Brand new Honda Motocompacto! Custom mods have already began!
Check out my chopped and channeled Motocompacto or possibly the “MOSTcompacto”. Haha It still folds and compacts like normal, just not fully down into the body. Temporary ‘BRIDE’ seat, Chimera black billet bar ends, Biltwell grips, and fenders removed. Attempting to get more of the original Motocompo vibe going on. Let me know what you think! Please share/like/comment and subscribe! *** bodywork cutting and bonding was actually done by a good friend of mine that has a greater level of precision. So in the video when i say “we” i mean my buddy Craig of Kennedy Coach Works who is a prolific metal smith. But is willing to help me with my lil plastic stuff. ❤️

Slight update, new CDI coming and a small dog. Custom Honda Navi and more!
มุมมอง 1Kปีที่แล้ว
Sorry for the lack of updates and new content. I’ve tried to only share videos with some sort of value or information and I just honestly haven’t had a lot of that to share lately. However, life goes on, things are good, just a bit busy lately. Hopefully I’ll be able to share some info on the new CDI soon and I’ll pull the new Zuma project out of the dark corner next time. It came with so many ...
Behind the scenes, a bit of defeated rambling about the reality of custom scooters/motorcycles.

You win some and you’ll definitely lose some. Just about any modification to your bike can add some complexity to its ridability. Typically we deal with these issues as they come up but all of these have been sitting since before the pandemic and have only moved a couple times since. We know it’s fuel issues but sometimes you just have to call it a day and order a couple new bits and pieces to ...
Honda Navi 12” REAR wheel, how much to shave? Kenda 110/70/12 KD1 Racing tire.

If you haven’t done it, grinding down or “shaving” the back side of the engine may sound scary. Here’s a little before and after showing that you really don’t need to remove much and the best way to go about it a little at a time. Re-installing the rear wheel and letting it rub a little won’t hurt anything as you check for clearance. Let me know if you have any questions, my whole intention for...

2stroke Zuma swapped Honda Ruckus in its final form!
มุมมอง 2.4Kปีที่แล้ว
This is my original 2009 Ruckus that really started my 2 wheeled addiction. It’s been 2t swapped for a little over 10 years but I’ve finally upgraded the engine, and swapped in a built 70cc zuma engine that my good friend Baby Jesus built years ago before he passed. I’ll also be rebuilding his scooter so if you’d like to see more than JUST Honda Navi content, PLEASE let me know! And of course, ...

Custom Honda Navi, First shake down run for the year!
มุมมอง 655ปีที่แล้ว
Finally took Navi Numero Dos for its first ride since I bought it! Since I bought it in the middle of winter (used) I’ve taken it completely apart and back together a few times already. Since it was almost ‘warm’ out today I took it for a short ride to see what rattles loose. We’re expecting snow again in the next couple days so it’ll still be a little while before I can find it’s top speed and...

How much u want for that civic
Not for sale, I bought it brand new and I’m keeping that one. 😉❤️
hey brotha, appreciate your videos. they've been super helpful. i just did the ac/dc conversion this afternoon thanks to your guidance. how much did it cost to get your plastics (i'm assuming) wrapped? thanks again
I actually had a really close friend wrap mine and I think it was about $350 with materials. The vinyl was a bit expensive because I insisted on 3M atomic teal and it was (might still be) discontinued during the pandemic. So my friend called around to dozens of wrap shops around the country to find someone who had enough left for my needs. Not sure if my price is typical or not.
Hi… I really like the handlebars on your bikes… could you tell me the brand and model?
All of the parts are from @steadygarage I used the Chimera U-bomb bar and woodcraft/vortex clip ons.
Does your taillight stay on when you installed the Grom lught
It stays lit as a normal running light and brightens when the brakes are applied as it should.
@@xtramediumminimoto I was told to connect a wire directly to the battery and one to the 7.5 fuse was this something you did
Absolutely not. Do not connect straight to the battery, just use the original connectors for the brake light and signals.
I love simple and to the point. You didn't have a camera in your face showing nose hairs and playing jokes with friends like it's not planned. You just showed us what we needed to see. Thank you!
Thank you! I try to focus on the project and leave myself out of it.
❤
❤️
So I read that the 12 inch advantage is that it's better for gaining a higher top speed. But it's slower on the low end acceleration from 0-30. What is everyone else's experience?
With the right tire you do not lose any low end. The 12” wheel and tire is lighter weight than the 10” wheel and tire.
How fast does it go?
Fastest I’ve seen on gps is 64mph. I’m confident I’ve gone faster but that was down a big hill come back from Look Out Mtn outside of Denver, did not have gps on at the time. Does about 60mph in the city with enough room.
1:53 how does indicator still works? I had to remove mine because otherwise all 4 turn signals would flash.
I used a flasher relay from 12”o’clock labs. No extra resistors or anything else on mine.
@@xtramediumminimotonice, do you have a link? How much is it?
All the info is in the video.
Do you know if this will fix the issue where it dims my head lights when I turn on my turn signals? I installed that same rear tail light and been having issues with light diming only when I turn on my stock turn signals?
It worked for me, without seeing how yours is done and the parts used I can’t say for sure but it’s the best one I’ve found.
handlebar measurements 👌🏼plis! 🙏🏼
I used the Chimera U-bomb bar from steady garage with woodcraft clip ons. Mine are about 2” lower than stock because I used PCX150 lower mounts.
Almost all the scooters you show in this video have those beautiful rims which I need for a project... You get them from somewhere bro...
I’m sorry I don’t have a link for you.
@@xtramediumminimoto Really?
Yes really, if I had a link to share I would have posted it two years ago when I built this bike.
@@xtramediumminimoto But there must be a way to get those rims, because they were from Japan, so you just have to know who the manufacturer was and what the name of the item is, that's enough for me!
They were special order at the time and I bought the last 6 that were listed for sale. They also don’t fit with out machine work. You can make 3 piece wheels with any width and offset you want. You don’t need my wheels to build your own.
For this reason, since they are CUSTOMIZED, THERE MUST BE SOMEONE OR A PLACE THAT MAKES THEM TO ORDER and that is what I need to know!!
I’m sorry I don’t have a link for you.
Please someone tell me the number of those tires so I can put it on mine.
110/70/12 front and rear. These are Kenda KD1 racing.
Where can I get the connector part?
Basic spade connector sold at any local autoparts store.
I need de rims please!!
These are custom, sorry none for sale here.
hello, what is the point of the two fuses holder? looks like your basically just moving the wire from the connector to the fuse box. Am i missing someting?
Whats the point? It’s in the title and in the video. You can’t use LED lights without the conversion.
Wow! I need those rims, where can i buy them online??
I bought the wheels from japan and had them machined to fit the Navi hubs.
@@xtramediumminimoto What is the name of the manufacturer? Can you give me the contact information?
Sorry no, they were special order. But any wheels 2.5-3 can be used if they have the right offset if you machine the center bore out and redrill the bolt pattern.
Your bike looks sick! Sorry if I have lots of questions. What LED headlight are you using? It looks bright as hell. What shock is that? & How do you change the handlebar grips? Thanks.
Thanks! I built this almost 2 years ago, so some of the best answers are in the comments already. The rear shock is wirus win from webike japan, changing the grips is pretty easy. Just make sure to buy 7/8ths sized grips. Removing the old ones is easiest by cutting them off.
1:08 wait, bigger tires means you go faster or slower?
The 12” wheel has larger holes than the original 10”, so with the right tire combo you can have less weight and larger overall diameter that will give you more speed. Just using a bigger 10” tire will add too much weight to see a benefit.
Yessssss
Thanks, hope you like it!
That wire connected to (+)?
I don’t understand your question, it’s all very clearly shown in the video.
Exhaust?
It’s from japan for a pcx150 but I had it modified for my Navi.
Subbed Navi Nation!
Thank you!
I friggin love it. I’m getting one!
Awesome! My dealership got 5 more this morning and two of my friends snatched some up.
@@xtramediumminimoto dayummm! I bet that would be fun af! Superminimoto Squad hahaha!
There’s 5 of us so far. The boss HATES it! 🤣
@@xtramediumminimoto hahaha he’ll give in eventually 😝 make him ride one
No, he was definitely angry. Haha and he’s a bit over the size limit. Probably why he hates seeing us have fun! 🤣
This is ugly as shit i cant lie.. 😂
It has a good personality! 😝
Id love to see an all black design
I have some other details coming soon but won’t be doing all black unless I recreate it from carbon fiber.
So where do you buy the parts or what parts are they?
Any local autoparts store will have what you need.
I am so incredibly excited to see where you go with modding this bike. The motocompo and motocompacto are so incredibly cool.
Thanks! I’ve made some more updates but life’s gotten in the way and I just need to finish reassembly so I can show it off and ride it again. Hopefully soon!
That's it? Wow i can't believe they didn't do that from the factory. Now can you explain what's actually happening?
Not sure I can explain it completely but the Navi is wired very similar to a MUCH older and less complicated bike. It uses AC for the lights because they’ll still function with a dead battery. So it can still be kick started, and ridden even if the battery is dead. It’s a safety function. However it’s ALSO a safety function to upgrade the lights for better vision and to be seen easier.
Can you give a link to what you got from Babbitt?
For the wheel? Looks like they’ve changed the part number so maybe they have more in stock? www.babbittsonline.com/oemparts/p/honda/44650-k74-a00/wheel-sub-assy-fr
Yo I just wrecked my Navi. Broke my ankle this is a must for me, the stock breaks are dangerous my friends
I got a 23 Navi & looking to get some wheels & convert to drum brakes etc. where do i find these part? & do you have an IG or any social media where i can ask about Navi mods?
All Navis come with drum brakes front and rear. If you’re meaning disc brake, it took a lot of custom work to make it happen on mine. You can find me on IG or half a dozen Navi groups on FB. Xtramedium911 on IG. 👍
Where do you get the rims
They’re custom machined for the Navi hubs. I have the only ones.
Nice!
Thanks Dana!
where did you get the headlight cage ?
That’s included with the OEM windshield. Thats how it’s mounted.
Best tutorial ever thanks my man
I hope it helped!
I installed a ac/dc conversion headlight kit and it uses the brown wire already. If I want to add this for flickering lights, do I just splice into the brown wire?
Sorry I don’t really know what you mean. The way I show how to do it requires no splicing. I only recommend doing it this way because I’ve done it on several Navi with no problems.
@@xtramediumminimoto I mean if that wire is already in use for something else. Could I splice into the same wire and it would still work?
I have no idea what that wire would already have been used for so I really can’t tell you if it will work or if it’s safe. I’d undo whatever was done previously and start over to make sure it’s all going to work correctly.
Love the content. Where did you get the handle bars?
Thank you! Both of my Navi have different combinations from SteadyGarage.com. They each have the Chimera U-bomb bar with clip ons. They have 2 options the clip ons and the U-bomb bar comes in black or polished, narrow or wide. I have different combinations on each Navi and like them both. Lots of adjustment.
Great to see a video of it close up!
Waiting on one more part and I’ll be able to show off the new lights and other details. Hopefully it arrives today or tomorrow so I can finish it this weekend.
Where’s that exhaust from
Hotlap japan. They have more than one option now.
My navi only goes 45
There are a couple easy things to check, make sure it’s not over full on oil, tires have good pressure and brakes are adjusted and not dragging.
I love the bride seat
Thank you! I’m hoping to having something even better soon. The Bride pattern is almost too big for the little seat. Haha
@xtramediumminimoto I was going to say, "I have some in my garage, but the lettering is about 8" wide" Your seat still looks pretty good. I'll trade you my stock one, lol.
I actually did two. And gave the better one to coworker and mines a little crooked.
Do you remember the dimensions of the custom foot bar? im looking to get one custom made for myself
I used a solid stainless steel bar that was a little shorter than the original so the pegs would sit perfectly in the body. It really depends on the pegs you use because you don’t want them to stick out further than the originals.
Great job
Thank you! More updates very soon!
I want those bars
Chimera U-bomb and clip ons from Steady garage. They have several options.
Do you know what size gauge wire you used ? I bought the add on circuit but need to know the gauge size ?
Sorry I made this videos so long ago I don’t remember exactly but believe it’s 12 or 14.
@xtramediumminimoto no worries. I actually looked at the wire on the "add a circuit" and it said 16 awg.. which means that its a 16 gauge. So I figured it out 😅 only problem is the female disconnects I bought were wrong and don't fit to the brown wire I popped out. I think I need specifically a female "spade" connector. I just put the project to sleep last night. Gonna continue on today.
Sounds like you’ve got it figured out. 🤙🏻 II think I used 14g because it’s what I had in my garage already.
Whats your idle rpm?
I generally keep mine tuned to stock idle but this one doesn’t have a tach so I can’t say with good confidence what it is.
Damn that was easy. Saved myself a few bucks and made that connector with simple parts I already had laying around. Thanks dude no flicker! Time to add some leds haha 🤙🏾
This is 1000% the best case scenario. Most people could just ask a friend for help and they already know someone with the needed stuff in their tool box. 👌
@@xtramediumminimoto I did have to cut the battery cover a little since it wouldn’t fully close. But that just a minor cut to make space for the fuse jumper.
That’s a personal preference mod really. Not super important to make it close but I did something similar on one of mine.
I’m Loving the progress on this. Confident the Motocompacto will become a real mod friendly scooter as more people pick them up. It’s a Honda after all, and with a single unified design that people can design for, I’m sure aftermarket companies or even small enthusiasts with some fabrication skills will come out with some awesome things.
I’m happy to see so many people people excited about them. It should encourage Honda to bring all the others to the US soon!
