church is not the Ekklesia of Jesus, Paul or John of the Bible. The Greek word Ekklesia means the called out to assemble as set apart ones. Have you every wondered why the English word Church is not found in the old Testament even though the Greek word Ekklesia is founds about 67 time? And again why the first 3 English Translations of the Bible by William Tyndale and Miles Coverdale do not contain the word Church? Do you'r own research on the English word Church and then you will know for yourself. Believing what you have been programmed with and Knowing the fact are two totally different things. Believe like Eve and be deceived but Know by experience through you own knowledge to prove what is True or False is what set a person Free indeed.

      Perhaps a better phrase would be the Scriptural "body of Christ" but whatever you call it, the church of God is the one He adds you to upon obedience to His commandments. I am a little hesitant to get into so many arguments over words, because such disagreements tend to separate, rather than unite but I do understand the desire to stay as close to the Word as you can, so I believe that we all just have to do our best.
